ok you "global warming is fraud" people

i have really had it with you ignorants ... there are TWO astronomical FACTS that will defuse all your gabbing ...

#1 - the earths orbit around the sun changes a bit every about 100k years ... right now we are in a HIGHER orbit which SHOULD cause a declination of temperatures - and yet the earth warms up!

#2 - we are currently undergoing a "mounder period" of solar spots which means less activity and SHOULD cause a declination of temperatures - and yet the earth warms up!

so, stop your ignorant rants plz

also, the artic ice shield, formerly covering the equal of the USA in size has shrunk by the states east of mississippi (22 states) and lost 1/3 of its thickness so plz do your homework NOW!

geez

i guess you will wake up when the methane hydrid in alaska combusts and is ignited by a lightning ... it will BLOW your ass outta the water

Whether or not global warming is real, whether or not global warming is man made, the real question is: Will the countermeasures proposed such as carbon credit trading do anything to stop it? or are they just a scheme to make a small group of people very rich at the expense of the rest of us?

Their leader, Sarah Palin, told them not to worry about such silly things, anything that happens Jesus will fix.

People make assumptions on hundreds of years or temperature stats(maybe even around 100 years only), which is a joke compared to the earth's age, which is how much, 4 billion? We don't know shit and can't predict shit on the information we have. But its a great agenda to tax people on more bullshit.

Al Gore just bought ocean front property, guess he thinks the ocean levels are going to be ok?

i did NOT say its manmade! but lets face it; CO2 and methane DO have an effect on the climate, not? so, if we keep going like we do, we DO support the climate change ... and it soon could turn into a spiral we cannot stop anymore ... visit santa barbara channel and witness the methane bubbles there - it HAS begun --- and more methane means mother earth will heat up; causing MORE methane hydrid to melt ... and dont forget, there is an estimated amount of 10000 BILLION TONS of that shit on ground of the oceans! the impact right now may be small, but the more we ignore it, the worse it gets ... god wont help you

First of all you need to keep up with the latest news. Its no longer "global warming" its now "climate change"

Second until these "meteorologists" aka "weather guessers" can predict what the the weather will be like next week then theres no point in listening to them when they tell us what will happen in 50 or 100 yrs.

shit... now I wish I had gotten that swine flu shot... oh wait.....

Shall we name a few other "iminent" environmental disasters that were 100% backed by the media and "scientists"?

Just in my remembered history...

Acid rain
Deforestation
Soil erosion
Ozone layer
An ice age is coming
Global warming

ALL were said to be a possible end to mankind. Thank GOD all those scientists know their shit, and aren't in it for the government grant money phew...

ehh? you fully miss it there its not about guessing ... 1000s of years old probes of ice give a clue how climate was back then; and the combination of gases SHOW what earth was LIKE back then - if we head for the SAME gas combination we will face the SAME environment ... its not about weather, its about climate - which is a HUGE difference or would you say those - how you call them - weather guessers just say there were ice ages and you say it never happened?! hmm? there is no more guessing at this point ... reread the facts about the arctic ice shield ... 33% lost within 30 years ... it will be 75% by 2050 (assuming the CO2 emissions DONT increase - which they do) ...

that is a good example for ignorance!
acid rain: it stopped when filters and shit were applied to coal powerplants - defused
deforestastion: still continues but is now named desertification (even the chinese now have 1000s of ppl planting trees to STOP that) - defuse
soil erosion: it still goes on - with the raising of the sea level lotta land gets lost - defused
ozone layer: damage to it was significantly lowered by banning FCKW (flour chloride) widely in EU and US - defused

keep talking shit and close your eyes

If Al Gore or any of those nut jobs actually believed that global warming was man made they would not be doing what they are doing. They would be living in dirt huts screaming for others to do the same, not riding around in limos, private jets, buying more than one house that consumes a multitude more energy than 1 regular home, buying ocean front property, not flying in private jets, getting into limos, followed by body guards in SUVs to a "global warming summit" when it all can be done via video chat.

LMAO!!!!! Yes defused on ozone layer, yet it remains the same size as what it was in the 50's when it was discovered. Yes they managed to fix the problem by outlawing many types of freons, made new less effective coolants, and charge CRAZY prices for those. Hmm wonder who's pockets all that "new found" revenue goes into?

The ozone layer is roughly 130% thicker at the poles, and much thinner at the equator. WHERE is the supposed "hole" in the ozone layer located? Are you worried about the polar bears getting skin cancer now as well as them drowning from the caps melting?

Seriously you call anyone that doesn't believe the "hype" ignorant, yet you are HAPPY to follow the bullshit proclaimers down their primrose paths.

Its amazing how science has managed to defuse.... all these situations.

I just wish I hadn't bought that expensive suit to protect my skin from acid rain...

Less pollution means less people getting diseases which means less money for pharmaceutical companies and the health care industry. Having stricter laws on air and water pollution means more costs to some companies which equals less profit. Republicans will put a companies bottom line over peoples health and the environment.

