I'll tell you I have no clue how my microwave works. It could be a a small nuclear explosion for all I know. The microwave burns meat inside it in minutes.

Well israel seems to have hundreds, and will not disclose or allow inspections. Iran has cooperated fully with the IAEA and there is no proof they are building a weapon.

They are obviously the next target weather they are building a weapon or not. I'd love to know what Iran has done to the US. Yes if Israel was near me with Nukes I'd probably want them too.

They have not done anything directly to the U.S. since the Embassy takeover...that I am aware of. Indirectly...it is reported...that they have supported the insurgents in Iraq with training and weapons...the same applies to Afghanistan...and they support several "terrorist" orgs that are aligned against our ally...Israel. If they become a military target...it is because of their actions...including the...reported...pursuit of a Nuke.

None the less you have not answered how it serves the interest of Iran to have a Nuke.

Jews are allowed to not follow the rules because Hitler did bad things to them 65 years ago. And if you question that then you're anti-Semitic.

Here is the difference. Israel's leaders don't go on TV and say that Iran needs to be wiped off the face of the earth. Iran's do. Israel is our ally. If Iran got crazy and nuked Israel, it would start a chain of events in the middle east that could lead to Israel nuking half the countries over there. We would like to avoid that if possible. The best way to avoid that is to help get the leadership of Iran removed and replaced with one that is a little more moderate. It may never happen, but that is one of the reasons they are a target.

Another is that they just don't like us and we can't be sure they won't sell a nuke a terrorist group that will then light it off in a US city.

No one...in the public knows how many...if any...Nuclear weapons Israel has...and probably not even the U.S. Governement knows the number...but may know if they have them or not. They have never tested a bomb...and that is known.

In addition IRAN has not "cooperated fully" with the IAEA. They have cooperated to the extent that they chose to...as reported by the IAEA.

There is an org that is dedicated to Israel and its interests...and may or may not wield a lot of power...so what?

The real power serving Israel is the American Christians. They are the biggest contributors...the biggest voting block...and the biggest cheering section for the existence of...and survival of Israel.

I actually like Iran's president, I think he pretty much set the record straight to George STEpHanpwieruious the other day, and made him look like a retard. I think its hilarious how there are Youtube videos that try to compare him to hitler ......it just doesn't work.

Please do some reasearch and tell me the last time Iran has started a war. Also america has already overthrown a democratically elected leader in the past (operation ajax was it?) Didn't turn out to well in the end.

I never said they started a war. I simply said they have a leader who has called for the total annihilation of Israel and they don't like us either. If they develop a nuke, they might be tempted to give it to someone who will smuggle it into the US and explode it in one of our cities.

I also realize we have overthrown their government in the past. I said we need to help get the leadership of that country replaced. Iran has the highest concentration of citizens under the age of 30 of any country in the world. Many of those people are more forward thinking and want the current regime replaced with a more moderate one. We need to support those people.

It is perfectly understandable why the Iranian regime would like to have nuclear weapons given their strategic situation. it is also perfectly understandable why other countries (US, Israel, Saudi Arabia) do not want them to get nuclear weapons and will try to stop them.

to think that the world needs more nuclear weapons is whacky and shows a complete lack of understanding of what's right and wrong.

He never said that- another convenient mis-interpretation by the right wing media. He said the state of israel should not exist and orthodox jews agree because according to judaism the state of israel should not exist now.

From a practical and humanitarian standpoint what the fuck did people expect after WW2? They needed to form their own state. Although I do not agree with fanatical zionism or any other religious "isms" for that matter.

The full quote translated directly to English: "The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time".

Word by word translation: Imam (Khomeini) ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods (Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad (vanish from)..

Arash Norouzi further adds that the The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) translation is the source of the confusion:

One may wonder: where did this false interpretation originate? Who is responsible for the translation that has sparked such worldwide controversy? The answer is surprising. The inflammatory 'wiped off the map' quote was first disseminated not by Iran's enemies, but by Iran itself. The Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran's official propaganda arm, used this phrasing in the English version of some of their news releases covering the World Without Zionism conference. International media including the BBC, Al Jazeera, Time magazine and countless others picked up the IRNA quote and made headlines out of it without verifying its accuracy, and rarely referring to the source. Iran's Foreign Minister soon attempted to clarify the statement, but the quote had a life of its own. Though the IRNA wording was inaccurate and misleading, the media assumed it was true, and besides, it made great copy.

no doubt eh. it's hard to sort out the reality of our relationship with iran. my last girlfriend was *persian* and at one point asked her why iranians refer to themselves as persian since that empire is no more and she said it's a denouncement of the iranian regime. that she and most other iranians do not want to be associated with it and what it represents.

iran is no threat.

the people of iran or more western that the west.

ie

they love ipods and such.

if you was iran would you get the bomb? of course you would as we know if you have thebomb, its unlikly the usa will start a war with you.

but if the oiran leader hated the usa or indeed uk, why does he love to go to both uk and usa universites. you would think he would keep away.

in fact he did the uk's alternative queens speach on uk ch4 not so long ago.

hardly the actions of somone who hates the uk.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008...istmas-message

the truth is, we no loger have any enermies anymore.

in fact if a coutry wants to beat us up, all; it needs do is have a better econmy and businesses.

look at china. it quickly becoming bigger than the usa.

its even bought most uk businesses. i think china know on jag cars.

do not forget its not easy to loaunch a nuke unless its close by.

oie, iran does not have gsp (the usa can turn gps off at any point).

long range nukes are not common, and can be blown out of the sky with modern day lock on missiles.

plus there is no gurantee the thing will work.

to launch nukes you need subs and a heck of a system.

iran is a business country. no one in iran would suport a nuke war. in fact i bet there would be no suport for war at the moment.

the thing iran has is that it feels its one sided. isrial gets much suport from the usa and uk.

though in the last few months the uk has got anoyed with isrial over them stealing uk passports to engage in a assasination.

Looking at the map posted, seems more like the "other" countries are in the blowing up mind ... and history backs that up.

Tell me who Iran invaded in the last 50 years ?
Tell me who brought war on Iran in the same period ?

It is up to Iranians to decide their future , not outside bullies. They did once a revolution bringing the religious backs, they can do another to kick them out .

Yes exactly. One can understand how it can be accidently translated to Wipe isreael off the map.

I also realize we have overthrown their government in the past. I said we need to help get the leadership of that country replaced. Iran has the highest concentration of citizens under the age of 30 of any country in the world. Many of those people are more forward thinking and want the current regime replaced with a more moderate one. We need to support those people.
You have no basis for saying that except for the mainstream propaganda. He never called for the annihilation of israel, that was more propaganda. Hopefully americans won't fall for this campaign like they did with the other wars.
