Idiots Guide To Starting an Adult Blog...

Starting a blog can sometimes seem very complicated if new to the world of webmastering. Dont worry I have written a guide that anyone can understand to get you blogging in hours time, and maybe even making you some money. So lets get started.

1. Getting a domain name- In my opinion, the domain has nothing to do with your SEO ranking but its nice to have a domain that somewhat relates to the content of your site. If you can get a domain name that has your main keyword in it. If your expecting SE traffic (which is preffered) then using the "-" sign is ok. ie. hot-sexy-girls.com - I have found that this does not really effect your rankings in the search engines. I have listed below some places you can buy domain names.
Once you have found a domain name you like go ahead and buy it. You are on your way to becoming a blogger and the excitement should be very intense.

2. Find Hosting- Finding a good hosting company can sometimes be difficult. When looking for a hosting company the first thing you need to do is make sure they host adult sites. Some hosting companies do not allow this, so make sure they do or your fucked. You want to make sure the company has a good reputation for:
customer service - do they respond in a fasionable and timely manner? Can they provide easy to understand instructions for your questions?
price - make sure your company isnt overcharging you. do some research and compare pricing with some different companies.
Up-time - make sure their servers arent always crashing. the last thing you want is server trouble. Its very easy to loose surfers if your site is down all the time.
Some good hosting companies i recommend are listed below:
HostGator
DreamHost
OC3Networks

MAke sure when buying a package that it has the size you will need for your blog. If you are just starting one then the smallest one is probably ok. Remember, you can always upgrade if needed!

3. Starting your Blog- Ok, so you've got your domain. you've got your hosting account. Now what do you do? Well, first you need some blogging software. They are many scripts you can get that are great for blogging. some of them are free, some cost money. In my opinion, its best to go for the free ones because they work great and so why buy one!? Heres a list of great blogging scripts.
Wordpress - Very simple program and great for seo. Highly recommended!
Autoblogger Pro - Never used
it, but heard its good!
When new to the world of the webmasters, this all can seem very confusing. Its really simple though. Simply download the blogging script you decide to use. Go get a free FTP program so you can upload the script to your host. I recommend CuteFTP . Next you just follow the directions of the readme file or the documentation at the website. (its usually pretty easy)
Once the script is installed on your site you are ready to start blogging!
4. Optimizing your Blog for SEO- Getting to the top of the SE's can be one of the hardest things about having a successful blog. It takes a lot of expirmenting of trial and error. There are many plugins that can optimize your blog for SEO(search engine optimization) to get the maximum potential of your blog. Here are some great wordpress plugins that can dramatically imporve your rankings.
- SEO Title
- Google Sitemap Generator
- Feedwordpress
- Headspace
- Ultimate Tag warrior
Installing these plugins are easy. If using wordpress, just open your FTP client and go to your plugin folder located at yoursite/wp-content/plugins. Put the files in there and then activate them in your blog-admin.
find a good theme- wordpress blogs allow you to totally change the look and feel of your blog. Having a good theme is very important. People dont want to be a at a boring looking blog. Make sure your theme is good to the eyes and has some good images.
5. Finding Sponsors- Finding the right sponsors can be difficult sometimes. Finding the right sponsor is all about trial and error. If your making sales with them, good. If not, maybe you should think about finding a different one. Heres a list of sponsors I have had some luck with.
- BangBros
- Lightspeed
- jaymancash
- girls gone wild
- teenrevenue
- panchodog

