That John Stossel video is pure bullshit.

He argues that without private health insurance, there will be much less medical research and medical breakthroughs.

Since when do insurance companies fund research and invent new medicines and treatment?

His whole argument is flawed and it's nothing but a scare piece.

John Stossel became a conservative a few years ago as a career move, he's a total fake.

The Obama administration and Congress' approach to health care reform may be receiving less support because it becomes less clear what the goals of this reform are supposed to be.

According to a recent CNN/Opinion Research Corp., poll, 50% of Americans approve of Mr. Obama's health care plan while 45% of Americans disapprove. Mr. Obama aims to increase health care coverage for an estimated 47 million uninsured Americans. The Administration is pursuing this goal in light of a looming federal deficit whose increase is partially due to the increasing costs of Medicare and Medicaid.

Some people protested the proposed health care overhaul and likened it to socialism.

Firstly it will not cost the average tax payer more, it will actually cost him or his employer less. Even a fool realises that if their paying for health care through their taxes they stop paying the private insurance charges. This will directly save them money as Americans now pay more for health care than any other country. Also it will reduce the cost of employing people. Many companies today pay the employees health insurance, these charges are far higher than national health care. AND all these charges are passed on to the customers. Don't ever think you're not paying for other peoples health care, if their boss is you are.

As for illegal immigrants unless you want to pay a lot more for your fruit and vegtables, plus a few other things, you benefit from illegal immigrants. Unless you can find Americans to do the same job for the same price.

Also saw another blinkered post about trusting the Government with your health, at the moment you trust and insurance company whose goal is profits, paying everyone fat salaries and share dividends. Do you really think they would do a better job?

And some people are morons, if that's their best argument they have a weak case.

A switch would mean what people or companies now pay insurance companies they pay in extra taxes. It would save them more not cost them more. But those getting backing off the insurance companies don't want you to know that. They just tell you of the increase in taxes.
