With all do respect Mike, there is no self loathing here. Am I not allowed to defend my efforts in mainstream especially when it gets called into question? The beautiful thing about adult is no one can prevent anyone from making a buck. As you have so eloquently said in the past, you cannot fail out of porn. I'll make what I need to make and work on whatever projects I want to work on. Content is content and no matter how much you want to defend it, it does not take a NASA degree to film it in compelling fashion, again, evidenced by the abundance of amateur/girlfriend content that is in hot demand.

See that is just it. If these thread was only about shooting adult content, you and the others would be spot on when it comes to adult content. That was only one aspect of the offer. The other was a completely different route that has far greater potential. The problem is dropping $3500 is a lot for anyone especially with no return on their investment until production is complete. For someone who wanted something in return immediately, that's where shooting X amount of scenes would come in.

Am I claiming to get the greatest adult shooter ever? Not at all. But not having shot one adult scene ever, I am confident I can put out a better product than half the shit produced today because I understand lighting, framing, editing, etc... Many of these guys do not even understand what an aperture is. That's fucking ridiculous.

See, this would have been a perfectly acceptable response earlier in this thread that would not have gotten a rise out of me at all. I am very sincere in my efforts and have a few friends that have worked in adult for a while and have nothing but respect for the business.

I actually considered shooting with something like an HV40/HG20 HD cam but the smaller consumer units lack a focus ring or have very limited manual control. But I figure at worst, if I shot for example 10 scenes and transfer all rights and ownership that would be a fair enough deal.

Then again, its not like there is a ton of internships in adult to begin to learn the ropes other than doing research on my own. Appreciate the advice and civility.

Actually a few months ago, I lead a discussion at the local college's film class and the issue came up about shooting porn and how the production value leads many to believe that just anyone can shoot it. But like I told them the same thing, if you do not understand filming/photography basics, it doesn't matter what you shoot, it will still look like shit in the end. It just seems those that shoot shit in porn can make more money with lack of skills than those in mainstream who make the same mistakes where many would end up fired for not opening their aperture or leaving their cams on auto focus. LOL

Point taken but honestly, those sub $1000 HD cams are shit because of the lack of manual controls that generally only work well if left on auto focus. I think that's why many who don't know what they are doing buy them and their end product fails most of the time.

Chances are FMLTube is telling the truth and she is a very classy and educated woman with a lot of pride, but her pride is her downfall. I put 2 years of time working for various people for free. If you are serious and want to learn what it is to really shoot porn and be competitive with your quality content, you can come on my set and see what it takes to shoot, strobe stills and shoot video. It is 100 times harder than you are thinking.
