Critique My Site?

Hey y'all

I've just made a new site (it's exactly one week old today) and I was hoping to get some feedback on it, if anyone wants to check it out

Things I know need to be changed:

1) the galleries are fucked. They work in slideshow but the pics don't 'pop out' properly when clicked on. I haven't had alot of time to look into why it won't work properly but it's on my 'to do list' to figure it out

2) the side panel is a bit of a jumble. On my to-do list is to put in a rotating widget plugin so diff widgets appear on different pages

3) the Fetish page is unfocused. Right now I don't have much content, so rather than have 4 or 5 half-empty pages I've stuck everything together in one. I'll be reorganizing and categorizing it as content grows to make it easy for guys to find exactly what they're looking for

Things I'm wondering:

Is it easy to navigate?

Are the profile pages too sparse in text for good SEO? On the one hand no customer wants to read a 1000 word essay before booking a show, but on the other hand the text is fairly sparse. I was considering adding some brief FAQ info at the bottom of each profile page, but I don't know if that sort of duplicate content will hinder me in the SERPs

I'm doing really well in google right now and I'm sure alot of that is the 'new site' phenomenon, but I'd like to optimize my site for both customers and google as much as is possible so hopefully the rankings stay high and the paying traffic keeps coming

the site is http://independentskypecamgirls.com

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Purely from a design standpoint, you need some contrast. I can't immediately decipher where the navigation is, content, what is adspace, etc and this gives your usability a black eye. Try giving certain divs and headings a slight variant in background coloring and make your navigation readily apparent and consistent on each page of your site.
Also, my personal opinion as an avid porn browser - downsize your text, unless you are shooting for a more narrative experience. However, it seems like the majority of your text is a sales pitch, which I would answer with - let your content sell itself - if you have good content, don't try to sell it with words people may or may not read, just show your awesome content. Text is good for onsite SEO, but even if someone finds your site in the SERPs, chances are they'll bounce immediately because they are looking for something to arouse them NOW and not read an ass load. So keep the text, but make it smaller and less dominant, and add more visual stimulation(photos, screen shots, etc.).

My very 1st comment:
Website name is too big(20+ characters does't do very good for SEO atleast, well that's my thought)

Y'all are fucking awesome, THANK YOU

I've been staring at the site for a week now to the point that I can't really be objective about how it looks to users, particularly those viewing it for the first time, and my friends and partner are hardly objective either when I've asked for their thoughts

What I'm hearing here makes a ton of sense. Thanks for taking the time to write

I'm by no means an expert, but what strikes me about your site is that within seconds of looking at your home page I was able to see exactly what your site is about and what features it offers.

One thing I did notice is that the 'features' page, unlike the home page, doesn't demonstrate how viewers can choose and control the specific actions they want to see. I dunno how important that is (if at all), it's just something I noticed. I do see it demonstrated again on the join page though.

An aside, I love purple so hard

Hope you get some feedback from some people with more experience

The one thing I would say is that the colors are harsh on the eyes. I like the colors themselves, blues, pinks, purples - but they are very fluorescent. On the screen I'm using right now, they are literally a little bit painful to look at. I'd use an overall dark theme, and then use the other colors as highlights only.

I'm by no means an expert, but I'll attempt to throw together a mock up and get back to you when I can.

Nice site. Wordpress?

First thing that hit me was the color scheme. Not sure I'm liking the pink/purple much with the teal text.

Also it took a little white for me to load the homepage and I have some good internet. 3MB homepage and mostly pictures. You can shave off almost a full 2MB if you optimize all the images with yahoo smushit.

You may consider using gzip for your css/js files and enable browser caching for the static assets like the css/js and all images. This can be done easily via your htaccess file.

Try using more brighter theme. My eyes hurt looking for menu tabs. Also black on purple made me blind. I saw this website, junkieporn.net, theme looks very relaxing and pretty nice.

Try removing bold from the body text and making it white or a slight grey color.

^^^thanks for the head's up, Sarettah, and thanks for the feedback, y'all

I'm taking your advice to heart and trying to tone things down a bit. It's still a work in progress but I'm muting things down. I find it boring as hell cuz I love bright color and contrast but since I'm not my target audience muted it shall be

as far as the URL I have a few shorter ones at my disposal, but I'm pretty confident with this one for now since thus far it's working for me. I do appreciate the feedback on that tip, though

@Viper, you guessed right on wp, I'm trying to work with wp cache but it's not going very well so far. Everything you wrote above about load time was (incomprehensible) greek to me but that def is on my 'to do' list once I google every term used in your post The favicon is on the way though

seriously, thanks everyone for taking the time to write. I'm still working on it, experimenting with different things whenever I get a spare moment, but it already looks way better thanks to what I've read here.

gracias
