Those racist tea partiers have shown their true colors

http://slatest.slate.com/posts/2011/..._points_o.html

Herman Cain is out in front and by himself.

A new poll from CBS News and the New York Times shows that the former Godfather?s Pizza exec now leads the entire Republican field of presidential contenders in a national survey of likely GOP primary voters. Most noteworthy is his four-point lead over of longtime frontrunner Mitt Romney, 25-21.

The results, gathered between Oct. 19 and Oct. 24, are surprising because they come after a particularly rough week for Cain. Following an uninspired debate in Las Vegas on Oct. 18, Cain tweaked his ?9-9-9? tax plan after getting lambasted by politicians on both sides of the aisle, and was later accused of faltering on his pro-life position.

So why did Cain jump eight points after being tied with Romney at 17 percent three weeks ago? In short: The Tea Party is falling in love with him.

CBS News reports Cain now has the support of 32 percent of all self-identified Tea Partiers, almost twice as many as any other Republican hopeful. Much of that support is likely coming from Tea Party castaway Rick Perry, who dropped from 30 percent support among the group only a month ago to 7 percent in the most recent poll.

The survey shows the Texas governor floundering in fifth place with 6 percent, and trailing Newt Gingrich (10 percent) and Ron Paul (8 percent.) Michele Bachmann has the support of 2 percent of Republicans, and Santorum and John Huntsman bring up the rear, each with one percent.

I'm not sure how you could get people from all over the country who don't know or care to know each other to answer "Herman Cain" when asked who they are going to vote for in a poll.

I'm like most people...I think he's the latest in the "anyone but Romney" sweepstakes for the religious right.
But in the end...it will be Romney. And if unemployment stays the way it is or worsens? It will be President Romney.

But no, I don't think being a Republican makes you a "racist" in any way.
I'm a fiscal conservative and go along with a lot of what Republicans say about taxes and size of govt. I'm definitely no racist.

I see zero equivalent between fiscal conservatism and racism. I also don't see much to link average ordinary people who are republicans and religious (just "normal" Baptists and Methodists...not the extreme nutcases) to racism.

From what I've seen in my time...racism is going away in this country. Yeah, it's still around. But it's definitely at an all time low. And I don't see where the Republican Party has been as racist as the Dems were through most of history.

Anybody remember George Wallace (a Democrat) or Sen. Robert Byrd of Virginia (Democrat and Klu Klux Klan member) And weren't Dems in control of the govt. most of the time since the Civil War...and not until Lyndon Johnson did one of them actually DO anything for civil rights?

I think it's wise to take each person individually. To keep lumping all Dems or Repubs as the same is fucking dumb.

When Hillary was the to be the top runner for the Democrats the right wing pulled Palin out of their ass. Now the Obama is the president they have pulled a Bachmann & Cain out of their asses.

The GOP is simply playing their typical games of 10 second sound clips & I'll try to match you 1 for 1. If Obama wasn't president you think Cain would even be in the running.. lol much less Bachmann..

Neither are electable and both are morons. Dog and pony show is all the GOP has left at this point because they certainly can't run on their actions.

now both sides will always have to have a black or woman candidate just to appear 'with it'.

i never thought the tea party was racist as a whole but some racists have attached themselves to the name much like some anarchists have attached themselves to OWS.

Exactly!!!

The only reason 12shits makes this thread title is because he is simply trying to prove
the tea party never had racial issues. And that is exactly how H. Cain is being used.

It's working in the reverse.

Tokenism is insulting to intelligent people, therefore no Tea Party members are insulted.

Sperbonzo made the exact same kind of post some days ago.

Boy are you jumping the gun on "level of presidential candidate"; not one primary vote
has been cast yet that I'm aware.

He's just a "talking head" right now.

If the tea baggers want to prove something then nominate Al Sharpton.

It is one thing to poll well with them now almost three months before the first primary. It is another thing to actually get their votes.

I have never thought the tea party as a whole was racist. I think they are made up of a lot of different people who have different views and that includes a few who are racist but the movement as whole is not.

They are, however, schizophrenic. Two months ago they were in love with Bachman. Then when Perry entered the race they left her and fell in love with him. Now they have left him and are in love with Cain. At this rate they will dump him for Ron Paul then dump him and be on to someone else before the voting even starts.

The proof will be in the pudding. When the primaries start we will find out if they really love Cain or if this is all just talk.

I don't think we will see it, but wouldn't that be something. Cain vs Obama.
I doubt even the most wet of Martin Luther King's Dreams had two Black dudes running for United States President.

Im also kinda taken back by the Tea Party backing Cain. Ive been one to find them racist and wacky. Yet they are turning their backs on the wacky Bachman and Perry.

Mitt and Cain should be the two front runners and they are.

The Tea Party Shocks me. Maybe they have shaken the nut jobs loose. Or maybe the polls never polled the nuts of the party. Good for them. If they want to be taken more serious they should continue on this path. Bachman as the face of the party really was difficult to take serious.

With that said I think Mitt is more Fit for the Nod.. One can only wonder how much being mormon and rich effects his efforts. But Ironic that a Rich and Black man is neck in neck with him.

