Enough with the bashing. Make it clear how you feel. Do you hate the United States?

Ive about had it with the America bashing this week. Lets lay it out. Make it clear. Do you hate us? Do you hate our government? Do you hate our morals? Do you hate everything about us?

This is a public poll. If you dont vote and continue to make stupid fucking threads about things that go on in our country, you will show yourself as a coward.

In fact post exactly what you feel about us in this thread. Bring it out in the open. Ive just about had it this week.

And come in and whine about "its not a fair question" or "bullshit poll" Say how you fucking feel.

BlackCrayon 04-19-2007 10:56 AM

Americans are often trying to impose their point of view on others. Why can't you handle it when its the other way around? I agree that some of what is being said is stupid, "bashing" or whatever but as the "superpower" you are you have to be able to take some critisim. That said i love most everything about america and americans.

nico-t 04-19-2007 11:01 AM

As an American, I must say I love about 90% of this country :) Also Steve, do you know what I did with my socks?

Elli 04-19-2007 11:30 AM

I don't hate America. I love many of its people and ideals and places. I think it is being led by a very bad government which has been allowed to continue for far too long, and I think its people are lulled into apathy by being told that they wouldn't be able to make a difference, anyway. I think that blind patriotism for any country is misguided, since no country is perfect. I think that most Americans are highly uneducated about their own country and the world around them.

That doesn't mean I hate America, though.

Jakke PNG 04-19-2007 11:40 AM

Voted other.
I hate the arrogance and ignorance of the general population in the usa, the total lack of will to understand any other way of thinking than their own. It's like "Those dirty middle-eastern heathens have to believe what we believe, because they are a threat to our beliefs".. not thinking that you're doing the exact same thing to them, you're a threat to their beliefs. Not for a second does the general turdling think of the situation like this, but automatically assumes that your way is the correct way and doesn't see anything wrong with it. 0 will to see the flipside of the coin, that's what's bugging me about usa, and the americans on this board.

I personally think the middle-east is a place due to some renovation, but it's none of my fucking business to tell them how they should live, why is it yours. Howcome it's your duty to 'liberate' them and bring 'democracy' there..if the people don't want it?

USA probably has more great minds than any other country, but it also seems to host a massive quantity of loud and obnoxious total retards, people who have the IQ of a chimpanzee and yet take pride for all the great things america has done, even though he contributes nothing himself... some of those even post on this very board.

I know there's gonna be some flaming towards me, but no matter. Wave the american flag and attack the annoying terrorist from finland. :)

v4 media 04-19-2007 01:02 PM

Because you haven't had modern warfare on your soil, you rush in to battle too quickly.

As a country you seem to want to do the right thing and want everyone to like you, but you go about things in a not so sensitive way.

As 90% of your population has never been abroad (Tijuana, Niagra falls dont count) you have a real fucked up view of the world, you think Europe is still in the 19 centuty.

Your double standards on terrorism piss me off aswell.

But on the whole I like you.. hehe.

Klen 04-19-2007 01:04 PM

There is no sense to hate USA beacuse even it's now leaded by very stupid president USA is still leader of globaly economy and make economy it so good level. But no long soon China will eated USA.

RyuLion 04-19-2007 01:07 PM

Don't get me wrong..I'm proud to be an American and lucky at that..
I Voted.

D 04-19-2007 01:21 PM

I love the foundation that the U.S. was built on.

I think, more recently - as we grow, we're getting perhaps a bit careless about where and how hard we're letting those with the joystick swing the wrecking ball.

stickyfingerz 04-19-2007 01:24 PM

Im pissored I forgot to check the public poll option.. :disgust

Mediachick 04-19-2007 01:26 PM

I highly doubt if the general population of any middle eastern country gives two shits about america either unless it has something to do with television, movies, music, or MONEY...Other than that, why should they care? Why should ANY country in general care about the welfare of people in other countries that they've never been to?

I am guessing because the terrorists come over here and blow things up. When that happens that makes it the business of the US. Had they stayed over there and left us alone, we would not care what they were doing.

jayeff 04-19-2007 03:24 PM

Stupid thread, but okay. I love the US. I have done ever since I spent several semesters at school here on exchange programs. I have visited and worked here for short periods throughout my adult life. I have lived here for the past 10 years.

I'm also a realist. Might is right. But that doesn't prevent me wishing that the US had trod more lightly around the world. Over the past 3/4 century millions have been killed, injured or otherwise had their lives destroyed as a direct or indirect result of US foreign policy. I have to believe that the majority of Americans are not aware of all the interference which has gone on in other countries' affairs, because I do not want to believe they would approve of much that has been done.

