The DHS isn't really new at all. It's just a new way of organization what we have and putting them under one department. For example, we've had the Immigration and Naturalization Service for decades, and now this is part of the DHS. So is the Border Patrol. It also includes the US Secret Service and I think the Coast Guard?

Hannity's show is a scam. For instance, on one occasion he broadcast from a barren crop field suffering from drought and claimed that liberals refused to allow the farmers to use nearby river water because they were protecting a tiny fish.

What Hannity failed to mention during the show is that the farmers were permitted a certain amount of emergency water for the crops, but these farmers took a gamble and sold the rights to this water before the farming season started.

He also didn't talk about how the downstream fishing industry relied on the smaller fish getting through so the bigger fish could eat them.

The entire network is smoke & mirrors.

Remember? Nixon won in 1968 as he vowed to END the Vietnam War and he beat Hubert Humphrey who was the Democrat nominee and was Johnson's Vice-President and supported the war.

Don't be fooled by these politicians trying to pretend that their party is somehow "better". They are all crooks.

I registered and voted Libertarian in 2012 because of my disgust at Bush and Obama and the Dem and Republican parties overall.

People did vote for change. I supported Bush on a large number of issues. Iraq, 9/11, Afghanistan.... But at the end Bush destroyed our economy. It doesn't matter what role he played in it, he was in the White House and he gets the blame. When people "voted for a change" what that really means is "anything other than a Republican".

I think the Republican party got the majority of the blame for the economy, for better or worse, and putting up McCain and then Romney was bad decisions. In the mean time, the Republican party has been nothing but jerks since then. There is no unity. At all.

I wonder where this is going. Who will the Democrats run - Hillary? Oh god no. And who will stand up for the Republicans? Might be fun.

But to me, the dems rhetoric & agenda are somewhat in line. obamacare? a government solution to the uninsured. the deficit? they say that stimulus & job growth is more important then austerity.

Repubs? wall to wall hypocrisy on core issues. as someone who prefers small tax rates, limits on government power, & the right to sell porn, the repubs should be my party, in theory.

Both clubs need some restructure, Obamacare has over 20,000 pages of regulation, that can't be good. Job Growth? Her wind up takes a minute, but then she dives into some of the recent pearls of wisdom from Republican members of congress on abortion. With all of the things that need to be done in Congress, and all of the potentially good things they shoot down, a national abortion ban is what they're passionate about -- voting it through by something like 95% -- even though it's going to get vetoed by Obama.

Watch the entire video. Wouldn't anyone be angry about this shit, no matter which side your on? You wouldn't see FOX news complaining about shit like this, because their values are in the wrong place. That's the difference between MSNBC and FOX.

I've been worried about ALL the politicians running our country for a while now.

That's what I don't think you are really focusing on. You are picking "sides" when there aren't any among politicians. They are all the same.

I don't believe that any Republican or Democrat in Congress gives 2 shits about abortion (or anything else) one way or another. They simply choose their "position" on the "issues" according to what will get them elected or re-elected and keep them in their nice positions of power and wealth.

There is simply NO way that politicians care one bit about you, me, or any of these things that they debate all the time.
They are just wanting to keep their own power.

As for Rachel Maddow...she is "reporting" (if you call talking about stupid comments from politicians "reporting) whatever will get her fan base of ultra-liberal viewers and lesbians (she is definitely THE superstar of the lesbian community) to watch the show and bring in ratings.
And it works for her somewhat.
She gets trounced 2 to 1 by Hannity in the ratings...BUT, she's kicking the shit out of Piers Morgan on CNN in the ratings. So she's at number 2 in her time slot.

By the way, the "conservative" shows like Hannity do the same exact thing to Democrat politicians as Maddow is doing with Republican politicians.
Hannity will play montages of Democrat politicians that will feature them taking one side on an issue and then taking the EXACT OPPOSITE side at another time. He has a great one of Obama making promises and then later breaking them.

What Maddow is doing with that vid is good television and good entertainment. Where she fucks it all up...is by not following it up with a conservative guest to debate them over the video.
Instead...she follows it up on her show with other ultra-liberal guests who all smirk and laugh and agree with her 100%

And that is why Hannity is killing her in the ratings. He brings on liberals to defend themselves and that is far more interesting to the viewers.

The ideaolgy was probably there at the start for most of them, but a quick look at what any govt in the UK in the last 20 or 30 years (I can't speak from experience for other countries obviously) has actually done tells you all you need to know about how much the politicians genuinely care about the people they are supposed to be working for, and representing.
