Fox News...the "fair and balanced"

...news station...showed about five minutes of the President's town hall meeting today...but are showing all of the protesters of health care over and over and reporting the misinformation that many of the protesters are disseminating...adnauseum. MSNBC...for one...showed the entirety of the President's town hall meeting.

In my opinion...any time the President speaks...it should be required that all news media must show it. One of the reasons being is...it gives one the ability to hear the words of the President...instead of the spin the talking heads put on what he said.

If you want to see how fair and balanced their viewers are, head to http://www.thefoxnation.com

It took awhile, but I have mastered the art of calling people stupid there while still being able to get past the censors.

Nah, Fox is a private enterprise and should be free to do what they want on cable, public spectrum is different though.

I think Obama should have more townhalls like the N.H. one -- he tried to give more time to those who wanted to ask critical questions of his policies, and it should be said that the people who asked critical questions did so in a calm and respectful manner.

As far as I know all news media outlets are private enterprise except possibly PBS.

They should be able to do whatever they want since it's a private corporation. People are free to choose not to watch it. I still do not agree with what they are doing.

The thought that private corporations should be allowed "to do whatever they want" is a major reason why our economy is currently in a bad way and to me is not a reasonable thought.

When do they lose the right to call it 'news' though?

This is America, they are free to manipulate the general public. If they use public spectrum -- radio or tv the FCC can regulate them as they are using a public resource. That's why the FCC will fine companies for "indecent" broadcasts.

Visit cuba for 1 week and then tell me you feel the same..

They have limited channels to watch anyway and those fucking people take over for speeches that last hours at least 2 times a week.

Just make a specific channel for people that want to see him..All President All the time.

"MSNBC’s Carlos Watson introduced a segment on his show yesterday by wondering whether calling Obama a “socialist” was “becoming a code word, whether or not socialist is becoming the new n-word for some angry upset birthers and others.”"

Once again the President spoke today...introducing the newest Supreme Court Justice (a historical event)...and once again it was not covered by Fox News...but was by MSNBC. Once again Fox News...during the Presidential event...was showing protesters being anti Obama/Democrats.

Fox as any network has the right to manipulate news and video's to their own agenda to make anyone look good or bad - it's up to the people to take what grain of truth is there and dump the rest - if you can't then you deserve to believe everything you see and the consequences of having limited horizons

I spend my time between CNN...MSNBC...Fox...C-Span and occasionally the BBC. Out of the five C-Span is my favorite as you can view the words coming out of the "horses mouth" more than the others...and for the most part do not have to put up with the talking heads...taking out of context what was said and putting their spin on what was said.

C-span is great for big government events for sure. No talking jerks buzzwording their opinion at every moment they feel like it.

I hate the format of the cnns, msnbc's these days. They cram the screen so full of crap that it's impossible to just WATCH it.

Hey TV jerks, if I wanted to READ, I'd have turned on my computer, also, I dont give a fuck what the dow jones industrial average is every f'ing second of every gdamn day! Also, I know what time and date it is, thank you very much.

I've found that if I use my cable box and tv's Zoom buttons, I can zoom in so none of that is on the screen. I tell ya what, it's better to see half a persons face than all that bullshit.

TV is trying too hard to be the internet.

Well to be fair cnn and msnbc were all over 6 people protesting outside the Bush ranch

But didnt cover 10,000 people (police est up to 12,000) protesting Obama here Columbus Ohio:

The few that did report the protest said it was "a few hundred".

They all have an agenda.

Yeah but everyone knows or knew the name Cindy Sheehan and her beef with Bush. I cant remember why people were protesting Obama, was it him as a person or something he did?

Health care, bailouts and spending. More against government than "Obama" I shouldnt have worded it that way.

And the only reason people knew about her beef was because the MSM wanted you to know. Other wise no one would have heard of her.

I'm with you on the live coverage but that little time-and-date stamp makes a fine reference point when the footage is rerun.

They're protesting the death panels that will decide when elderly parents and disabled children should die, as well as the banning of freedom, the new world order, Socialism, and the proven fact that we have a Kenyan national as President.

Don't you know anything???

Just saw an awesome CNN propaganda piece where the piece ended with "we should have the RIGHT to health care"

Why not a right to food?

Why not a right to a house?

Why not a right internet access?

Why not a right to cable TV?

Why not a right a car?

Why not a right to electricity?

Why not a right to gas?

Where do these people get these ideas that another should pay for them? These are grown people saying they want their neighbor to pay their bills. Its just crazy.

Nobody has the right to be critical of Fox News unless they're critical too of the slanted biased coverage that's coming out of our network news programs, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, etc., etc.,...

Our media sucks and is full of propaganda especially MSNBC (the worst) and Fox (a very, very close second) and we're worst off for it. Americans can't think for themselves anymore or come to their own opinions without the idiots like Keith Olbermann and Bill O'Reily helping them come to one. We're a nation of morons because journalism lost the mission of who, what, where, how and when journalism.

I agree. There is not a single unbiased news media outlet that I am aware of. C-span is the least biased...in my opinion...and I rely upon it heavily but one does need to use multiple news media outlets to attempt to make some sense out of it all.
