Mine died about this time last year, but he looked pretty much identical to this one:

He was a lot of work. He really needed to be brushed daily for about 30 minutes. He didn't get that everyday, but he did make it easy when it came time to do it.

Best cat ever and totally worth the money spent.

There is only one breed of cats.

It's called Spawns of Satan.

I don't have pics on the office comp

I have 4 cats total. One Russian Blue, One Siamese (she's a bitch too ), and two tabbys, brother and sister, that we rescued at the Humberview Used B-lot. They were under the car next to their deceased mother crying, 5 weeks old at the time.

All four are doing well, although Coca (the siamese and newest) still takes pot shots at the others from time to time.

Don't buy a cat from a breeder. Go to your local shelter and adopt one. The majority of the cats at the shelter are going to be euthanized because nobody wants them.

I have a Siamese and a Minx.

Before now, I have only ever owned Siamese since I was a kid. Like 4 of them. However, this Siamese was very anti social compared to others. So much so, that it actually was not even in the program to be adopted since it would not pass the 'kiddie' test.

So I took the Minx as well to help train the Siamese. She has come a long way, but she is still a one person cat. She is also very jealous when GF comes over.

We have an orange tabby, and a lynx mix... The tabby is convinced he is actually a dog, having been raised with a wolf hybrid and 2 dogs, the mix is just half nuts, but adorable.

Stories like this makes you want to adopt the pet

Miss Kitty Fantasico - Pichica: DSH, tortoiseshell, female, spayed, vaccinated, DOB April 15, 2006.

Pichica was surrendered to the Toronto Humane Society after she fell eight floors off an apartment balcony and her owners could not afford to take her to a vet. Miraculously, Pichica only broke her left front leg and dislocated her right hip. The vets immediately repaired her leg with surgical plates and attempted to repair her hip. Despite several tries, her hip would not heal and her back leg needed to be amputated. She gets around very well on three legs and can run and jump just as well as a kitty with all four.

Pichica is a very social kitty and is always up for meeting new people. Despite her social nature, she seems to get very attached to "her person". Every night when her foster mom climbs into bed, Pichica hops right up after her, meows her a bed time story, gives her a lick on the nose, and then settles in at the foot of the bed for the night. She loves to sit quietly beside you on the couch and will happily knead your thigh until she curls up into a ball for a nap. She can get overstimulated when pet too much or too close to her amputation site, and will give a warning growl. The signs that she has had enough are very easy to read, but she would do best with an experienced cat owner that can give her space when she needs it. She would be okay with another laid back kitty if introduced slowly, but would prefer to be your one and only. Pichica has learned to tolerate the lazy dog in her foster home, but would not like active dogs or children. Pichica is a loving and loyal companion that would blossom in a quiet home.

Pichica is lucky to be alive and is now looking for a safe home when she can begin her new life.

owning a Persian is like owning a royalty - they need to be taken very good care of - long fur and such is tough on cat and pain to deal with.

I have a little gray guy that I found under a hedge when he was about six weeks old. I think he's a Russian Blue, but I'm not actually sure.

He's very popular with the ladies . . . .

The cat we got most recently was found inside a couch about to be crushed by the garbage truck. He popped out and was brought to the rescue we foster for, then we took him in. He was awesome from the get go and we decided to keep him.

That was the first in 6 recent cat fosters that I even considered adopting. That may be an option worth considering, rescue organizations are always looking for people to foster cats and dogs.

The four photos of the cats posted so far look very nice. I would have to agree with the saying, "A picture says a thousand words." You just can't describe the cat picture with a single word, like "cat."

These cats are pretty amazing but very expensive. Will cost you about 1500-20,000 depending on which one you get.

I have a siamese mix. He was a gift from an escort I was friends with back in Olympia. I used to help her market her services online when she was just a phone sex girl.

He's super awesome. Siamese are so intellegent, they really do interract with you so much. I've had him since I was 19 years old and out of all the pets, including our 2 dogs, he is the only one that comes 100% of the time when you call his name.

My advice is to go to your local shelter or check out www.petfinder.com and find a good siamese or siamese mix to be your buddy. My guy is 10 and a half years old now, hope he has another decade in him. I can't imagine my life any other way.

the one of the left died of kidney failure a few months ago
the one in the middle is afraid of everything
and the one on the right is now 19 and fairly healthy other than allergies and feline herpes. LOL.

Forget breeds - go for good old fashioned american bastards adopted from a shelter. They will be friendlier, and you'll be helping the stray/orphan beast population...

Indeed the best way is just to walk into your local shelter with no breed pre requirements. Go around and look em over, talk to them, look at the specs, age ect and just see what happens. Maybe you want a quieter cat, male vs female, poss one might be declawed, which altho not recommended may suit you.

Things work out if you go in looking for a friend.

I've befriended (cats own you, you don't own them) about 5 diff breeds. They all have diff skills as it were.

If you don't want to rescue or chase maimed mice, birds ect around your house at random times for 10 years then don't get a cat. Cats live for one thing: To hunt, esp at night.

My current cat has caught over 50 mice/year for 10 years.. (not counting birds) figuring there is at least one more rodent not brung inside, that is 1000 mice, vermin, rodents / lifetime (which really benefits society) and 500 YOU will have to deal with. Some will escape the cat and live in the house a few days.

The one other thing I will say is if you adopt one.. it is for life.

I can think of lots more but heres a good link of breeds with pics if you didnt see it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cat_breeds

I never met a cat I didn't like.. but have made the mistake of feeding a few strays too.. through many winters of negative temps.

Good luck and congratz.
