If you knew anything about it - The arid land is the problem yes, but the biggest problem is that EVERYONE DOES MOVE to a new area, but then that area can't sustain them all, so it gets used up, and then they have to move again. The truth is why should we care. Really? These people come from cultures that are as old as human recorded history. They have had centuries more time than we have to perfect their society. They have brains. They know how to reproduce obviously, yet after centuries of having the same problem they can't figure out how to take care of themselves?

The thing is though that there's 192 countries in the world, why does everyone always look to the US to help out. We give out MORE than enough money, doing our share to help out starving people in the world. If all of the other countries in the world were as generous as the US, we'd pay to solve all of the worlds problems.

Where the hell did you dig those numbers up from ??? The US is CONSTANTLY giving out MILLIONS of dollars left and right. I'm sure that we gave out more than $30 million in a years time.

Fuck, the US can't even borrow money to contries without being generous about it. I think that it was South Africa that we LOANED 10 million dollars to, then came back and said "Don't worry about it". I wish that they'd loan that money to me, ha ha ha.

As far as my comments go, I wasn't saying that we're the only country that helps out others, BUT we're one of the biggest while there are some countries that don't give what they could.

PLUS, people don't realize all of the millions of dollars we spend having our forces all over the world, do you see Canadian troops stationed all around like the US's troops ??? How many Canadian troops are in Iraq right now ??? I'm sure that there's a hell of a lot more US troops there. I think that it's charity when we're putting our lives and money on the line.

If all us western countries stopped propping up their corrupt dicators and selling them arms, maybe they would be able to support themselves.

the amount spent by developed countries on aid is relatively tiny but saves millions of lives. if our countries stopped spending on aid none of you would notice the SLIGHTEST difference to your wage packet at the end of the week. and yet this prevents millions of innoncent children dying. it's called humanity.

Have you been to China? I have. Yeah the news do not hit the International medias from there but they do locally. Yes kids there are burning hands and all making fireworks and buncha other small stuffs, nothing big like 100 million dollars damages.. say why cos they mostly don't have factories that worth 100 million and if they do they couldn't afford to get it burnt.. would have a heck to get insurance companies to cough up that money if they ever do. roly Confirmed User Join Date: Aug 2002 Posts: 1,844	some of the comments about "just let them die" is fucking sick, and "why don't they just move" is ignorant as shit, these are people who might have to walk 40 miles for water, they haven't got money to jump on a plane. most of these famines are caused by drought, corrupt dictators or war, and is no fault of the people that are dying, and their ignorance is only through lack of education again through lack of money. If all us western countries stopped propping up their corrupt dicators and selling them arms, maybe they would be able to support themselves. the amount spent by developed countries on aid is relatively tiny but saves millions of lives. if our countries stopped spending on aid none of you would notice the SLIGHTEST difference to your wage packet at the end of the week. and yet this prevents millions of innoncent children dying. it's called humanity.