These are only a few programs. There are thousands of great programs you can use to make money with. Try different ones and see which ones do the best for you and your new site.
7. Research your keywords - When looking to get to the top of the SEs you need to do some research. Find out which keyword you are going to use before you start writing content on your page. Find a good keyword is very simple. Do not use a keyword that has 300,000 searches a month because you will not be able to compete with the other guys using the term. Go here and find out how much terms are search for. Use a main keyword and see how many times its searched for. Let use "teen porn" as an example. That is searched for 180,000 times last month. We wont be able to compete with that term. Go down the list a way. "teen porn star" was searched for 6,000 times. We could compete with this term better because its longer and not as competitive. As our blog gets bigger and better we can start trying for the more competitive keywords, but for now start small!
6. Writing for SEs - Getting to the top of the SE's mean having content and keyword rich post. Use the keyword you chose for your title. The first thing the SE will see is your title so use your keyword you chose. Be sure you use your term in your post and make it BOLD sometimes. SE reconize that the bold words are important and correlate them with your site. An easy way to see what SEs like is searhing for your term in google. Look at the first site and see what google likes about it. Go here and see the density of the keyword so you know about how much you need to use it in your post. You cannot make too many post. Search engines love fresh content so write up!
7. Getting Backlinks- Backlinks are very important for ranking high in SEs. After making about 10-20 post with good content and using your keywords go HERE and trade links with all these porn blog directories. Some of these directories have high PR and will get your site indexed in days. When adding your link to these directories dont forget to use your keyword as the title and insert in the description a couple times. Once you have traded with all these directories you can chill for a while. SEs dont like it when you instaltly get thousands of backlinks. you wll be penalized. The SEs like "naturally" linking, which is usually a link a day. Remeber, " a link a day doesnt keep the SEs away".( i think thats how it goes). MAke sure you trade links with sites similiar to yours. Try avoiding linkdumps and linkfarms as sites in these usually get penalized by SEs.
8. Congratulations! you have succesffully started an adult blog. Remember to keep making content rich post and trading backlinks at a good rank and you will be up there and making money in no time! I hope i have helped some people who were intersted in know about starting an adult blog. Thanks and goodluck!

My first blogging experience

Maybe it's help somebody, im new into blogs, here is my story:

I generated six blogs in two runs to have some experience with blogs:

First run:
http://braces.livesexblogger.com
http://briana.livesexblogger.com
http://zee.livesexblogger.com

Two days later:
http://yummilee.livesexblogger.com/
http://emily.livesexblogger.com/
http://paige.livesexblogger.com/

I have submitted them into blog directories, made around 30 hard link trade for each.

Here is my stats from awstats:

03 Dec 2006 74 342 833 4.53 MB <- first run
04 Dec 2006 159 1210 2374 24.15 MB
05 Dec 2006 437 1466 4063 39.61 MB <-second run
06 Dec 2006 574 1249 4902 47.94 MB
07 Dec 2006 1321 3389 12680 130.34 MB

And from the only one sponsor i do atm with those blogs:
Date Raw Unq JoinHits Signups Ratio Earned
12/03/2006 2 2 0 0 0:2 $0.00
12/04/2006 9 9 0 0 0:9 $0.00
12/05/2006 18 16 0 0 0:16 $0.00
12/06/2006 31 25 2 0 0:25 $0.00
12/07/2006 86 81 20 0 0:81 $0.00 <- the asian have join hits

As you see the blogs arent optimised for SE traffic (on text, h1 tags, title etc), but have revelant anchors. I got SE traffic for some sites, but google seems a little bit sochastic.

Am i doing right?
Actualy i don't like the clickthrus, but the asian site do well. What should i do to have more traffic (not SE traffic), and more clickthru?
What about pings? Should i brother doing pings on an adult blog, what have recips or not?

Optimizing for SEO is the most important part of your adult blog. The reason peoples start a blog is to get SEO traffic which converts like mad. IF you have just started these sites dont expect to be a millionaire overnight. It takes some for google to start noticing your pages and indexing them better. Just keep posting good content and your time will come.

Here's a question for everyone....

Is there anyway of updating multiple blogs all at once using email or some other type of service? I've heard blogging by email is the easiest way to go but don't know how it works or what services offer this. I'm currently using a free blogging service which doesn't allow blogging with an email account. If I could update multiple blogs all at once that would be great. Any advice on this??

Very nice guide and good advice. I didn't notice a big jump in SE traffic until about 6 months later. Like u said, just keep on posting, and don't give up!

I think in the Terms of Google Adsense it says, no porn site allowed. AdBrite is one PPC alternative that allows adult sites. I tried it for awhile, and IMO, you're blog traffic is better off being sent to a sponsor...considering how many ad clicks it takes to equal the same amount of money you'd get from one sale.

Good guide, I could have used this about 6 months ago! Definitely go with autblogger pro, it's well worth the money. The new standalone is nuts!

Does anyone use wordpress MU? How is that?

Yeah, it looks like works pretty good, i ranked to be the first page on google's serp with around five blogs less than a week. I just choosed shitty keywords.

