I use PC but would prefer Mac. Everyone says Macs are expensive, but it would cost more to build a PC to run equal to a Mac, IMO. However I believe it is the software not the hardware. Windows blows.

I prefer using my iMac, but still have a windows notebook for odds and ends... Interestingly enough though, I have Win 7 Ultimate installed on the iMac via bootcamp...

Cant remember the last time I booted into it though.

I think I was afraid of not having Windows when I got the mac, but after a month and a half, I forgot all about the Win 7 Install LOL

Mac is just a regular PC brand like ASUS, or Dell (the same hardware inside). So the question is incorrect. As about the operating system, so of course it's Windows.

When I first started posting here, there were only a handful of us using Mac hardware.

At the time I had my Power Mac and one of the first iMacs.

If you're actually doing business and not playing with pictures and sound waves then, Windows, ESPECIALLY in a networked environment.

I did buy a couple of Mac's a few years ago.

But the magic has worn off...When I went to price a new 17" Macbook I found it would be more than $3k to get what I could get in Win7 for $1500. That's i7 CPU and 8 gigs of RAM.

The Iphone is unbeatable tho..

I've walked into the Apple store so many times looking at the 27-Inch iMac and it's very nice. My only issue is, how long will it take me to learn or get use to the mac if I swap from Windows.

it's Mac, not MAC. It's not an acronym. Also I've worked with unix for 15+ years and also dabble with graphics and web design and I prefer the Mac. Lots of software developers do, too.

Two years ago I would have said a Mac. I still have and love my 2007 Core2Duo Macbook.

And hey, this is 2010, 3.5 years later.

GUESS WHAT THEY ARE STILL SELLING IN THEIR MACBOOK LINEUP
That's right - the same core2duo that must be cheap as hell for them by now and are 2 years too old.

I'd buy a Macbook pro 13" in a heartbeat if it came in core i7. 15" is too large for me.

And their towers are a ripoff. My GF just built a PC that, configured exactly (and with a superior video card because Mac doesn't support cuda video rendering), comes out to $9k as a Mac tower. Her cost? Just under $3k with some deals on parts.

So, whenever a core 13" i7 macbook pro comes out I'll get that and for now Steve Jobs can suck me. I've given him enough money already.

Though I might just go with an i7 Windows for a main workhorse and get one of the new Airs for the super portable option. Those are quite sexy all things considered.

The last two or three times I've bought a computer I've always said "I'm going with a mac next time" yet here I am still with Windows.

I use Mac to do most of my workload. But I do have a pc laptop to make sure all my work is correct, and that all my websites look correct. I found that editing photos and video is so much easier on a mac. I know of other webmasters that swear by the pc, but I must say I am a mac girl. To each his own ;)
Kisses,
Barbi
