Les Canadienes win 2-1 to take down the #1 seeded Capitals.

3 weeks ago I did not see this coming.

Le fucking A.

And might I add... WHAT. A. GAME!

Can't say they deserved It after watching this and last game though. Halak should run for Mayor of Montreal or something.

Where we watching the same games? Montreal played great. Absolutely without Halak being on his A game they'd have been in serious trouble but all things considered they all played pretty well.

It wasn't Halak that scored the goals, the players who some of you say all sucked scored them.

If they make it to the cup final and win, he won't have to run. His appointment will be automatic.

Are you fucking kidding? last two games SOG were like 130 to 50?

Agreed, but the Habs still outscored you, them, whatever. Halak is God, I'm not disputing that. My point is that the rest of the team played well too, for the most part. They put the puck in the net, Caps couldn't.

No sense saying they didn't deserve it. That's foolish talk. Soreloserspeak.

Game one against pens he's going to go stone cold and Price will be in. 4-0 or 4-1 series for Pens. Little Cindy goes for conference finals once again.

Im Red Wings fan, so I dont really care.
But you did not deserve to win this as a team. You were outplayed in every department as a team. It was Halak and PP unit. Everywhere else you got outplayed.
You will get steamrolled by pens. Mark my words.

IF the Habs keep playing the way they did in the last 3 games they have a solid chance of beating Cindy and the Pens.

The only team that didn't deserve to win this series was the Caps. Hot goalie or not, great teams find a way to get the puck past him enough times to win. They didn't.

Done and done.

NEXT.

And you guys can quit saying "you" to me, habs are not my fav team. This year I'm backing Chicago, their captain Toews is a Winnipeg boy. I'm also keeping an eye on the Flyers, because I've always liked the Flyers.

habs winning is a good thing though, in my book anyway.

Honestly I gave them little chance of knocking off the mighty Caps, but they did it.

Now I'm not so sure they'll suck that bad against the Penguins. I'm very much looking forward to their series though.

There's one major difference. When the heat is on and pressure is mounting, Ovetchkin doesn't seem to deliver. Crosby on the other hand ... Gold medal goal, anyone?

In the Olympics the Russkies choked, that's definitely no secret. Sid on the other hand did come through in the end, in OT, but that game was wayyyy too close for my comfort. We should have hosed the US 6-1 but ended up wining by the width of a blonde pube.

I don't think Ovetchkin has been quite himself ever since he got suspended for 2 games for that hit on Campbell.

But late in tonight's game he was on fire, flying through and/or over montreal's defense several times and getting good shots on goal, but Halak just had his number at every turn.

If habs bring their A game to pitty it's going to be a super series. If not it will be a short one.

He didn't do much the whole time. He was in the right place at the right time. He is Canada's first line center. Who else is going to do it? Chris Progner?
He didn't do shit in Stanley Cup finals last year either. Clutch my ass.

Oh shut the fuck up. 6:1. We won in preliminaries, and you got very close to going in OT with Slovakia if it wasn't for Demitra's fuck up.

By the numbers team Canada was the greatest squad ever to lace up skates. They indeed should have hosed every team they played. That's the point, they didn't. Too many of those games were way too close for comfort. Team USA was a better team than most gave credit for, they gelled early whereas Canada did not. It took a few games for us to get our shit together.

The point is, for those who are having a hard time understanding me, is that Canada should have done better than they did. Team USA on the other hand played awesome, and Sid was as you say at the right place at the right time... but then again that's how a large % of goals are scored, no? Of course they are.

Now go chill the hell out or something, you with your "shut the fuck up"'s and such you are way too tightly wound up around this hockey bullshit. Have a beer, and a cookie.

so did the Caps.
SOG were like 200 to 30 in last three games.
Habs had hot Halak, US had Miller. Same shit, different stalls.

'Tis true. I dont know if Crosby is clutch. The Penguins just have an amazing team. Fleury is a great goalie, they have good D and they have the most Center depth in the league bar none (Malkin, Crosby and Staal).

Also, you think Ovie regrets that Halak is shaking comment? What a fucking idiot. Ovechkin is amazing and I think his outspoken nature is great for the game. But come playoff time, shut your mouth and win the game, end of story.

People of Montreal. Habs Fans. I don't think Leafs fans care. they can't even remember how 2-nd round of playoffs feels.

I am from Montreal and a true Habs fan... but never in my life did I ever do anything you are assuming... And I was there in 93 when we won the cup

I do recall seeing some crazy stuff on the news after that cup win. Didn't quite a few fans turn St. Catherine's St. into a bit of a war zone? I remember seeing a few overturned cars, one possibly lit on fire, and several broken storefront windows?

Whatever, water under the bridge now, but it has crossed my mind that if by some crazy lightning strike of haluck the habs win the cup again it will be interesting to see what fans do to downtown Montreal this time.

I bet the parties were stupendous though.
