I believe this video is a piece of propaganda.
They say the bodget was $300? That's just ridiculous.
Just calculate the time spent on the effects and the living costs of the people working on that... They would not even be able to finance half a day.
Seems to be Hollywood's newest rave to undercut others with the movie budgets they make up.

She lives quite near my girlfriend.

My girlfriend is a hairdresser, and one of her customers a few weeks ago said she was in a restaurant, and Susan Boyle was there also. People were taking pics of her, and someone shouted over "how are you enjoying your fame ??". She replied back "i'm not, now fuck off!"

i don't know i have seen some student films that were very professional

when you have an entire semester, have been building up artifacts for 2-3 years of school
have free labor (classmates) and lab time (high end computers, editing studio) you can do something that good for very little out of pocket money.
