Learning 3D programs is like going to medical school!

I swear there is so much bullshit to take in at once just for a basic model design! I should be studying brain surgery!

What kind of 3D programs? It is very tedious work indeed, even too much for me (as a programmer). 3D modelling is only half the battle, try getting into animation.

Yeah, that's where I'm at. The modeling and animation is only a tenth of the battle, materials and textures are the real ball buster (then there's lighting which kind of goes with materials and textures)! You can't tell if you're doing as good as you should be unless you have enough power for the right output and a fast enough processor to render all of it.

I'm about to buy two more computers I think.

What are you using? I've worked with Lightwave, 3D Studio Max, and back in the day AutoCAD. Forget about skinning I'm no artist...

Right now, 3D max again. Things are coming back cause I tried this before but trying to concentrate harder as long as my sales keep up on their own and I don't have to get over there and tweek things.

I'm using poser too, but it feels very limited. It has the characters already designed though so I'm thinking I can put them into and out of 3D max with obj imports and exports and vice versa

Yeah, it's so time consuming though, it doesn't seem you could ever get more than a quality scene done in a life time without a crew.

I read a news article once about brain surgery. Did you know that brain surgery can be performed while the person is still conscious? The brain feels no pain. The doctor asked the patient while he was cutting his brain, "do you feel any pain?" and the patient replied, "no." The doctor was careful not to cut the part of the brain that controls speech.

Hannibal Lector did this to Ray Liota in the third sequel that was pretty bad, but SILENCE OF THE LAMBS was awesome and RED DRAGON, the novel was one of my favorite books of all time. It started out that I thought I was reading horror story but it turned out to be one of these profiler things they are exploiting these days
