Google Webmaster tools

I have a site included in webmaster tools that when I look at the keywords, the most used keyword on the page doesn't appear in the list. Is this Google's way of telling me I've over-optimised for it?

depends on how long you have had the static text in place, how long google webmaster tools has been verifiing your site, and the way you have optimized/tagged those keywords. Based on the info you have given, it's hard to gadge your situation, but i woud be happy to take a look at it for you if needed. Contact info in sig

Probably the first thing to check is if your site have been indexed. Over optimizing can be an issue and so is under optimizing your site.

How long has it been? Sometimes it takes a few weeks for things to show up in there.

Trouble is the keyword in question appears in the domain, title, heading, and the names of several of the sponsor sites it's promoting, so without realising it I've ended up with that keyword occurring 60 times on the page and the next most frequent only 37 times. So obviously it's too many, and yes it has been indexed - Google cache updates less than a day after I make a new post - but I didn't think Google gave you such big clues as to what you've done wrong.