I still have some questions:
- How many posts should be written _before_ submitting the blog into a directory? ( I think 3-4 would be fine, but im a newbie)
- How many directory should i submit my blogs, i see blogs what are submitted into 10-12, but some around in 30. So what is the upper limit?
- Is it worth the time/links to feed managing services like yahoo, google, newsgator etc? people will use it, or maybe SE will parse as a backlink?
- How many sites should i ping on posts?
- I see some of the people here, register a new domain for every new blog, should i do that too or farming on a subdomain still can work? (Up to 30 blogs per domain)
- And the most important: Quantity, Quality, or both? What is the aim? To generate 100 blogs, every got SE traffic, in a week or two, but humans are not going to bookmark, becouse of the text are not human written, or just shitty. Or build just 10 and take care of those?

Thanks!

3 to 4 is ok, just make sure your keyword density is good.
- How many directory should i submit my blogs, i see blogs what are submitted into 10-12, but some around in 30. So what is the upper limit?
It should be one a day.
- Is it worth the time/links to feed managing services like yahoo, google, newsgator etc? people will use it, or maybe SE will parse as a backlink?
yes it is.
- How many sites should i ping on posts?
no more than 5.
- I see some of the people here, register a new domain for every new blog, should i do that too or farming on a subdomain still can work? (Up to 30 blogs per domain)
no dont do that(farming). get a new domain for each blog.
- And the most important: Quantity, Quality, or both? What is the aim? To generate 100 blogs, every got SE traffic, in a week or two, but humans are not going to bookmark, becouse of the text are not human written, or just shitty. Or build just 10 and take care of those?
Quality. SEs love fresh content so give them what they want.

PS- im glad my information has showed you how easy it is to rank well. congrats!

One question about that farming issue... Is it really secure to use a new domain for every blog even if all blogs are hosted on the same ip? Couldn´t SE´s don´t see that as farming too?

Great advice, I'm not a blogger but the SE advice is great, one question, I've looked at your Overture keyword link, did a search with 100 results ranging from 100,000 to 700, now if I wanted to put all these keywords on my page would I get penalized if they was the same colour as the background?

Cheers

I think nobody knows for sure, if you don't link them together it may will be good. But if you want to link them together then i think different subs and different whois info MAY count. Im still waiting from a professional input about this 'ip+whois+registar+etcetc' conspiracy.

I have a problem with that right off the bat. The purpose of using blog software for your website is that you want to run a blog and search engines love blogs. In order to get rankings in the search engines you have to either get SE trust or write something of the upmost quality that people all over the world will want to link to you. Or atleast a few 100 people over a short time.

The Domain is everything now to accomplish this. And if someone thinks they're going to put a blog together with some subdomains and get some links to them and they're going to take off is rediculous. It just doesn't happen that way and if you're going to teach someone else how to do something then atleast get the correct info.

If this is the Idiots guide to start an adult blog then if you take this advice as as true then you are an idiot.

not meaning to disrespect you man but don't act like an expert and hand out this garbage.

Plain and simple, write quality content with minimal pics and videos. More words in a particular niche and stay in that niche.

Domains age and back links are everything. Without trust yo won't get ranked for anything remotely competitive and less than 4 keyword phrases and that's after 6+ months.

If it was as easy as stealing content from affiliates' RSS feeds and putting up on a default blog dont you think we would all be rich. I make my money in mainstream but I keep my adult stuff up cause I've been adult blogging for 4+ years and it's making me $500 - $2000 a month.

Yea that's a wide range but my most popular posts fluctuate a lot on google's front page and that's the reason. I've been front page many boobs related search terms that's got me decent conversions of 1:200 on some weeks and 1:2000 on other's. And the content never changed.

a few more quick hints IMHO are never use duplicated content such as affiliates RSS feeds and copying from other blogs. This will only get you penalized and it's hard to come back from that.

Write one page a day for 2 or 3 months about your niche and don't worry about sales or affilaite's links.

Write more for the reader and not about making sales. When someone bookmark's you or subscribes to your rss feed you got someone as an audience. Don't disappoint them!!

Your adult blog isn't going to get a PR4 or PR5 anytime soon unless you do something extraordinary. Domain name age counts for A LOT. if you don't have that then consider yourself in for a long time of waiting and writing. The one's who wait it out are doing ok. I have 3 domains names that's have been around for about 3 years now and they are only PR4 with a few dozen QUALITY backlinks. The traffic is ok but it never fluctuates more than about 15% a week. So 3k-4k uniques a day and that mostly for SE traffic.

It's late and I'm bushed. Let a girl get some sleep and hit me up in the morning if you want to talk more blogs.
