Really...

Had an old biz partner who could program a little and created a site on his own.

Him working it... $200 / month
me... $8,000 / month

Same biz partner during "negotiations" I forfeited my site for another...

at that time $1500 / month
now.... $4500 / month

I'm considering consulting for people who have sites that make money but need to turn it up a notch. Not being pompous... just think I could do the job consulting.

I have to think about your site for a bit... the answer is definetely in your landing page... it SCREAMS you have to pay but you get my site and so many more.

It needs to tone down... show mostly your site... and create a free account by simply picking a username and continue. I would likely completely redo your home page, incorporate a free trial with only a few vids and then, after a free member, show all the other sites available. Upsell them after the free join

You need to set yourself up an exclusive member site forum,
post some instructional videos. Promise some one-to-one mentoring.
Put a flashy webpage up with a long form sales letter,

First, Thank You for your input. Now a couple things which may alter your input:

1. www.misterpeabodyworld.com is merely my network homepage, a central place for all the tours to link to, a "hub". I never send any "direct" traffic there; surfers go there to check out the Updates, or to learn more about me/the network. Sure, I make sales from that site but only a handful.

I send direct traffic to the tours themselves, like here:

2. I've A-B tested both stand-alone tours (where I don't advertise the rest of the network) and what you see now; 8-1, or 8x more sales WITH that table of thumbs at the bottom advertising the network. I don't care how ugly it looks, it works.

3. Because everything is "linked up" we get tons of sales from "bounce around" traffic; someone comes to ErosExotica but joins MILF Mia, etc (and vice versa). Affiliates may think those are all "traffic leaks" but because I'm a CCBill sponser the aff gets credit no matter which site they send traffic to. In other words, someone sends traffic to Chubby Blondy from their BBW blog, and they get a sale from Amazing Cleo, etc. Once affiliates realize this they get SUPER HAPPY and just start pumping hits, and everyone wins.

Having said all of the above, some tours in my network are "whales", some are steady performers, some do so-so and some act merely as "bonus sites". In the end, my bottom line coninues to grow so ultimately, while I'm still building my network/empire, I don't really care. When I start to concentrate on building purely traffic sites/sources (later this year) I suspect even more growth.

4. Lastly, I don't believe in free memberships or trials. Perhaps through free sites or some such but I've also tested $1 trials, $2.95 trials, even odd-pricing/length trials, like $3.95 for 3 days, etc. I believe, if someone wants to Join they'll fucking pay the thirty bucks. Those cheap/hesitant bastards who go for the trials? Fuck 'em. Come back when you're serious, boy.

Plus, I do "splits" with models and producers, and how do you "split" $1? LOL IF I'd get tons more actual memberships then believe me, I would do trials. I just don't.

Everyone's got a differant business model that works for them, right?

I don't really know what is going on with your network and what you own and what you don't. Seems like you are splitting a ton of profit with other people

Limited trials, in your case, seems to be the way to go... IMO. That is, if you control all the other sites. Forget the $1 or $2.95... give it free and make it "limited". Constantly upsell member. User chooses username and email and next page pre-check the monthly membership (custom form not ccbill) but allow user to click Free Limited Trial as well.

You will get TONS of emails and free accounts and then you start email campaign as well.

Lastly, ccbill is one of your problems right there... you should be using nats.

All the promo pics you get from affiliates show some of them and put all in a popup gallery that when finished gives user option to "see more" or close box. Prior to entering gallery, require email and password. This does 2 things... gives you a bunch of emails to send weekly updates to your members to come back to your site as well as the ability to pass user information via API to sponsors.

Now this API information is very important to cams as it gives you the ability to autologin your surfer to a live non nude girl... checkout out datinggold as they will do it.

Don't do any of this on your home page as I'm more talking about requiring login information to view promo galleries or promo vids. Shouldn't hurt your SE rankings that way.

However, this is pretty much common knowledge and you can see where and why some folks like Peabody are averse to go in that direction. Can you exorcise more of the devil in the details? What would you say or do to prove to those folks or others interested in your services your way is the right way to go?

Not trying to corner you; just trying to give you a chance to show off skills a bit more.

I don't see at all why Peabody doesn't collect emails and I can guarentee giving full site access for $1 or $2 or whatever is NOT the way to go for a porn site(s). Nobody is ever satisfied and they WILL most likely cancel unless you pull some shaddy shit or bang them with an unknowing cross sale.

Maybe collecting emails, direct marketing is obvious but then why SO many sites don't do it?

I do offer a FREE 3 day trial with no credit card on a mainstream site and sales immediately, I mean 4 days after implemented have doubled. It's all those little things, I give full access on that site because I need the members to use it and realize they need it. Porn, different, they don't need it. So you have to tease them, but not collecting emails first is just silly.

I did give more "valid" advice then you summed up... just re-read it ;)

Splitting profits with others is not a problem for me because I'm earning enough gross, so there's plenty of profit to go around. But if you're not shooting your OWN content then splitting profits is the way to go. I could spend most of my time shooting my own shit but then that's what everyone does and finds themselves in trouble when their shit doesn't convert. So finding existing content, then doing a good job of selling it, is definitely a good business model. I'm living proof (as are many others).

Just because a BROgram operates with limited access, free trials, etc, doesn't mean that model works for everyone. In fact, I think that model ONLY works for a BROgram that can send hundreds of thousands or millions of hits daily. I do not have that level of mass traffic, so fishing with such a wide net does not work for me.

Lastly, you assume I don't collect email addresses? Offering "free" limited access memberships or trials as an opt in ploy works, of course, but it is not the ONLY way to gather emails, Mr. Traffic Guru. LOL I offer a newsletter, with over 20,000 subscribers and growing, and believe me, I make mass sales that way. Also, I send out emails to all current and former members, along with that newsletter list. So never "assume" Grasshopper.

Carry on giving mainstream advice any half-wit can suss out for themselves. I'm sure your intentions are good but nowhere have you offered a way to BOOST CONVERSIONS, which is really the entire point.

Very, very true - but remember, this is a weekly newsletter, so 20k goes out every week. With some email marketing strategies even an email a week is too much. It all depends. I like your advice, please don't get me wrong, and I think it's abso;utely crucial for affiliates especially. But for a one-man operation (more or less) you gotta work things a bit differantly.

Having said that, another network/program owner could probably triple profits implementing some of your ideas. Go figure. LOL!

Problem with 9 months profit is all the hidden traffic sources

But if you're not shooting your OWN content then splitting profits is the way to go. I could spend most of my time shooting my own shit but then that's what everyone does and finds themselves in trouble when their shit doesn't convert. So finding existing content, then doing a good job of selling it, is definitely a good business model. I'm living proof (as are many others). Just because a BROgram operates with limited access, free trials, etc, doesn't mean that model works for everyone. In fact, I think that model ONLY works for a BROgram that can send hundreds of thousands or millions of hits daily. I do not have that level of mass traffic, so fishing with such a wide net does not work for me. Lastly, you assume I don't collect email addresses? Offering "free" limited access memberships or trials as an opt in ploy works, of course, but it is not the ONLY way to gather emails, Mr. Traffic Guru. LOL I offer a newsletter, with over 20,000 subscribers and growing, and believe me, I make mass sales that way. Also, I send out emails to all current and former members, along with that newsletter list. So never "assume" Grasshopper. Carry on giving mainstream advice any half-wit can suss out for themselves. I'm sure your intentions are good but nowhere have you offered a way to BOOST CONVERSIONS, which is really the entire point.
