Text colors
Hi
Looking for 2 colors to create my site name banner. A shiny gold and a shiny silver. Have looked online at those suggested color charts but can't find these two. ![]()

Most likely, what you are looking for can only be achieved with photoshop. The color charts aren't going to help you at all, they are all solid colors.
Is this kind of what you are thinking of? http://blog.lynda.com/wp-content/upl...isode10_01.jpg If so, that's achieved using gradients in photoshop.

you can make something like that with photoscape (free), if you're prepared to play around with it a bit. Shiny isn't a 'color', like TT wrote it's gradient layers of color that give the impression of light reflecting off the image. It's lightest wherever you want the 'light bouncing off' effect and graduates down to darker colors.
Find an image with the type of gold and silver effect you want to replicate and start off with the middle colour (the lightest color) and work your way out with darker layers of 'linear gradient' and 'graduated tint' (both found in the 'filters' section) at the edges. Then just play around with it until you achieve the look you want. If you don't have the time/inclination to try something like that maybe look around for someone with good feedback to hire to make one for you? The prices for banners are pretty inexpensive.

The problem with what you are asking is that the colors you want are not a single color, but an effect created by a gradient of colors.
As others have said, you will need an image editing program like photoshop or gimp to create that effect. For example, the chrome effect used in the image that Tittytweaker (great name, BTW) suggested is a combination of a light blue to white gradient, followed by a shorter dark gray to white gradient.

TY
I've been using Cool Text Logo and Graphics Generator. I got pretty close to what I want with some playing around with the shades.
