Interesting that you post this. For the past few days I've noticed several HP officers driving considerably under the speed limit - in one instance they were unmarked going 47 on a two lane road zoned for 55. Maybe I'm just suspicious but it seemed to me like he was trying to goad me into passing him so he could give me a ticket for 'unsafe driving' or some such nonsense.

Exactly. Does anyone have any idea why police don't enforce the lane courtesy laws currently on the books?

Anyone friends with a cop in California that can ask? I'm frankly sick of their enforcement of convenience... speed laws & domestic violence are their forte... everything else goes unenforced.

I guess I wasn't clear enough... I drive the 405 from the Westside to the Valley all the time, and frequently the fastest traffic is in the center or even the rightmost lanes.
