You asked why, those are reasons why.

Don't accept them, eat a dick. Stick to being a troll and stay out of a business you clearly don't understand. Which is sad since you've been here since 2001. You should be solid by now.

OK... since you refuse to move on. Lets settle this right now. Show me proof.

I want to see PROOF that ILLEGAL charges were made to a credit card. Show me that person did not click on any upgrades or miss any cross sales. Prove to me that the person only signed up to that one site, didn't make any upgrades or miss any cross sales, and then canceled his card.

People posting threads on GFY about having their cards banged IS NOT PROOF OF ANYTHING.

This is sooooo easy to prove. There should be video evidence of the entire sign up process. There should be video evidence of logging in, looking at content, then leaving and canceling. THEN show the extra charges on the bill. As much as you have been on their nuts, I know you must have recorded this whole process so you can bust them, right? Lets see it.

Show me PROOF that would hold up in a court of law.

If 1000s of people got their card banged, at least ONE person did this, right? Just to catch them and out them, I'm sure someone did. Show it to me. Just one.

If you can't then it is YOU who are the liar because you have no proof other than hearsay, which does not hold up in a court of law. And I'm not going to crucify someone unless I can prove it. Unlike the sheep who flock to webmaster boards. I need more than hearsay and anonymous or competitor board posts, who show nothing more that a credit card statement at best.

This isn't me debating if they did or if they didn't, this is me tell you to show me proof of what you claim I had knowledge of. Oh yes, speaking of, prove that I had access to their financials and would even know about such activity if it even existed.

I'll be waiting. I even have $100 for you if you can do it. Lets see the video you or anyone else made. I'll give you more money than you've ever made in a single day, I'll admit you're right and I'm wrong, and I'll change my sig to say I'm YOUR bitch.

This thread is hilarious. A guy with no traffic and zero chance at making any real sales to begin with complaining about sponsors verifying affiliates so they don't get hammered with fraudulent sales.

Seriously, if you pass on a program because they want to know who you are and where your traffic may come from, then you need to just keep with pulling RSS feeds into your one poorly designed blog that no one visits.

I saw three thread titles made by the grand retard Battuss (who is apparently just getting his feet wet in the business even though he's been a board troll since 2001) with the following sponsors: Island Dollars, Shemale Profits and Exotic Gold. All of which have some of the best shemale content on the entire internet. Yet this moron is passing because he has to be approved.

I'm not sure what shows him to be more of an ass. The fact that he is calling them out and totally clueless as to why a sponsor would want to look into who he is, or the fact that he is passing on the top shemale companies on his shemale site (which probably sucks balls anyway). Either way, he fails again.

Battuss, you are honestly an embarrassment to yourself. And yea, I know your great one and only "comeback" will be that I did business with people who ended up being scammers, because that's the ONLY thing you have to come back with, and you've been on this for years because you have nothing better to do but live on my nut sack. Quite pathetic really, but whatever gets you off.

VD Bucks and 12 Clicks are right on this. Battuss, you're an idiot. Those companies should be thankful they don't have to deal with dub ass Euro trash like you.

Stick to being a troll. It's probably the only thing in your life that you've been someone decent at.

I know it's annoying when you're trying to get a project done and you have to wait for links. I've been there too. However I think you might want to question how much money YOU'RE losing by not having the patience to wait 24 hours.

Let me explain what I mean. You've been in this business long enough to know that not all sponsors are created equal. Some sites sell better than others. It might be the tour, the join page or any number of things. So if you have to wait 24 hours for a link and instead you move on to a site that doesn't convert as well, how much money do you lose over the period of a year?

Sure, you might be right. But that's not what this thread is about. I still want to know what could possible happen to them in 24 hours that's worth losing potentially a shitload of money every year. And so far no one has explained this to me.
Also nobody has explained to me how exactly a signup form is going to stop scammers.

Hey I'm with you. Doesnt even matter if it's PPS or revshare because you're not going to get a payout over night anyways so in theory there's plenty of time to review an account. Especially if we're just talking about links and not members access anyways. Typically no sites give you auto members access and I know you're not talking about that anyways.

Generally what I do these days is sign up for the sponsors I might use at the begining of a project and not at the end.

You're not going to get a good answer as to why people do this. You're going to get people like Paul who have never made sales and have no real affiliates of their own. You're probably not going to change anybody's mind either. People are stubborn and once they've decided that's the way they want to do things, especially in this business, you're just wasting your breath trying to change their mind.

Run your own program for a while and then you'll realize where you are wrong.

Like DWB said, affiliates are are serious about making money with a good program aren't going to let something like manual approval and human interaction stop them from doing so. In general, the one's who have a problem with it are the ones who spend more time crying on messages boards than they do working to make money.

I'm not going to apologize to anyone for choosing to run my program how I want. I'm not going to sit around kissing ass hoping some loud mouth troll on a board will promote my program. There is a reason that our company has only ever had a problem with a single individual over the past 6 years.. and that individual is a mental case and wasn't an affiliate anyway.

