they do not seem to use any other site.

in fact many do not seem to have email.

I would agree with you on any other site at any other time but it's going to take something major to topple FaceBook and I don't see it happening anytime soon. They've integrated their login into thousands of websites online, that feature alone is nearly impossible to top.

Don't hate on facebook, embrace it. It's traffic numbers are insane whether or not you use it for personal or business reasons.

Think outside of the box and there is a shit load of money to made using it. If you think I'm wrong? It's fine by me. Point is? It's money, and still many untapped resources on there.

I'm speaking from a general point of view, and i just don't really see the point in it. Infact i'll change that, i just don't get how people can spend all day on it. Getting in touch with people is one thing, spending all day everyday on there is another. For me, people have turned Facebook into Twitter. Posting what they are doing now, what they are gonna do next, what they bought, what they are thinking of buying. I just don't see the need for this, or why other people are so interested in reading about it.


Like i say, the internet used to be about so much more. Now, it's like nothing else matters since everyone is doing the same damn thing. Just find it all really boring, attention seeking, and pointless to be honest...

Just this past month an old friend sent me a link to their new business, I was invited to a halloween party from a distance friend with an RSVP option, a local band reminded me of a show their doing, pictures of my nephew dressed up for Halloween were posted, I found out a friend got engaged, read that one friend who was in the hospital is doing OK and watched a video of another friends wedding.

If you don't like FaceBook then you are doing it wrong.

Not really, I do not use Facebook to "keep in touch". In fact, I have no personal Facebook at all. I have no need for one.

I could give 2 shits about what that buddy in high school is doing these days, nor could he give 2 fucks what I am doing. Should I add him as a frind to just pretend?

Fuck that shit... I have been out of school for quite a few years now. We have our own lives. That old band? Who fucking cares. I have a closet full of late 90's CDs I could listen to at any time and reminisce.

My nephews and nieces? I have my sister's email address and she emails them to me... and oh yeah, that invention called the telephone works quite nicely... even better than the internet.

I could see kids that left school like 5 years or less ago liking it, but for us 30+ people? It's just plain gay. You can not relive your child hood days no matter how hard you try. Grow up...

I have shit to do. I can go on Facebook and talk to pretty much everyone I know in 2 minutes total. Otherwise I can sit here flinging emails and phone calls all fucking day because I'm some old school dipshit that can't comprehend why anyone would want to do it in a superior way. Facebook is used by teens WORLDWIDE to communicate. Millions of them (billions?). Not just by computer - through their cellphones, iphones, blackberries as well while they're out and about, in class, etc. Constantly. 24/7. Teens probably spend more time communicating through Facebook than they do in person, or even on the phone.

In fact, they use the faceboook private message over the email.

FACEBOOK is the internet for most people. They also scare going somewhere else when they see the message: "WARNING: You are going out of a secure area of facebook".

That's why most forums lost a lot of traffic, people use facebook and other people use twitter, nothing else.

The GREAT web became extremely minimalistic. INVOLUTION, that's for sure.

You're right. My daughter uses her Blackberry and Facebook to organize and co-ordinate her college projects and assignments.

As phones get smarter, though, Facebook is going to become less and less relevant. To the point where it'll become an unnecessary inconvenience. Then all that will be left at Facebook is a bunch of people you don't want to talk to, Farmville, and annoying relatives who will still phone you every Sunday.

Facebook is a middleman - and no matter how big they get, middlemen are always expendable.
