Don't put the models name in your gallery. Any quick search of her name will give the surfer a 20 minute preview( usually of the same scene you're promoting ) ... time to find something else to do with your time

so 80K in one day - stays on site for 3-4 days meaning should get a little over 100K to one gallery in a low position.....

hummmm - where would I advertise?

on a tube where I can't have a link and PRAY they don't rip my watermark or on the hun?

not saying one is better than the other but this seems like a no brainer....

Many think traffic is the most important part of the job That's so 1995 it's a joke but fools are hard to teach. You do need traffic and it's important, more important is what the surfer sees on the site he's sent to.

Today the surfer's spoiled for choice, he can choose anyone of 100 to 3,000 sites in the same niche and he knows what he's looking for. The buying traffic has bought before, usually many times and if you have to rely on the newbie surfer to get sales you're screwed. If you're shooting micro niche and you don't know that niche inside out you an bet your customer does. No one wakes up one day and decides he's suddenly into a icro niche.

Not as much as having something the surfer HAS to have in your tour. It used to be down to traffic, ow its about content first, traffic second. Tubes get tons of traffic but very few sales. And their are affiliates with sites that only need to send 50 hits to get a sale.

We used to get Paul Markham Teens listed in the over flow all the time and some times in the main part. Then we saw a marked decline in sales and when they started to ask for paid partner accounts the submission TGPs started to go to the dogs. Not hard to work out why.

xxxfeetxxx your tour needs seriously looking at, it does not feature socks enough to fulfill the needs of the niche. You've even included girls and cut off their feet, cut the toes off girls feet, the second page is better IMO than the first, you need to assure the customer you have a lot of content on the site and content that screams "Socks onTeens".

Amen!

Im still confused when people that want to buy ads bring up alexa ranking and google pr.
I tell them to try a simple site doing 100k daily, then come back.

Most come back the next day

For all the years I've been on the boards people have told us traffic is king. They have never changed the song even though the Internet has changed totally. Then as now the only thing that mattered was the sign ups and what each one of them cost. Traffic was always the easy thing to get, sign ups for some the hardest.

Sites that were doing 1:1000 and not enough signs were told "You need more traffic." 999 of the people who visited the site were clearly saying "NO THANK YOU." and leaving. And some still thought the solution was more traffic. So they spent more money on more traffic and often their ratios worsened, so they threw more money at getting more traffic.

If 999 people are walking into your shop (tour) and saying no the problem is you don't have what they needed. Many came to the site because they were interested in the niche and what the gallery was showing, but the tour failed to convert them. The problem should of been solved by converting 1 of the 999 into a customer. doubles your membership and makes your site look better to affiliates.

Then the job is to keep them on the site with content they adore and can't find on 100-1000 other sites.

The result would of been an Internet that rated customer satisfaction as the most important thing. And after 10 years would not see dissatisfied customers migrating to free sites. But we still see traffic as king, this thread proves otherwise.

Thehun still does not have paid partner accounts. No partner accounts at all to be exactly. You still can submit galleries for free and get listed in a couple of weeks...

Hi "Review" !

I see you don't love me anymore, I barely get listed nowadays :P

By the way: for those who don't know: backlog is reduced from 2.5 months to 1-2-3 weeks or even a few days! Also you can get "thumbs up" signs near your gallery. But for details, check the Hun Board.

I was wondering too, when OP says 40k traffic on a top spot. It's been ages since I submitted there, but a listing way down the list, could easily send like 100k of traffic.

Yea probably he will want to change the name he has been branding for 3 months now. Some one else might buy It though but I'm pretty sure thehun won't.

Working on www.mobihun.com of course! We already got more than 60% bookmarkers and traffic is growing every day. We also added a lot of niches on thehun's overflow http://www.thehun.net/overflow/ . The overflow is still growing as well, we had the busiest month ever in march 2009. Very cool if you figure we started counting stats from 2000 and the what happened with most tgp style sites.
We had a nice youtube page set up for mobihun, but that got deleted by youtube, guess they could not deal with 50000 views on a video of Britney Brooks blowing a big one (balloon) in a day(!) and Sabrina Deep enjoying some icecream...

And we can stay behind socializing, so we also got a twitter page: http://www.twitter.com/mobihun feel free to follow!

