The real problem is most of the people on the internet in general simply cannot compete in the year 2010.

Alot of people want the "old timers" back. But they left for obvious reasons. They cannot hack it in the year 2010 and so they cut their losses and closed up shop.

A businessman is a businessman very few times will a businessman walk away from a project for no reason. 99% of the time it is because it is not profitable.

and 99% of webmasters these days do not know how to make it so they are leaving.

It takes real skill now. Not just toss up a site, watch sales come in and have beers with your buddies. People are realizing this, and at the same time realizing how far behind and how much time they wasted with things that "could have been".

These are the same guys who dont like the new people making money telling them how it is. Times have changed. Get the move on.

Maybe I should go find a "tube" site for reports and articles and get a "shared" version of what you paid 5K for, so I can have it for free.

I know there are companies here making 7 figures a month. But there is a lot less of them now then there was a couple years ago, that is my point. What 90% of the people have lost, 10% of the people didn't not make up plus more. Sure a few companies are going up, but most are going down. Overall porn sales are down, you need to provide more than a couple reports I can't read to convince me otherwise.

So they now work less because the weight of their "reach" (which may include literally hundreds or even thousands of websites) allows them to. They have their own "mini-web" of stickiness that keeps them rolling in dough.

3. They flamed out on drugs/booze/BiPolar Disorder, whatever,and are now struggling to climb their way back to "the top".

4. They retired, died, got married, moved to an island, who knows.

But those who are left and posting here on GFY, I would imagine, fall into category #2, like Shap or Roald (to name a couple examples). Man, i was jackin' it to their shit ten years ago!! Props to both.

So times change, new blood comes in, fucks everything up yet keeps things lively, and so on.

For someone in charge (or at least the appearence of being) for a multi million dollar company you sure aren't too bright with these issues.

You can't begin to compare movies on torrents vs free porn. Free porn has tube sites, movies do not. Free porn has always been watched in the home, on the PC in privacy. Movies are watched on TVs, most of the time with multiple people in a living room, not huddled around a PC monitor in a bedroom. People also enjoy going to the movies and going the "movie experience". The cost to rent a new release movie is as low as $1, why do something illegal when you can get it legally so cheap. Using torrents is 1000x harder, subject to viruses, and non user friendly than tube sites. Some people dont want to wait forever to download a movie. Should I go on why your comparison of pirated movies vs pirated porn sucks.

increase in traffic does not = increase in sales. I don't care how many billions of hits tube sites have, over all there is less porn sales today. period. I attribute that just as much to people's credit cards being maxed out, limits being reduced, cards being turned off, etc. to it being from the ease an increase of free porn.

And knowing Eric, I know he has the common sense that if a person emailed him and said: "Hey, I'm just starting out and this is what I do (write blogs, program, whatever)"

He does that NOW. This board is closed to the general public right now and you can't read it without logging in. And he is taking a close look at new registrations is what I've been told.

So NONE of that would change.
