Felony arrests in order for photographers and journalists to hide the BP oil spill disaster

Heard it on CNN. the gov made some laws to prohibit people from seeing dead animals and oil coated everything and how bad stuff really is. if you go near any kind of oil stuff and take pics you get a 40k fine and a felony arrest. in other news, BP is gathering all the dead animals at sea and burning them at sea to keep the public from seeing it.

That's keeping it real!

Way to go USA.

the one time i tuned in to cnn they were doing a full story on an octopus that would guess the outcome of world cup soccer matches based on which basket the octopus ate out of,

so this story has merit if it was seen on cnn!

they need to get about 5000 people all with cameras to go there at once...they can't arrest them all.

A 65 feet boundary to keep people out the fucking way of those actually doing cleaning up the mess. Not exactly censorship - especially as they would be the same people moaning their tits off if someone accidentally knocked their camera in the sea because they were too busy looking through it to move when needed.

I think it is a reasonable safety rule...and does not impede the taking of pictures...as cameras can use telescopic lenses. Originally the Coast Gaurd was either going to or had a 300 foot rule and with the idiots that serve in the press this would actually sounds more reasonable than 65 feet...at least to me.

65 feet doesn't seem like a big deal at first, but, if there is a boom surrounding an entire island, that means you cant get on the fucking island!

so yes it's a big deal IMO.

I can't believe how bad this situation is, and worse it is getting. There's no reason at all to block the press & photographers. This is only going to make things worse for Obama and BP.

Fucking Sheep.

I swear, your all fucking sheep.

It's common fucking sense that they want to keep people away from the booms and or other ships operating in the gulf. I'm pretty fucking sure it's a standard rule across the fucking country that you can't come within sixty-five feet of another ship at sea or what not.

Speaking of sheep..

Many feel 65 feet is ok, but even that's too much when miles of boom is stretched all along the shores and waterways preventing access to anywhere even remotely near the oil; effectively forcing photographers far further away than 65 feet.

And for anyone suggesting zoom lenses - good luck with that from 10, 20, 50 miles away - and even if one has uber-zoom lenses, seeing the ocean surface over the curvature of the Earth will be an issue. Umm, flying over would be easier, but wait, that's restricted too.

Rambling on, bottom line the so-called safety restrictions are NOT about safety, but rather all about cover-up. BP is running the show - the less the public sees, the less BP has to pay out; continue to do business as usual.

Ron

Nothing to see here, move along. Obama has a 65 post limit on the oil spill.
