Ferrari To Duesenberg - And everything between.(pics)

Spent the day at the Milwaukee lakefront at the annual car show. A lot of these cars were just shown at Pebble Beach.

In the background you see a sail shaped building. That is the Art Museum that was designed by Santiago Calatrava. A few weeks ago they used it and the entire downtown area to film the next Transformer film.

That's all.

That was an after thought. Didn't want to leave out the bike fans. There was a corral of vintage bikes there too but I don't know much about them. The Indian was the only bike picture I took.

After more than 50 years, there is a new BAT model. The BAT 11 made its début in Geneva, at the time of the 2008 Geneva Auto Show, though not at the show itself. The new BAT 11, based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, shares many styling cues with the classic BAT cars of the 50s.[5]

This is what wiki has to say about it.

Unfortunately I had to scale these pics down to post them here. The finish and paint on everything at the show was amazing. There were a few roadsters that had the windscreens so clean that you had to look close to even tell if there was one.

Think they called that Tangerine if I recall. Is it that almost pinkish orange color and black? My dads 56 Golden Hawk had the same pinkish tangerine color and white. Won 3 best of shows at the national studebaker meet. Had my body work and paint on it for the last trophy it won (was done originally in lacquer and as you know that eventually will start to crack, I redid it in base coat clear coat. The 55 Speedster president of mine was fully done by me other that interior work was sent out, and sent the engine out to be fully done. Needed bored etc which I didn't have the tools to do at the time. Frame off restore, frame done in an acid dip (sometimes we just get media blasting done, but this one was acid dip if I recall. Coated in por-15 so as its stored in around 73 degrees year round in climate controlled environment Ill probably end up giving it to one of my grand kids some day. lol

Tried to look at chip book listings from 55 but can't find the exact color name online, but pretty sure it was tangerine.

Well shit, now that I look closer I think what is on that car was the original color scheme that was on mine, but with it being all faded (on mine when I got it) I didn't realize it was the same. I went with the slightly off white color instead of the pinkish color. ;)

Here's a link to the fullsize pic. It shows the colorscheme better.

Nice shots

I like the way they staged the cars with lots of room between them.
I haven't been to a show with a selection like that yet but hopefully I will some day.
It would be a nice change from all the exotics I've been stuck with lately.

When I was about ten they had the street version in a car dealer's show room and we would drive by and I could barely see it but thought it was the coolest thing ever. There wasn't anything else like it and I wanted a closer look.

One day I busted the boundary lines my Mom laid down and rode my bike about an hour to that south Miami dealership and checked it out from inside the show room. It was that bright green color and I don't remember what the sticker price was but it was awesome. Felt a little guilty but didn't get caught. Sure wish I had some pictures of that.
