Aside from the profiling, if they are legal then they should stay. If not, they should not be allowed to stay. Why should someone be allowed to stay who is an illegal? Be it of any race, color, or creed? I find that logic self-evident and that does not make someone a racist for thinking such.

should be as simple as no citizenship, no drivers license or State issued ID, you get stopped, can't produce ID then they can ask if you are a citizen since you prolly aren't if you have no I.D.

I am white and have a neutral accent, so when I walk out of a walmart or target, I am harassed by people saying "Are you a registered California voter?" trying to get my signature for some cause.

I noticed that they do not do this with anyone who is brown. They target only black or white folks.

The amusing thing is I am Canadian, and my wife no longer votes regardless of the situation. Whereas the latino woman with the 4 kids that they ignored/racially profiled is more than likely a citizen.

Me, a US citizen can be questioned about and get jail time for any number of "minor" infractions. Sucks but the truth. The very least that should happen to someone not a citizen is to be arrested and deported.

It is not that simple. I live in a small town that has a pretty high population of migrant workers and Mexicans. Many of these people are legal and have green cards, but many of them are not. I am good friends with many of the local police officers and this is what they tell me:

The feds are so over-extended that they would have to hire a ton of people just to keep up with the current demand and for the the most part they aren't even actively going after these people so most of the time they don't bother with them as long as they aren't committing crimes. However, there are places in this country that simply deport illegals if they do commit crimes. So they are free to steal a car or whatever because they will just get sent back to Mexico and they can sneak back across the border again.

I will ride around with one of these friends of mine and they can point out the illegals as they walk down the street. The schools here are full of the children of illegals and almost none of these kids can speak English. They are now teaching K-3rd grade classes half in Spanish and half in English. If your kid is in one of those classes they are going to sit there half the day trying to learn Spanish while the rest of the kids in other schools are learning other things. Sure, your kid will end up speaking Spanish decently, but at what cost? Not too mention you go to the urgent care center and it is filled with illegals who don't pay the bill for their treatment and many of them work under the table so they pay little or no income tax. Many of these people are a burden to the system.

The feds simply don't have the knowledge or manpower to deal with it all. If they simply funded the locals and let them handle things on a local level it could take a huge step forward in helping get rid of illegals.

I am not a racists, nor am I against people wanting to come to this country to make a better life for themselves. I think we need to make it easier for those who want to come here legally to do so, but for now we need to do something about how it is working because basically we have millions of people living off the grid and taking from the system when they put next to nothing back into it.

As someone who, despite my best efforts, spent 2.5 years illegally in a 1st world european country, sometimes these issues aren't as clear cut as it seems.

Many, many people in an illegal situation are victims of poor procedure, apathetic agents, and general prejudice.

Perhaps not all, but a large percentage would be in this strata.

Well illegals should go but 2 problems with this whole thing

A) When those whites say "illegal aliens" they actually mean "ALL hispanics" legal or not. Trust me if all those illegals suddenly got perfectly legal green cards those white folks would not be saying "Ok you can stay now".

B) Legal hispanics that support illegals hurt their own cause. They get lumped in with the illegals. It's a matter of "If you not with us you're against us". In the whites'( and even blacks' ) eye if you're hispanic and support illegals then you are not different than them even if you are legal. If legal hispanics would protest against illegals that don't follow the rules they would make thing so much easier on themselves. You don't see me going around supporting all white people. One of my exs was a legal hispanic, and her and her friends didn't like the illegals because she said it made her and her legal family and friends look bad. She said that the people who come here illegally from her experience were more likely to break the law and she knew they gave people the wrong impression about all hispanic people. She was all gung ho about building a big ass wall at the border with armed patrol guards.

I think we should allow any people from any country in as long as they don't break the law, and seeing as all illegals committed a felony coming here, they shouldn't be allowed to stay just because they broke the law. Not about race, its about following the rules. Illegal Europeans can get deported too fyi.

Nothing illegal about picking pineapples. Another company was caught with illegals on some of the boat tours. Nothing illegal about being a crew member on a boat.

You seem confused on the laws.... If a cop is driving down the road and a Mexican is walking down the street, and he just stops and demands an ID - they will get into trouble even with the new law.

Just about any other situation, a cop can ask for your ID, your name, what you're doing and where you're going. Most people, comply... people like you don't, so they move on. Illegals say - I don't have an id or simply don't talk at all.

If you're in a building, a crime happens, the cops lock the building down... they will ask for your ID and if you try to say no, you will be detained. If you have drugs on you, after they search you - you will go to jail. Just like the illegal that can't produce papers.

If you fail to produce an ID at anytime - that's more than probable cause to look into things more.

Step 3. They start cracking down and sending them back by the trainload.
Step 4. Labor pool dips to "frightening" levels.
Step 5. Suburban lawns start to over grow and die off.
Step 6. Stupid law gets removed or forgotten. Police are told to ease up.

She said that the people who come here illegally from her experience were more likely to break the law and she knew they gave people the wrong impression about all hispanic people. She was all gung ho about building a big ass wall at the border with armed patrol guards. I think we should allow any people from any country in as long as they don't break the law, and seeing as all illegals committed a felony coming here, they shouldn't be allowed to stay just because they broke the law.
