A Very Donny Christmas (2014)

Reformed pornographer Donny Pauling has turned his life over to Christ in this holiday classic. Plot synopsis - It's Christmas Eve and Donny Pauling, a pastor and motivational speaker, finds himself separated from the ones he loves, his teenage son, his devoted mother and a bevy of troubled underaged girls he counsels and rapes. Donny is despondent and alone, locked up in the Bedford Falls County Jail accused of terrible crimes he knows he did not commit but how will he ever convince a judge that statutory rape is an act of love? Unbeknownst to Donny he is being watched from on high, an angel named Clarence, anxious to earn his angel wings First Class is quickly dispatched to Earth to intervene and save Donny from his own hands. Clarence, a very clever angel, enters Donny's cell impersonating a jail guard grabbing the underpants with which Donny was just about to kill himself with. Donny protests that he wants to die but Clarence has another idea.

Clarence takes Donny backwards through time presenting a series of vignettes from childhood to adulthood to show Donny what life would have been like had he never existed - Donny sees his 5 year old self tricking his younger brother into giving him his most cherished toy, then as an older child telling grandiose lies about his accomplishments, serving on Student Council as a high schooler where he misappropriated funds raised in a charity carwash, falsely accusing other students at his community college of cheating on their exams, then as a young pornographer preying on young innocent girls to model and masturbate naked for him through a devious bait and switch technique he continuously perfected, misrepresenting himself to clients, ripping off his fellow photographers, Donny developing a relationship with a young model he claimed was the love of his life showing her how much he loves her by sharing her with another man in the porn industry so he could watch her have sex with this other man, then when she falls in love with the other man Donny begins a seige of harassment and stalking that lasts years, Clarence shows Donny recreating himself as a fallen sinner dedicating himself to God's word but not really as Donny turns his new faith into a money making enterprise while still continuing to deceive and prey on people, finally Clarence shows Donny and his creepy friend Lewis the sheriff raping Lewis' 16 year old ******** and Donny continuing to bribe and coerce underaged girls into having sex with him.

Clarence realizes he's made a terrible mistake, the world had not been better off for Donny's existence. Clarence is panicked, he intended to save a man's life by showing him the good in him and he wanted those angel wings First Class so badly after waiting centuries. What to do? Clarence dashes out of the cell and returns with an ice pick stabbing Donny repeatedly screaming 'IT WAS A WONDERFUL LIFE WASN'T IT DONNY PAULING!?!?! IT WAS A WONDERFUL LIFE WASN'T IT DONNY PAULING!?!?! IT WAS A WONDERFUL LIFE WASN'T IT DONNY PAULING!?!?!'

The article says that the cop is apparently on tape (the girl's boyfriend recorded a conversation with him) admitting he has a "problem". If that tape is played in open court, there should be no doubt about a conviction -- it sounds pretty damning for the cop.

The D.A. argued for a $5MM bail (and the judge agreed) because the cop was a SWAT member, and threatened to take a bunch of people out if he got arrested. The bail for the child-related charges was $150k; the rest was out of "public safety" concerns, so he didn't go on a shooting spree.

Nope, never heard that story. One thing I can tell you is that Donny always spoke very highly of you. He gave you credit many times for your generosity and knowledge. Not once did he ever speak negatively about you.

A XXXMas Story

Donny wants only one thing for XXXmas, a Nikon D3x Camera, as he tells anyone and everyone that will listen "You need a pro camera to shoot high end porn and make more money than people make shooting amateur porn", but everyone tells him that is out of his budget and the content he is shooting of frightened uncomfortable looking models is not going to pay for such a high end camera and no one really wants to works with him anymore. In a voice over at the end, Donny admits that religion made him way better at being sexually deviant and taking advantage of people.

many, many people have tried to help Donny in many ways, because Donny is a great guy and fun to be around on the surface however there are real issues underneath that I don't perceive resolving into a person of any worth.

it is my firm belief that Donny is a 'Jim Jones' in the works, maybe just not smart enough to pull it off, but definitely looking down that road... the best we can hope for as a society is protection from Donny in the form of a long term prison sentence and chemical castration.

It's worth considering that sociopaths are more often than not, "great guys". They are almost always confident, intelligent and funny. They understand how to manipulate others, how to gain the trust of others, how to use others to their ends, how to fake the normal emotions of others and so on.

Sociopaths are also great public speakers - this is because they do not experience the emotions and fears tat others do which makes them poor public speakers. They don't experience embarrassment or shame or insecurity. They think they are awesome, hence,... their confidence Aand so on, which combined ironically makes them the best public speakers.

I feel like this industry has been little more than a parade of deeply disturbed people, often openly lying, robbing and cheating their way along with a large contingent of followers makin it known that they are "great guys".

Additionally, even the worst examples of humanity have a few friends which they treat very differently than they do the rest of the world. Just because Jefrrey Dahmer said please and thank you are certain people doesn't mean he was mentally healthy.

I'm always interested in watching these things play out and noting how dishonest with ourselves that we are. For myself, I feel like you could read almost any post he's made here and see watniningg signs of a troubled person. He even brought his breakup to this board - he then got super vicious as I recall. I remember thinking at the time "oh, his over riding concern is not what happened but how others perceive him". Most people would have simply took some personal time to reflect, grieve and heal but his first move was to create a public spectacle and try to embarrass and attack his ex and the 3rd party. Over rising any common sense is the urge to attempt to control the story, others perceptions of him and to manipulate.

And yet, people, especially Susan, begin to notice there is something special about Donny and his determination to preach to her specifically in the evenings at special "services" they have all alone. When a raucous conflict with a cruelly incompetent judge erupts, Donny finds himself held in prison where, in despair, he deliberately fails a mental examination to ensure his commitment. All seems lost until McElf's friend, Rev. Freddy Gaily, reassure Donny of his worth and agrees to represent him in the fight to secure his release. To achieve that, Freddy arranges a formal hearing in which he argues that Donny is sane because he is in fact Santa Claus and plus everyone else is a lunatic and a criminal, especially the young girls. What ensues is a bizarre hearing in which people's beliefs are reexamined and put to the test, but even so, it's going to take a debacle for Donny to win!

In a pious Christian community in Northern California no one can believe that Donny Pauling really used to be an actual pornographer. He is way too good and godly.