Before I forget, most video galleries on thehun.net are both in mp4 and an "old school" format available. Mobihun offers the same formats but also 3gp and mobile friendly lay out of the site itself and most galleries listed on top. Pictures are also mobile friendly.

Obviously if you getting a free spot at 9 or 11 or whatever then his sales are way down. I remember buying spots 5 years ago when there was a waiting list for 11-20.

my memory is bad but was it you that sued people who you felt infringed on your domains, where it was even less of an issue of what mhun.com would be for the hun ? I don't know if you own mhun or its listed on your site by someone else but kind of ironic if my memory serves me right.

Is that an Ibanez RG Prestige in the middle there Michel? Sweet collection.

I've not submitted a gallery to any TGP in 6 years, but theHun still sticks in my head as the best out there, with the most decent people running it. I used to get listed all the time - you just have to put a bit of WORK into your gallery, find new good quality content which hasn't been flogged to death, and you're away.

Nope, thats a "normal" rg560, but from the very first series (with neckplate instead of only the bolts) and made in japan 1991 I believe. So it should be prestige quality.

It's still free to submit to thehun so I'd say give it a shot. We also accept mobile only galleries now for mobihun.com or make it a hybrid one for both mobile and pc. You can submit all (mobile also) galleries through the same old submit page

My guess these days, 1:50,000 is about right for a TGP.

If you had a clue, you would know ratios mean nothing. I can make a template with 50% CTR and then another with 0.1% CTR, each could send the same sales, but one at 1:30k, the other one at 1:60. Its like telling: "My guess is a car costs $20k nowadays."

We thought it was getting too long before new submitters got listed as well, so we went in and changed a couple of things. Now you'll get listed fairly quick. And like someone mentioned earlier, once you're in the loop you can get listed every 3-4 days...

Do you still run your site or did you sell it? I remember hearing amazing stories about you and was curious as to what you are up to now.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback. I ended up with 2 sales from around 110k gallery views. I agree it's not one of the best galleries I've ever got listed. Will think harder for the next one.

What are you babbling on about? It's simple maths - how many sales, for how many unique visitors. We are not discussing clickthru, it's a listing on the hun, in text.

The OP has confirmed my 1 sale in 50K hits guess was pretty accurate.

2 sales on a Hun gallery listing is pretty good and should be about the norm. Ive had listings where I made 0 sales and Ive also had them make 9 sales (once) But the majority of the galleries Ive had listed make between 1-3 sales. Rinse repeat

Thats fucking sweet.

One of the reasons I dont submit there on a regular basis. Takes too long to get listed

Kudos that there are still places you can get that kind of free traffic. Esp now that bw is no longer a prob. hehe I remember in the old days bw was a def consideration on the listings I got from The Hun.

On the flip side tho.. click thrus now days.. surfers are so savvy you may only get at best 2% ctr on your gallery so maybe 2000 to the sponsor on a 100,000 to the gallery. And that may not convert. (don't hold me to that as I don't submit galleries anymore but I assume 2% is good if like most traffic now days)

Hun's surfers have to be mostly bookmarkers who have seen every pitch and paysite in the book and I doubt you get 2% click thru.

I would be interseted in what click thru % you got if you don't mind sharing.

Congrats! ctr doesn't mean as much as long as there are sales.

You never mentioned gallery visits to sales...ratios mean in most cases paysite visits to sales.

A lot of people who thought it was simple maths are now flipping burgers. It has fuck all to do with maths, it's about how much the people looking at the gallery (or what ever) like what they see X how easy that niche/content/style/content is is to find on 1 or 1,000 other sites X how much of it is available for free on Tubes X how good the gallery is at stopping going to the next one (especially on sites like the Hun) X how well the tour convinces the the surfer the site is worth signing up to X how good the site is at keeping them retained.

Simple maths?

After 10 years of people thinking it was about simple maths and where we are today it's a wonder people refuse to say they got it wrong.

Now tell me how if only 1,000 people see your gallery it will convert half as many as 2,000 seeing it.

Maybe some need the simple solution, sadly it does not work.

Waaay back in June 1998, both The Hun and AL4A listed my first site (not a gallery - the actual front page that had a number of images on it) right at the top of their listings. One of their top three spots, can't remember exactly which.

Been riding the coattails of that massive traffic influx for eleven years. Much love for the Hun (and AL) over here.
