How do I get traffic (NOT looking to make money)

Hi all,

Glad to have found this place.

I'm a complete newbie to adult web sites, (but not to websites in general, I'm web developer at my day job), and looking for help. I've started a site for nail polish fetish - redfingernails.com. I'm doing this because there are no good sites catering to this kind of fetish (apparently it's very rare), so I'm not looking to make money with my site. But I am looking to make this site popular, so my question is - how do I get traffic for my site? I'm a complete n00b to internet pr0n.. so any help would be appreciated.

I know my content is good.. I hand-pick every video, and write a blog article with original description... And even though I have very little traffic, I've got a lot of good feedback from people with similar fetish already. So my dream is to make this site a go-to hub for my (very narrow) niche. What can I do? Since my goal is not to make money, I want to keep costs down, too. Some of the things I've been thinking about:

Write blog articles
Comment on appropriate youtube videos
Submit to directories (although that doesn't seem to be too effective)
Trade links
..

what else? The problem is my niche really seems rare: there are NO similar sites anywhere: there are long nails and foot fetish sites, but it's not quite the same.

Oh and question about clips4sale.com and similar sites? I found a store that sells exactly the kind of videos I need. What can I do if I buy it? Can i put it on my site, or a tube site to draw traffic to it? Or if I buy it, it's only for "personal use"?

Thank you!!!

There aren't any sites out there that cater to guys with a fetish like this, so finding porn that you like is problematic. I want to help out everybody else out who has the same problem. Don't get me wrong - I'm not opposed to making money, if it happens, it happens, but that's not my goal. I'm doing this as a hobby and I'd rather get more people appreciating my work.

Personally I think that anything fetish denotes a targeted user base, or " Niche or Targeted Market" the more specific the fetish is the smaller demographic of users, finger nail polish fetishist as far as a user base? You've just added a hundred power scope to plucking traffic.

My opinion personally would be to get a Forum instead of a website and try to grow a fanbase more so then anything else especially considering it's a free site.

Bare in mind finger nails also fall under a hobbiest, glamour category.

Just my 2cents,..

Thanks taken300.

It would be very nice, yeah... Unfortunately, SEO costs $$$.. and I'm not looking to spend money on my site just yet. I do think about search engines with every post that I write, but I'm afraid that's not enough. Are there any free ways to build traffic you can recommend?

You can start your own small "support blogs" on different free hosts to build links which will help you SEO wise.

You can create a free blog here:
http://www.thumblogger.com/
and at http://blogspot.com (just be sure to mark it adult or they will close it down!)
create maybe 2-3 blogs on each, with a minimum of say 10 posts on each blog.

You can also join fetish forums, anser questions there and post your link in the answer. Write quality answers, not some cheap, borig, tired shit about blah, blah, blah. Make it interesting, so you would want to follow the link yourself, think QUALITY and deliver it too!

Comment on other fetish blogs. Again QUALITY answers that people would appreciate and want to follow the link onto.

Read other ideas I gave out here:
https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1021665

If you can manage to get 1-5 new links, from a new, different domain, each month, during your first year - then you're doing good. That should get you noted in the search enginges and start bringin people in. Let it take some time.

I think the problem would be finding the keywords relative to the fetish that get any traffic whatsoever. Fingernail Fetish is seached 390 times a month(exact) on google. Probably less than 500 times total, thats worldwide, not local.

There are several other terms: sexy long fingernails, etc. but you would have to be #1 for every term to get any real traffic to speak of, and at best we are talking a few hundred a day if you ranked #1 for ALL of the keywords.

BUT....there really is no competition.

Thanks a lot for very useful advice! I will definitely look into everything and implement it.

I've looked at Google Keyword tool how often this gets searched, and it is kind of discouraging. Maybe I should've done that before starting the site On the other hand, there's only ~ 400 people who are like me in the world (and are online). If you add everybody who doesn't have internet, that's still a few thousand people at most. I feel pretty special
