As someone with little experience or knowledge on this subject and with the hosted tube idea. I was thinking. How much does it cost to put up a Tube site?

Some scripts are very cheap. Content for nothing. Hosting, can't be a factor really to stop people. Time, well this is an unknown so offer me advice please.

Dirt cheap if you use sponsor clips, you just have to pay for the script (unless you use the free Nubiles script), domain and hosting.
I could see it getting very expensive if you buy content as you'd have to buy one hell of a lot to make it compete with the established tubes.

To make a real one? $2000 for script and design. $500 a month in hosting to start. $1000 in traffic first month to start. Host your own videos. Get sponsors to submit the videos to you with unique descriptions, most programs have a guy doing tube submissions for them. Make sure you get 5+min clips, pref 9-11min.

As this goes you will have to upgrade hosting pretty fast ofc and also buy more traffic.

I really hope when I am retired I dont have to worry about this shit anymore.

You should at least be able to put together a plan of what you want to achieve, then whip out a calculator and come to an approximate number. You could even come to a number by using an abacus or counting pterodactyl eggs like when you were a kid.
