Affiliate Software Migration

Greetings,
My friend is planning on leaving CCbill and going to Zombaio. For some reason she's not worried about loosing rebills and will just notify her affiliates of the change. I told her it would be better if she bought an affiliate system and used cascade billing with Zombaio as primary and CCbill as secondary. This way she can keep her existing rebills and improve her affiliate tools. Is this pretty much true?

Would she have to make any changes inside CCbill or would she just input the code into the affiliate program. Looking at using NATS or MPA3 for this.

Please be gentle, haha

I'm pretty sure it is possible to switch to mpa3 ( not sure tough ). However, I advise you to talk to Oystein Wright at oystein *at* mansionproductions.com

He once told me he does NATS to MPA3 switches regularly. So I'm guessing moving from CCBILL or even ZOMBAIO's affiliate system won't be a problem.

Hi 4pleasure, I remember reading one of the Zombaio threads and saw that you mentioned you have 2 Zombaio accounts for one of your sites. May I ask why? I assumed one is for Euros and the other USD and the cascade is geo-targeted?

Do you or any other GFY'ers have a Zombaio affiliate ID that they would want me to use?

Hi livecarlo, switching from a CCBill program to NATS or MPA3 is fairly straightforward and yes, all existing affiliate codes and rebills can be imported into the new system so there is very little disruption to existing affiliates. Your advice to your friend is very sound - other than the cost of purchasing or renting NATS or MPA3, it's a good idea. The only other thing to consider is whether she / her site has built up enough trust with her affiliates for them to be happy going with her own program rather than one run through one of the payment processing companies. This would depend on how long she has been around, how long her existing CCBill program has been going and how she has treated her affiliates so far. As 4pleasure said, speak to Oystein at Mansion (www.mpa3.com) or TMMVlad posts on GFY regularly - he can help you about NATS (www.toomuchmedia.com)

Also, as far as affiliate payments are concerned. She would have to create an account on www.webmasterchecks.com and use that to pay the affiliates. Is it standard practice to pass the fee on to the affiliate or to have epassporte and one other payout method free and to have a fee to process all others?

Hey there Livecarlo, yes I have 2 accounts because I need to be able to bill in USD and in EUR. We have GeoIP in our orderpage to present the visitor with the right payment options in the right currency, for example : Germans and other contries accepting direct debit get presented with that option as well. This is very important and really improves conversions.

I don't use the zombaio affiliate part, I did test it tough but it's far to basic for what I need ( livecams ) so I went with mpa3 ( which is now in a final testing phase before we launch our program ).

It depends I think. Most important thing is that you calculate that in your businessmodel if you pay that cost.

I would personaly use one that is free for the webmaster ( the cheapest one ) and others where the webmaster pays the fee. So the webmasters can always choose.

A good affiliate program is WIN - WIN for both parties.

Thanks for the insight. Also, I meant Zombaio's Sales Partner affiliate program for referring other webmasters to sign-up and use Zombaio as their biller. I think the referrer gets 0.10 of the referee's income.