My wife and half my family is black. I'm white. As you might imagine, I disdain racism. I stopped by the local Tea Party event to see what it was about. I didn't detect a single hint of racism at all. Not a bit. I heard a lot of talk about limited government and really getting back to the principles of the Constitution, but neither heard nor saw anything remotely racist, and I was watching for that.

On the other hand, I never hear Al Sharpton, who starting calling himself "reverend" when he was four years old, say ANYTHING without a racial reference. From what I've seen, he's a professional race baiter who knows how to market racism to black people.

There is a part of me that wants to see Cain get the nomination strictly to see if Bill Maher will make good on his bet. He bet a conservative strategist $1 dollar to $1 million that Cain would not get the nomination. If he is right, he wins a buck. If he is wrong and Cain does get the nomination he will pay her $1 million.

I wonder if he would actually follow through with it and pay her.

The tea party is new, they have been around for a while now and thats impressive. I find it funny some of the idiots here that still call them names and then get all pissy saying the Tea Party are racist when they are name calling themselves because of misguided hate.

think about that

Cain is a declared Republican candidate.

How would nominating a racist like Al Sharpton prove they aren't racist? Because he's a black racist? That makes no sense.

Of course there is no real grounds to call tea party protestors racists.. I mean it's like like they carry signs around saying hang the black guy or anything.. Na they just call him a monkey or a Muslim because of his middle name..

Of course you would never see the N word on a Tea Baggers sign because they aren't racist..

oh wait did I say something about hanging the black guy?

opps..

many many more but obviously they are a peaceful party of non racists and really it's just the evil liberal media trying to make them look bad.

http://www.google.com/search?q=tea+p...1325&bi h=915

of course I don''t think all tea party protestors are racist, but I do think there is large amounts of them and they do love to hold up their signs at their little parties.

Herman Cain is out in front and by himself.

A new poll from CBS News and the New York Times shows that the former Godfather’s Pizza exec now leads the entire Republican field of presidential contenders in a national survey of likely GOP primary voters.

18, Cain tweaked his “9-9-9” tax plan after getting lambasted by politicians on both sides of the aisle, and was later accused of faltering on his pro-life position.

Wow...I thought I was replying to something you had said. That sure was a mean spirited reply.

Oh well...I thought I wrote something that made some sense. But not to a big bad ass keyboard monster like you I suppose. Carry on with thinking that all people are monolithic thinkers.

Ok, tell us what they would have to do to not be racists? Elect a black president, obviously not. Then he's a token. Now 100 black presidents, that would be a start, but only one? Token, right? How can they prove that they aren't guilty of the "HIDDEN RACISM" we hear so much about but never see or hear or cause (because its hidden)?

i know it's hard for some of you to understand, be it due to racism, ignorance (even innocent ignorance), or lack of sensitivity, but here's the deal:

cain SHAT on black people with some of his words. regardless of what point he was trying to make, underhandedly calling us slaves is no better than those tea party signs posted above.

racists and closet racists eat that shit up.

is the tea party racist? not as a whole (i hope). are there racists in the tea party? hell yes. that's why they're in love with him.

Hey man, just go back up a few postings and read the signs OK.

Nobody went after the tea party to label them, they labeled themselves with those
signs.

of course the rabid racist tea party embraces Cain - he's the only one with policies that hurt African Americans the most - and he's the only one saying "We Should Not Allow the Building of One More Mosque in the US"

Fuck Cain. Fuck the Tea Party. Fuck 12 Clicks.

What the fuck is that shit? It looks like a sketch off of Tim & Eric Awesome Show.

Look, this guy is a fraud. This whole campaign of his is a clever ploy to sell more books and set himself up for a prosperous career on the motivational speaking circuit. That's what he's been doing for the last fifteen years, motivational speaking. He stepped down as CEO of Godfather's Pizza in 1996.

Why do idiots only bring up pizza when talking about Cain's past?

He was the head of one of the private Federal Reserve banks.

He's a total shill for the banking establishment.

This is what needs to be brought up about Cain, not stupid ass fucking pizza.

Oh wait, this means nothing to you people because you have no idea how bad the Federal Reserve is for this country, you think it's supposed to be there and that it's actually "Federal." lol

The Hermanator "testifies" ...
Quote:
Herman Cain: I?m a Baptist preacher. A lot of people don?t know that. My parents joined Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta in the mid 40s when they moved to Atlanta when I was 2 years old. That was the church I grew up in. That was the church I joined at 10 years of age. I?ve been in the church all my life. When I moved around in my corporate career, I always stayed involved in the church.

So my faith is a big part of who I am and at my church now, which is the same one I grew up in, I?m one of the Associate Ministers there because I was called to the ministry. Sometimes when people are called to the ministry they think that God wants them to give up something else. But God has done some magnificent things with my life, especially what he has done in terms of my health.

http://blogs.cbn.com/thebrodyfile/ar...ing-power.aspx
I would not vote for any religionist preacher of any faith. Separation of church and state that should be a fundamental constitutional value. Isn't that part of the larger issue anymore?
