The only issue I had with Alex, I straight out asked him if he supported ICM or was he just making money. - I couldn't careless who's business model he copies because it's been done by more then a few in here, but he refused to take a stand from an obvious decision. So I have zero sympathy for the guy.

WTS, there are some of us who were also subjected to the same shit who did take a stand, shut their mouth, built a better strategy, got wealthy from it, and now looking for a little payback. I couldn't give a shit about .XXX/ICM or any of these issues because it has zero effect on my life or business. BUT what is does show me is a vulnerability with the usual suspects for a good reason.

I personalty recognize this as opportunity to settle some old scores and most need to thank god ICM can not afford a guy like me because if they could, you'd all be lining up at their door buying .xxx domains or deal with the other option of a 2 year Google domain sandbox. You'd only need to do a few and the rest would move like sheep.

The point is he made a bad decision, but by ignoring him he'll come to his own realization and move on our improve his business model. Now I bet he's gonna want a little payback.

I met him at one of my very first shows almost 10 years ago. He and his wife have always been good to me good to everyone who works with me despite never buying ads on his site or mags. Tracy, Kedra, Xev and others know he's the tits. He works hard at every show but never tries to sell anything, instead letting the quality of his work speak for him.

He clearly loves what he does which makes others appreciate his work even more. I love to take pictures and for a while was shooting alot of stuff at shows too. What did I do with my photos? I gave them ALL over to him, each time. Not sold, gave. Why? Because he's JFK. Because he's the man. Because I want him to have content. Because I wanted to.

If you're going to start shooting and competing against JFK Nalem then that's perfectly fine and more power to you but Trashing JFK won't win you any new customers.

Great post...I am a non advertiser but I love the mag and the vibe they bring to the show. They made my wife and I feel like family from the get go back on 05. They love what they do and they are fun to be around...

How hard is to understand if ICM felt any real threat, they wouldn't of came? This alone should tell you everything. Not only was AVN/YNOT ill-prepared, ICM then used their platform to pitch services as the rest of the panel attention whored and missed a great blow.

Conner had chance to get the guy on the ropes and missed it when he was pitching the .XXX search engine concept. As ICM preached about how there will be a new unfiltered SE bettering the industry, there should of been a question if ICM was going to allow non-xxx in this all adult search engine? If he would of said yes, why buy and .XXX and if he said no, he would of hung himself. Or at least provide a new angle of attack to exploit his true intentions, grabbing market share.

Meaning, AVN/YNOT and their lackys were played and used to get the word out, free because you don't judge press/exposure for success, you weigh it. The next step is critical because they don't need AVN/YNOT anymore or program owners with their circus clowns they employe to get real traffic generators because that job is finished.

The next step is contacting the true backbone of the internet industry. It won't be long before ICM figures out who the real traffic generating sources are and approach them with a boatload of cash. They might already have their own now with some pretty sweet .XXX domains reserved. As far as your "good ole boy network" comments, totally agree. The bros with the premium domains are not happy about the added competition. I think it's pretty common knowledge that having a great .com name doesn't guarantee success tho. A three word .net can generate more traffic/money than SEX.COM or PORN.COM has in the last 10 years (provided it's in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing). I find it hard to believe that this is as big a crowd as you might think.

IMO, you have missed a major reason why some people are against this tld. Should .xxx become the defacto tld for adult entertainment the chances of censorship increase dramatically. You stated that new markets may open up due to the .xxx, and that may be true. But now isp's must sort through the .coms/nets/etc. to censor a site. After the .xxx is adopted, it's as simple as flipping a single switch. The customer base immediately dwindles.

Your points are interesting and spot on. Sometimes an industry has to collapse as times change. The herd still needs thinning I suppose. Either way, the only winners in .xxx will be ICM.

Yeah I thought it was a little weird at the 2010 Forum when some old dude that wasn't JFK was walking around snapping pictures of people, throwing cards on the tables they were at without saying a word and walking away.

It was even more strange when I checked the website about once a week for an extended period of time and it was "Coming Soon"...

Even at my first show I recognized Baddog and JFK... had no idea who that guy was and figured the site was BS because of the amount of time it took to actually launch.

Wow if anything I think ICM is associating themselves with meltdowns, let's hope the trend continues with anyone who deals with them!

I have to say I rarely read the long winded posts/rants but I tool the time to read what JHC had to say and have to say he speaks well and has a lot of valid things to say in the .xxx debate.

As far as the JFK vs Nalem debate... Julius, Mike and Lloyd have been competing in the same space for a while now with no drama or at least no public drama for that matter. The issue isn't another player in the game, it's the player himself.

Nalem you only have yourself to blame for certain shows limiting photo coverage to specific photographers and excluding people like you. And lets face it, if the only thing that sets your site apart is the use of liveshare to display the pics, then you don't have much of a competitive advantage in the first place.

Because he's the man. Because I want him to have content. Because I wanted to.