And that's simply the bottom line. I have enough faith in my brand that I don't need to go kissing ass and begging to make money. Like I said twice now, we have more than doubled our bottom line in 2011 from 2010. And we're already off to a great start in 2012. Our active affiliates... those guys who actually make money, are happy with our program... and our top affiliates will be even happier in 2 months time when we release our new site to them.

Here's a simple suggestion. If you don't want to wait, go promote a lesser program. Then when you realize that they aren't converting, we'll be here.

just a thought -

they may want to check your not a surfer signing up trying to access the free content which if you were, could be a lost sale.
Thats the only thing I can think off.

I think bangbros enabled an approval when surfers were signing up like one a minute to access the free content area of the website because this tactic hit the forums.

How is a join form going to stop that. And that lost sale is worth more than 300 lost sales?

cant be much of a "project" if you cant wait 24hrs for approval. Then its not a project but a impulse.

At least 300 surfers need to sign up to justify not auto approving me. And that's just me. 1 webmaster.

I know you're sad idiot who is just here to bash me but let me explain it to you.
I'm working on a huge blog network. Actually people are doing it for me and the details for a good bunch of blogs went to one of the guys working on it this afternoon. Last moment i changed my mind about a tranny sponsor and i needed something else quick. As the mail was ready to go out. And i for sure wasn't gonna check my mail every 10 mins to see if i was approved.

Must suck right that i can do a project like this inbetween posting here on gfy and all you can do is look like a broke ass idiot who is trying to bash me and keeps on failing.

So what's your next shot? Be quick because i'm ready to log off.

hmm not sure, some programs i know require a real email address from a porn website rather than a free email account, obviously a surfer couldn't therefore verify and get access. Not sure about island dollars.

In the website field they may look at the url, then run a whois and see if it matches the data from the signup form.

Again im sure the majority of sites who do ask for approval dont so it for this reason and dont go as far to verify and im not sure on any other reasons

but its a thought.

trust me i hate it too. running a review site, you have hundreds of sign up forms to go through and its a pain when you want to grab a link and you have to wait. Especially the year for digital playground

Nowadays i never use a domain email anymore. I use gmail or yahoo.com. Unless they specifically ask for it.

another reason i know that mainstream sites verify is because they want to know your traffic sources before you send them a hit so you don't damage their "brand"

Or so they can steal your traffic if it is possible and cut you out.

I understand why it is often done. For instance there is a difference between letting a scammer in and stopping him at the door. If you show him that his account was never approved the chances are slight that he will send fraudulent signups which will chargeback. But if you let him in even for a minute then he might use that time to send them and you get stuck holding the bag

But the problem is that after a while affiliates get sick of wasting time having to chase sponsors doing the manual activation. If you require it at least take care of it once a day on weekdays. Also we get sick of all the BS restrictions, some of which you never declare. For instance some just silently ignore webmasters from certain countries. Others ignore gmail or yahoo addresses. Others ignore PO Boxes. If it's not one thing it's another. We just get tired of it. All the little games and bullshit grow tiring.

It's best to use some common sense. If the email address matches the whois and you do a search on the boards and find that the affiliate has been in the industry since 2002 then chances are they aren't trying to scam you.

the man needed his links asap...24 hr approval isnt asap and sometimes 24hrs becomes 24day and so on.

auto approve then check within 24hrs is a better policy imo.

Also nobody has explained to me how exactly a signup form is going to stop scammers.
It is not complicated at all.

Manual approval is a very effective way to stop scammers before they even begin sending carded sales to you.

It is much more efficient to stop a problem before it begins rather than clean up the mess afterwards.

These guys often create the accounts and then come back to them and play their games months after creation. Does it stop them ? No. Does it make it easier for the program owner to deal with their bullshit ? Yes.

Ironically it is the programs with manual approval that you should be promoting.

i think you are talking BS... if you really build a network without checking let a lone signing up to the sponsors you want to promote you have no idea what y're doing

Good luck with your site's anyway

Trouwens.. Je moest eens weten hoeveel grote nederlandse affiliates er in de shemales zitten... dit soort threads doen je geen goed ;)

Man I feel you on this, it can really suck when it comes to the manual approval stuff. Most sponsors approve you pretty quickly but I've signed up with some that don't reply for a week or so.

I understand why they do it and I have no problem with it so long as they get in touch with you or approve you with in a reasonable amount of time.

He's a moron who's been trolling for 10+ years and is trying to pretend he's someone because he has a high post count. A simpleton attention whore who wants us all to believe that he has huge projects going on that'll make us thousands a year... forget that he can't even plan ahead more than 30 seconds... he's a "real" pro...

In reality, he probably just wanted free content to jerk off to, and got upset that his "join an affiliate program" method for free porn didn't work out.
