At Paxum we accept utility bills (such as gas, water, etc), bank or credit card statements, or Drivers LIcense for Proof of Address documentation.

Please submit a full color, uncropped, high quality resolution scan/photo in order to verify your Paxum account. We do not accept electronic documents.

All registered Paxum accounts can receive money at any time, however yes, you do require a verified Paxum account in order to transfer those funds to another Paxum user, or to withdraw the funds yourself.

If you do not wish to submit more documents to us, then the only option you have is to reverse the funds back to the person who sent them to you, and request they pay you a different way. We cannot issue a check to an unverified account.

If you have a drivers license or utility bill you could provide a scan/photo of instead for Proof of Address, then we could verify your account so you could request your funds via check.

This would be difficult here as well. We've gone completely paperless for all of our bank statements, utility bills, phone bills, everything. I'm not looking forward to when I have to renew documents as, like the OP, I don't have any paper documents anymore as they are ALL electronic. Well, except for my Driver's License.

Ruth: this is something you folks should seriously reconsider. EVERY utility company, all banks, mortgage lenders, etc. all offer -- and in fact many encourage, going to electronic statements over paper ones.

Every other day there is a complaint like this. You would think they would try to be more reasonable. The good news is that if you are a U.S. affiliate who doesn't do many adult p2p transactions there is no reson why you need Paxum. If a sponsor refuses to do 1) Checks 2) ACH 3) Paypal then I'll find someone else instead unless I make enough to get a monthly wire from them.

Made a phone call to my bank today, wanted to open another account, emailed them electronic documents, they emailed me back a pdf file, I signed it by using my built in camera on my Mac to scan a post it note with my signature on it and store it in my Mac's Preview app as an electronic copy of my signature, pasted that on the PDF file, emailed it back, and got my username and password for my online bank login...

Banks can do this, why does Paxum require such idiotic fucking verification methods?

They asked for my drivers licence which I begrudgingly scanned and blacked out personal details (d/l number etc) and then they told me they do not know what my countrys d/l looks like so it is more than likely a photoshop

Companies like PAxxum probably require more and more proof of who you are, thanks to the ton of fraud they are probably exposed to.

It should be the responsibility of the user to verify everything the provider needs, in whatever format they need it in, before starting the setup process. Make sure you can provide them with everything they need and in the format they want first.

Everything you mentioned above with the exception of my drivers license is sent to me electronically.

Electricity bill - Electronic. Bank Statements - Electronic. Rates notices - Electronic. Water Bill - Electronic. I can't remember the last time I received ANY mail that comes close to satisfying those requirements.

I for one got a request for a new batch of documents after 2 or 3 years of using it without issues and having submitted DNA samples and my baptism certificate. I guess they asked for all the stuff again just in case I'm not myself anymore.

That plus some idiotic restrictions in my country made me say Paxum buh-bye, just using my good ole Paypal account for which I submitted like 10% of what Paxum asks for and only once (I had it for more than 10 years)

If I were in the situation I would consider writing to them and telling them that I am concerned about identity theft and whether all the necessary protections and regulations are being followed by Paxum (for instance what must happen in these situations, disclosure, privacy, precautions, liability). Interesting. What about those who live in rural communities with shared site PO Boxes. That IS their actual mailing address. That IS their civic address. (eg. Site 2, Box 23)

That said, I've said it before and will do so again, no one has worse ticket support than Paxum... no one.

Kovachi: Although after the fact, what we did was up our thresholds at various programs to $500 or higher... and receive wires. Depending on your location (if outside the USA), you can probably open a USD bank account via your bank and then get a US VISA card. This is the route we are taking as we migrate away from Paxum.

I like Paxum, and understand the KYC compliance, but I suspect I'll encounter similar nonsense with a change of address at renewal time. Our Driver's Licenses are all electronically encoded now, so the change of address is not visible on the DL itself. Considering all our bills, mortgage, bank statements, etc are all electronic, and my Driver's License's change of address is also electronic and not visible, there's no way to submit any document with my actual address as I don't have one. I'm interested to see how this thread turns out.

No, when your Paxum card expires you do not have to resubmit anything, unless your documentation on file has expired as well. We require a valid ID to be on file for every Paxum account-holder at all times. When ID expires we provide a generous amount of time for the account-holder to provide a valid ID before any account limitations are imposed.

Actually, with all due respect, in response to the question that I was asked (namely; will I verify the documents myself?) the ONLY true answer is no. If I were to answer yes then that would be a definitive lie, since I have absolutely ZERO access to any submitted documentation or account profile information. There is no way I can personally verify any documentation for any Paxum account-holder.

venusgal, no, the bank doesn't allow you to have a bank account because of your looks, however when you enter the bank for the first time and initiate a new bank account you ARE there in person, they DO see your picture ID at that time and they can confirm that your face and your ID match. At Paxum we generally do not have that luxury as we are an online International service and most of our customers can't visit us in our offices. Also, to avoid any confusion, Paxum is not a bank. So yes, your bank can more easily do these things because they have seen you, and your ID, in person.
