What domain registrar do you use?

I want to get away from Godaddy...

What domain registrar do you suggest?

My honest non-affiliate-link opinion given I own 2000+ domains: NameCheap or Moniker if you don't have a lot of names, Fabulous if you have a lot of names and can thus get into their wholesale program. Fabulous owns everyone else by a mile IMO.

GoDaddy is actually great if you don't use the domains for sites...no comparison to Fabulous but I prefer them to Moniker and Namecheap given I buy domains to sell, not to develop. I can however certainly understand why people would want to get away from having their domains at GoDaddy if they develop on them hence the rec's above. GoDaddy is a "shoot first and ask questions later" type when they get complaints.

Fabulous is OK, but not my favorite.

BTW, they are an Australian company.

If you don't mind paying a little extra ($15 per .com) Directnic is great. In my experience their support is excellent. Namecheap is also good for a cheaper budget but I have no experience with their support.

If you have enough domains (minimum 750) to get an invitation into Fabulous wholesale program, I really recommend them. Else, given that you want to move away from Godaddy I would say that in my opinion Moniker have better mass-administration tools to manage multiple domains at once. I might have done something wrong but at Namecheap I last time had to go in and manually add domain privacy (which is included) to 20 domains one by one. And it's a few clicks each time, so it took a few minutes when it could have been done via some "add to all feature".

So
1. Fabulous, hands down. They themselves own one of the largest private domain portfolios in the world and the tools they create to handle that portfolio are the same tools they share with you. Domain privacy is included.
2. Moniker, with all their flaws, domain privacy which sometimes are non-functioning even if paid - after all they do the job and it's fast and easy to manage multiple domains at once. Domain privacy is extra though, so you end up paying more per domain and year than at Namecheap or Fabulous.
3. Namecheap, resellers for Enom. Reliable but with a little easy-cheesy control panel. Lacks a few feature you want if handling multiple domains. Includes domain privacy which makes them cheaper in total than Moniker.

I have used www.Moniker.com for more than just domain registry. They are the best with transfers as well as LARGE escrows. I would highly advise going with them and I am speaking from 4yrs of experience & multiple large domain sales and purchases.
