The evidence points to us evolving from Chimpanzees which are members of the Ape family, different then monkeys, for one, they have no tails.

In Indonesia there was a race of little dudes (homo floresiensis) a close human family relative to Homo Sapiens but tiny little fuckers.. Full grown they were 3 feet tall with a brain the size of a grapefruit. They lived as recently as 12,000 years ago but they branched off from Sapes approx 800,000 years ago...

I saw a program about that on National Geographic. It was very interesting and even though the evidence was thin it made interesting viewing. It seems there's a split on whether they evolved like that or adapted to that form to fit the environment of the island.

One of the upsides of sitting at home doing nothing is I get to watch a lot of TV. Some like Nat Geo or History Channels. Learning a lot.

Darwin never wrote or even suggested that we evolved from monkeys. That whole monkey thing was the product of of the popular press of the time, egged on by the infamous Scpoes Monkey Trial of the 1920s. Go read "On The Origin of Species" if you want to find out what he really wrote.

Very much as Christians actually know very little about what the Bible says (The know a lot about what others have told them it says!), most people who write and talk about Darwin only know what they have been told and have no idea what the man actually wrote.

Only a COMPLETE IDIOT believe that we are "evolved" from Monkeys. According to Darwin's Theory Of Evolution we are from PRIMATES. Monkey are also primates, so monkeys and humans have the same ancestor. However it doesn't mean that monkey is an ancestor of a human.