How do you pack so much conspiracy theory into so few lines? More costs to produce something does not mean less profit, it some cases it means more. They just pass the costs to you.

the problem is that you will not like my answer. you show up in every thread like this and belittle people that don't share your opinion. I for example believe that outlawing poisenous chemicals like the old coolant liquids and replacing them with more environmental friendly alternatives is a good thing. and you will now tell me that i am stupid for believing that the old ones did any harm. thats why a discussion is fruitless

spot on. the thing is that the US is by now about 20 years behind a country like Germany in these things. All these discussions i remember from my childhood, just that here something was done. Gas is much more expensive, energy too. Emission laws are WAY more strict. And what happened? Air got better, rivers are much cleaner, less forrests are dying. And Germany is one of the leading countries in exporting "green" technologies and many jobs have been created that way.

you people keep telling that things will not work that have been proven to work since decades, you're just to arrogant to accept that someone is doing it better.

ah, and before i forget: your biggest problem BY FAR are the armies of lobbyists that are paid to keep things in the shitter where they are

Sounds like your entire theory is based on ice yet you never mentioned the slight increase in ice coverage on Antarctica, conveniently you left that out.

The Ice Age ending and caused the ice to melt, now we're in a glacial period, which we've had before. All of which can melt all the ice like it has before or cover most of the planet in ice, as it has before - without an ice age. Less ice equals more co2, methane, and pesky things like water vapor and it means more sun hitting the oceans warming things up even more. Which creates a huge chain reaction. Of course it has been a great deal warmer before than what it is today... guess we did did that too. Which means we have had much more of these deadly gases we live on each day floating around. It's odd though how rain, oceans, dirt, storms, plants, rocks and lots of shit filter it out. It's almost like mother nature has had to deal with this before without killing everything on the planet.

Oh really? Why did BP take financial shortcuts which caused the worst spill in history? Maybe because it meant MORE PROFIT.

Why did Bush repeal Clintons policy to reduce the allowable concentration of arsenic (a chemical linked to cancer) in drinking water from 50 parts per billion to 10 parts per billion? He did the same thing with air pollution and turned around and called it The Clean Air Act. Why did Bush and the rest of the republicans do this? Thats no conspiracy, that is a fact.

see, that's why a discussion with you is fruitless, you choose to ignore everything that does not fit your agenda.
and yeah, the germans were pretty progressive: rockets, jet airplanes, nuclear research... without my captured nazi ancestors you would not have had a nuclear bomb and no mission to the moon. but at least you left some indians alive so that you can have casinos.

Really grasping at straws here. Im not even going to bother.

You have to remember that the bible-thumpers don't care what they do to the earth. They figure that once the rapture happens, it won't matter anymore, so if they destroy the quality of the air and water to enrich themselves now, so be it. Gawd put the earth here for them to use as they see fit and who cares about damage done? They see animals in the same way - just here for their amusement.

Guess who's next!

That's right, Earth.

Earth is next in line to be a toasted piece of space rock orbiting our ever enlarging Sun.

So I guess that means we should speed up the process and pump out as many greenhouse gases as we can, so that we can trap more of the Sun's heat. Only libertarian hippy dumbasses would like to prolong imminent doom, so that they can turn Earth into hell, where they can smoke their pots with satan and his demons.

But seriously, now is the time to stop arguing petty semantics, start consuming less and start seriously considering inter-planetary travel and sustaining life in space.

I think hell fire preachers like Al Gore and his nut job followers should practice what they preach and not worry so much about forcing others to do what they are not willing to do

Nothing wrong with cleaning up our local environment, making sure we don't over pollute, all that good crap. For our own sakes, our kids sakes, the food we eat, our water, etc.

But even if man just disappeared from earth tomorrow, nothing bad ever produced again. Earth is still going to warm up, the ice is still going to melt, and the exact same thing would have happened and still will happen either way, in the same time period.

It was happening before man ever could have created it to happen, it's happened before without man, and it will happen again with man.

presumably then you know the way that the current models predict and explain the slight antarctic increase?

I'd be interested in seeing if you have that level of knowledge of the topic - or are you just repeating something fox news told you to repeat? It's a simple answer, something that has been in the news over and over again - what is it?

...

ultimately it's pointless to try to argue something as complex as the science behind the models with people who have intentionally chosen to promote a simplistic political model.

you also have to accept that the science haters WILL win, in the short term.

I believe you are referring to the Maunder Minimum which was between 1645–1715 during a "Little Ice Age".

Also, I believe that the recent period of little to no sun spots has ended recently and many say that the earth has been cooling the last 10 years.

bam! hammer to the nail! THAT is 100% my thots bout US ignorants (focus on RANTS, lol) ... they will know when everyone is doing better then them and then they start a war to catch up or bring others down its the problem of a country considering itself "above" ... germany did last century but we LEARNED instead of insisting on "what is good today will be good anytime" ... why do US folks think "green" is bad? presumably then you also know the part of the global warming model that explains why this happens? and why more ice and snow in the antarctic is probably caused by global warming?

a news magazine like nat geo is not science, its news, but there does seem to be a slight increase in snow deposit in antartica, and the northern hemisphere, especially the northern arctic, does seem to be warming faster than the southern hemisphere and antarctic.
