Bdjuf sees he has Paypal money and sends the Epass, and then Paypal reverses the transaction because nowadays they will only let you do an instant transfer for that amount when you have a positive history with them. What Paypal does is change the transfer to an e-check, and they wait for the funds to get withdrawn from the account owner's bank account before they approve the transfer again. When the transfer comes back insufficient funds, they cancel it as fraud. This is why you should NEVER do Paypal to Epass unless you 100% trust and know the person, it is way too easy to manipulate Paypal and it happens all the time...

Guy says he will send you the money first.. a lot of guys would think all was cool if they got the money first so I can see how it could happen.

Of course you really don't have the money in reality yet. Seems like Paypal should have something better in place. I don't see how this could happen. There should be secure funds or something when sent from Paypal. Anyhow good luck to ya.

I was also thinking something like this might have happened, but the fact that Patrick hasn't contacted bdjuf back to let him know there was a problem is a red flag. Seems odd also that someone who's been doing business online for so long wouldn't already have a verified paypal account. Did the icq for sure come from Turboface's usual account?

I probably explained that wrong...it is common for scammers to send instant transfers from their bank account through Paypal for their end of a Paypal-Epass trade, because one of two things will happen...

1) If they have never sent an instant transfer that large before, Paypal has a bad habit of letting it go through for at least an hour or more before they flag it and reverse the transaction. So the Epass guy thinks the money is there in his Paypal because it shows in his account and sends the Epass, only to find out an hour or so later that the transaction was reversed by Paypal and he is fucked.

2) If the Paypal person has sent that large of a transfer before it could take the Epass guy up to 5 days to fund out the funds were never in the Paypal person's back account, since Paypal can't verify money in a bank account in real time, at which time Paypal charges it back to them. So not only does Epass guy lose his $1700 he sent via Epass, he is also -1700 in Paypal if he withdrew that money.

That is why I would never do one of these, Paypal is so easy to manipulate for a scammer you could get seriously fucked...

1. looks like he has been trying to get ahold of you
2. Looks like you knew there was a problem with the transaction, so it was your responsibility to keep in touch and keep him updated about what was going on. Looks like once you got his money you left like a fart in the wind
3. the moment there was a problem you should have sent his money back right away until things were sorted out
4. The fault lies with you, so dont come here with an attitude that bdjuf did u wrong