I think the US has a huge problem. Election-by-sound-bite has been going on here for several decades. Most of the media have gone the same route with news and information, to the point that the majority of the US public is so dumbed down about what is happening at home and abroad, I doubt it is even possible to hold their attention long enough now to attempt to explain anything in more detail. That is why there hasn't been a truly impressive president, let alone congress or senate, in probably 50 years.

Which I believe is why Americans seem so pig-headed and reactionary to many outsiders. They are fiercely proud and patriotic, but if they could scratch the surface they would have to start wondering how things ever went so wrong.

There is a mexican restaurant I eat at fairly regularly. There are SEVEN different licenses on the wall behind the cash register, yet Americans are sure they have, if not small, then at least not big government. I visit hospitals and doctors regularly, and although I'm paying, I'm likely to have to wait longer than in the UK I would have to as a National Health patient. Right until graduation as straight-A students, my kids used to come home from school at 3:30, most days if they had homework at all, having been able to do it during school hours. Etc.

The US has the potential to be the greatest country in the world, but until Americans start to care about it in practical terms as much as they do in theory, it is going to drift further and further away from that ideal.

scottybuzz 04-19-2007 03:30 PM

haha i hate the people in america who make such biased poll options. i mean come on, i dont loath america, i hate some of the narrow thinking that some americans have. how they wont even try to see views of other nations, but i love the american way of life. when i was there everyone was so friendly, the layout of the country was amazing and the way of life was also brilliant. the things they have brought to the world is great.

but i feel a few people are a little bit too patriotic in their thinking and that patritism expands to bashing other countries, for example "I hate that they have freedoms we dont."

hahaha i mean come on, we are not all islamic extremists. and that option was not just posed at islamic extremists who want to be controlled by one man.

This issue though only has a small portion to do with politics. I could care less really if they hate Bush etc. How many posts have you read this week using the words "redneck" or "Imbecile" ? At this point they are calling our country, and its people stupid. :disgust

If you're going to do another poll be sure to add this option:

"I'm tired of American arrogance and ignorance."

You may find it gets a few votes.

LiveDose 04-19-2007 04:15 PM

Every country has problems. Love where you live and be done with it. Otherwise hit the road and move.

As people from other countries could care less about my opinion, I could give two shits about what some foreigner says about the US.

No we did not provoke them. No one in the twin towers did a damn thing to provoke them. They are terrorists, they do not need to be provoked.

Well this is what Osama bin Laden had to say about that:

Quote:

I wonder about you. Although we are ushering the fourth year after 9/11, Bush is still exercising confusion and misleading you and not telling you the true reason. Therefore, the motivations are still there for what happened to be repeated.

And I will talk to you about the reason for those events, and I will be honest with you about the moments the decision was made so that you can ponder. And I tell you, God only knows, that we never had the intentions to destroy the towers.

But after the injustice was so much and we saw transgressions and the coalition between Americans and the Israelis against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, it occurred to my mind that we deal with the towers. And these special events that directly and personally affected me go back to 1982 and what happened when America gave permission for Israel to invade Lebanon. And assistance was given by the American sixth fleet.

During those crucial moments, my mind was thinking about many things that are hard to describe. But they produced a feeling to refuse and reject injustice, and I had determination to punish the transgressors.

And as I was looking at those towers that were destroyed in Lebanon, it occurred to me that we have to punish the transgressor with the same -- and that we had to destroy the towers in America so that they taste what we tasted, and they stop killing our women and children.

Haha...I choose none...or other I guess if I have to. I'm a fan of America :) We have our faults, but everyone does. We know we have them, and we have to deal with them on a daily basis. But I'd rather deal with our own problems than go anywhere else.

No, I'm just saying nothing happens for no reason.

If you don't want to be a victim of terrorist attacks, don't create them and don't provoke them.

Do you really think that they attacked you for no reason?

I hate that they have freedoms we dont.
btw - someone still needs to explain me what "freedoms" those are - besides the fact that a proven nutjob can buy guns and ammunition without any problems

ah - i remember something else: your "freedom of speech" allows you to deny holocaust and use nazi symbols without prosecution - ok, debatable if that is needed or not

but now someone really come up with a "freedoms" i don't have - please...

and btw - nooo, i don't hate the US (this will be soon a standard disclaimer since a lot of people seem to be really sensitive about that - i wonder how i as a german should feel about the constant bashing i witnessed over the last couple of years on this board).
