Looking for the best rates for card processing

I have a site (should be very low risk) being developed, and currently I am with faced with fees of 25% (with discounts based on volume) - however, I won't hit that volume a while - I need a lower % to start up so I can encourage participants on the site.

Are there any providers out there who can offer me better deals?

Hopefully ones with modern APIs and such, but I will work with any reliable provider that will not be disappearing or having to go out of business soon

Please feel free to send an email to [email protected] or private message me on here, or reply publicly, if it is appropriate.

Thanks all!

Try Zombaio they go as low as 4.9% and are very modern.

Weird, I didn't get any email notifications of these replies.

/me will have to check his settings/spam

Thanks, I made a quick edit too. It is an adult-oriented site, but I consider it to be lower risk than a normal site due to it's nature. A related website is already live and out there, and is using Epoch. That is where the 25% rate is coming from.

[EDIT] Okay, I can't edit the first post, I forgot there's a timer here.

25% for Epoch? That seems about double their highest rates I've seen. What niche are you in to warrant that kind of rate?

Oh jesus, I've been quoting this the entire time.

I went back and looked it said 15% from $0-$5k.

Boy, I feel stupid now. I don't know where I got that 25% number. However, if anyone can beat 15% and is as "stable" as Epoch is, I'm open for discussion.

Dear ccbill (and verotel) - please update your APIs and services to act like it's 2010! Thank you.

Looks like Zombaio works like Verotel - they post information to my server. Which means if there is any traffic interruption during the attempts, the transaction fails.

I'd kinda like to have an API where I capture the details (note: don't save) but submit them on behalf of the user using HTTPS and perhaps XML or POST parameters and get back success or failure. Then do rebills myself, and manual "one time" charges as well.

I have a non-adult merchant already.

But netbilling does have a direct API. that would be nice. It looks like it even has the option to store card details?
