Just curious as to what people are doing. Buying silver, gold etc. What if hyper inflation kicks in? Hasn't food prices increased like 100% in the last year?

What your gonna grow your own food? You know you can buy a 50 lb bag of rice for $18.00. I wander what the same thing was 100 years ago. Mass producing food has brought the cost down so low most people don't even budget their food expenses. In reality for what you get food is dirt cheap. Maybe what 5% of someones monthly expenses? Maybe 10%. I'm willing to bet that 100 years ago it was 50% of a family's expenses.

dont forget your gear for making bullets from your precious metals cuz thats all that shit will be good for if there is a real financial meltdown...

I think if society goes to total shit your right, precious metals won't be what people use to trade with. Food, ammo, weapons, clean water, etc will be used as currency.

I plan to run into a super walmart, go straight for the guns section, then kill everyone in the food section !!!

i have been suggesting in these threads that people invest in a minimum 2000 gallon water tank. these things are are common in other countries and if you think about it, having that or a well is probably going to save your life if things really go to shit.
the tanks are pretty cheap btw and well worth it if you have no other water source.

the one thing you don't want to do is have to go out to look for supplies in case of a massive crisis.

Make sure you have purification test equipment/chemicals for your well water.

If you wait till shit hits the fan I can guarantee you wally world won't have a single bullet left. Every time I go in I pick up 5 packs of 100 rounds each 12 guage shells. At $22.99 a box what the hell. Shells will last 50 years if in a safe.

Isn't that why food costs have supposedly increased in the last year? Presonally I have not noticed food prices increasing, but then again I'm not the one that buys groceries.

I had a Mossberg 500 a few years ago -- I might even go with the 590 this time. Never had a Benelli, but from what I know you can't go wrong with that either.

When choosing firearms I'm a firm believer of multiple weapons of the same model rather than a wide selection of different models.

Chief reasons are familiarity and if one fails it can be used for parts. I have 3 Benelli M4 Super 90 shotguns and 2 H&K 45acp pistols as primary weapons.

I have the 590A1. Nice gun, but if I were to do it again I would just get the regular one without the thicker 20 inch barrel. It's way too heavy. I like the looks of the 590 Mariner.

I'm pretty good with a 30-06 deer rifle but nothing beats a good shotgun and rifled slugs are pretty accurate to 50 yards.
