It's frightening because there are people... people I know... who have said this very thing, and were completely serious about it.

Obama's understanding of the economy stops at spending ;) To me he's much like a kid with his first credit card. He has a bunch of great ideas on how the world "should be" and he has this credit device that just spews out cash to make it happen!

But he knew that going in. He wanted the job and said he could make it all better but every thing he touches turns into an even bigger mess.

Welp, glad he was able to help some people...

It sounds like it was tough to qualify for, rightfully so! Or many people made enough money but really didn't qualify and backed out. What's sad is the banks though...bunch of greedy bastards.

I guess we can rejoice knowing that tax money will be saved and some people are still in homes, saving on average $514 a month, not bad.

This doesn't look like a failure to me, it just didn't go as big as they wanted. Failure would be not doing anything and all those people losing out that only needed some help.

Obama's failure is the same failure tied with the liberals. They live in a "what ought to be" world, rather than in "what is". It's quite embarrassing and humorous at the same time.

The program has not failed, it has and continues to help many. Those dropping out live in homes that they can not afford, and never should have bought.

The program was designed to help responsible homeowners.

If we were to focus on "what is" we would focus on what is working, and this program clearly works... however "what is" happening, is not enough qualified people are using it.

It does suck to live in a "ought to be word", hell the Country ought to be better, jobs ought to be better, life ought be better.... but hey, no reason to think about that, it's embarrassing and humorous to think of a better tomorrow.

Its funny seeing the rightwingers get happy over a failure to help all those people that last week they were calling crooks who bought homes they knew they couldn't afford.

Apparently because the program is strict enough that most people don't qualify, and it's only a bailout to people who can actually afford the home they bought.

But having integrity about consistency isn't a wingnut strength.

So, for all the rest of us, we are all still stuck with millions of excess empty or foreclosing homes, and with falling or frozen home values as all those excess houses slowly get pushed thru the economy.

And we'll be stuck with millions of unwanted homes for years to come.

It will be even funnier if the tea party fields a successful roster of candidates in 2012. I wonder what their policy towards the excess homes and foreclosures will be?

Yes, how dare Obama's government even attempt to help people who took out loans they knew that they couldn't make the payments for. I mean, dog forbid there be any personal responsibility here, as in the banks taking hits for loans that they knew better than to make but made anyway in order to sell the worthless loans as AAA-rated debt packages. I guess it's all Obama's fault, as he was in charge the last 16 years. That fucker!

the last straw for me with him was the politicizing of the oil disaster to push cap&trade. while he never mentioned *cap&trade* in the speech, that's exactly what he's doing instead of using the oil disaster to clean up the fucking oil disaster.

Yep. Only one column in that ledger---"credit". Sadly, there's no such thing as a free lunch.

Correct, why would they bail out people that couldn't even afford the reduced rate, let alone what they have now and/or why would they bailout people that can clearly afford it but are being stupid with money?

They wanted to give it to people that could actually use it and benefit from it.

Couldn't agree with you more.. It's that twisted logic that often does bewilder the liberals.

You're assuming he's trying to fix things rather than make it worse. He's doing great in total destruction. Just look at the Gulf oil spill.

Yeah, Obama wants "total destruction" and is directly and personally responsible for the BP oil spill.
