My taskmanager won't come up....What's wrong?

I type in my site www.blackvaginafinder.com and it's a blank page even though I know it's there....I hit control+alt+delete and I get "The application failed to initialize properly"....

Anybody know what's up?

Yeah start running some scans, sounds like you have something that is stopping you from opening up TM to kill the processes.

I like interracial.

I think if you mix two different colors something more beautiful can come from that.

I mean - what do you get when you mix white with white? Just white.

Looks like AVG really is biting the big one these days. I got this virus/trojan on another machine with a fully updated AVG and even booting to safe mode and running the AVG full scan, it didnt even find the mother fucker let alone cure it.

Seemed to me that it came in via adobe pdf/activex, since I noticed the issue when I went to shut down and windows warned that a web page still had a pdf file open, then it seemed to finish installing and run itself with it's bullshit warnings.

Thanks for the links and info, Overload. I used the video to find and remove at least one instance of the exe file, though I couldnt find it in the registry. So I'm still working to restore internet capability and running the symantec standalone tool.

It's like a mechanic destroying your engine on purpose so they can sell you a new engine. Scumbaggery.

Sounds like "Total Security", that virus that presents itself as an anti-spyware program when in fact IT is the spyware. I had a bout with this not too long ago, it won't let you open programs, won't let you open task manager etc. It WILL let you open up IE but unless you type in directly the domain you want it will completely control your surfing.

Luckily I have a second computer and was able to conduct searches for sites and forums that have fixes posted, or programs that can fight it.

DO NOT pay any money to the program itself, because several varieties offers you a way to get rid of your problem. It's a scam of course.

When you get to the desktop does it identify itself as Total Security? Let me know.

If possible, try to access system restore and restore your computer to a date before it got infected.

This one calls itself Security Tool and looks professional. A nice scam. Check the youtube video, it's pictured in there. It's fancier and more modern/convincing than the original from a couple of years ago.

Had that exact virus, yes it's the security one.

Boot windows to safe mode (with networking).
Fire up IE. Go to internet --> Connections and turn OFF the proxy.
Fire up Malwarebytyes (it's free) and update it.
Run a system scan.
After it's finished, remove all malicious entries.
reboot to normal mode.

Ah, thank you. This part is entirely missing in the manual removal method described in the youtube video(s). Just an FYI if people are using it. No mention at all of it messing with such settings. The stand alone symantec tool didnt find anything by the way once I'd already found and deleted the file itself.
I think I'll kill AVG and try Avast on that machine tomorrow.

The version I had of Total Security must have been an updated one, because it would not let me run Malwarebytes. I could download it, install it and even open the program, but it would not allow a scan to be run.

In fact it was programmed to block all such scans from any similar program. For a few of them it even blocked you from opening the exe file.

It even blocked me from using system restore. It nuked all my old restore points.

In the end I had to reformat, but I was long overdue for one anyway at the time so I didn't really mind that much.

The makers of this Total Security thing are obviously watching the techie forums, and whenever anyone posts a fix they simply adjust their program to compensate, so there are less and less ways to defeat it as time goes on.

Try everything you can, then if all else fails it's reformat time.

For me, luckily, that machine is one I got in a sales contest, and typically I only surf from it and read things and watch youtube video's and look at real estate or other BS crap.

I do remember exactly what I'd searched and clicked and browsed immediately before it happened. Perhaps I'll try to duplicate it tonight then rag on google for letting it advertise prominently if it happens again. It'd been an adwords ad. Non-adult related.

I have AVG too by the way, their complete suite. However, on doing searches of Total Security and how to get rid of it I found tons of others who use all kinds of other AV programs as well, including Norton, McAffee, and all of the ones mentioned in this thread. It seems this particular brand of spyware/malware is difficult to prevent or otherwise block as it is ever-adapting.

I just put my little network behind a router and added some beef to the firewall, hopefully that's enough.

I've beaten several other types of spyware and virises in the past but this Total Security one is about the most tenacious I've seen. Was quite the learning experience fighting it.
