Did anyone read Dan Browns new book, "The Lost Symbol"?

I like his stories, just wondered if it's any good this time around?

I enjoyed it, I was a little dissapointed when I found out the extent of the liberties he takes with his "facts" to make his stories or interesting, but I did enjoy reading the book.

I've started on it. But I'm not feeling it. So I keep it as a back-up and read a bit from it now and again.
It's definitely not up to par with his other books.

The Da Vinci Code has to be one of the worst books I ever read in my life. Couldn't even finish it from hos stupid and ridiculous it was. After that I swore to never touch another of his books for as long as I live.

I really can't stand how he makes all his chapters 1 - 3 pages long. It gets really, really annoying after a while.

Its not much to do with the church, mostly american history and the freemasons. It would be interesting if more of the "amazing facts" used to set the plot were true, also the end is... not gonna spoil it.

I quite enjoyed it. I found the end quite thought provoking. Still has pretty much the same type of characters and plot - but I was entertained.

Blah...I am a big fiction readers and love reading. Take Robert Ludlum or Alistan Mclean + the new McNeil or Clive Cussler for example....Even though these guys write with the same main characters/set of characters, at least their books are interesting to read and their stories/plots differ...

Dan Brown sucks....I have read all his books, each time hoping it was better than the other one....and can honestly say....he has used the same research he did for his other 2 books (Da Vinci code + Angels & Demons) and created another book with the same typical plot.....the guy has no creativity....Looks like he has run out of juice....

I read on holidays normally 1 or 2 books about internet/management/marketing and true succes stories. I have 1 book which i read last holiday, but didn't finish it. It lays there till i go on holiday again, only read on holidays.

Further i read David baldacci, Dan Brown, or whatever is available in a second hand bookstore in asia (dont want to travel with kilo's of books).

If you want a book about the same subject as DVC but written from someone who can actually write and has great level of culture, read The Foucault Pendulum by Umberto Eco.

I was given the book for Xmas and lost interest in reading it after the first few pages. It's too predictable.
