I dont see what the problem is.. Seems to be linking to all the mpegs which are located on TGP sites ran by the companies. Plus the urls are all over the videos and the vids are low quality/short times..

The most common and crucial problem is the sponsors and hosting companies actively supporting that. If they wouldn't, sites like these wouldn't exist.

Especially the sponsors are the first in line to stop that, imo they are as responsible as those sites, since they could terminate them EASILY.

You can't use htaccess to protect movies the same way you use it to protect pics, BUT if you know who's hotlinking you, you can deny them access to the server completely

You can also use htaccess in conjunction with a cookie set on the gallery page to protect the movies.
The problem with that is you need to use javascript to set the cookie, and alot of TGPS/MGPS will kick your gallery back if its got javascript on it.

Galleries have banners and text links, along with selling text. These items drive the conversions, no?

You're basically insinuating that people build galleries for the type-in traffic they'll get from the watermark on the video...

Obviously, you never tested the productivity and quality of hotlinked traffic, did you ? I did and all i can say is their productivity SUX big time (way under 50%), even on a clean text link site.

Hotlinked traffic knows it can get all free and - most importantly - hassle free, without any need to look at ads. So they won't appreciate your redirected page. It stays a waste of valuable bandwidth.

So or so, hotlinkers are nevertheless criminals, since they induce heavy financial and technical damage.
