The new trend now is to also refuse to payout to affiliates below the minimum who request it along with a closing of their account.
If I got my accounts paid out once every 6 months or a year, you would never hear a peep from me about minimum payouts. But as a review site owner in this dismal climate, it's a serious problem.

The truth is that it isn't a problem of paying people too often for small amounts, it's that program owners have gotten fat eating from their (our) float, and rely on it to pay their own bills.

Maybe we can get a Barefootsies clap to that? Doubt it. Pissing on your business partners is something to be proud of, after all.

And what about affiliates who send more than $1000+ worth of traffic, but does not tell where to pay, and even seems unreachable if you try to contact them, even they continue to send traffic and signups, but you can't find how to pay them?
I have a few.

This is a really important point.

For me, for example, if a program has an update with an alt girl in it, if they are CCBill, I will toss them some promo and probably make a few joins. If they do not regularly have those types of updates, I don't feel like giving an $80 zero interest loan to a lot of programs.

Given the structure of what niches I promote, I simply do not promote programs which are NATS standalone, if I do not think I will be likely to make their minimums at least once a month.

I think one of the secrets of PimpRoll's success is not having minimum payouts like that. PimpRoll comes across more baller for looking like it can afford to pay its affiliates.

The one place where I view the payout threshold as a real issue is where programs change from say $50 to $250. Affiliates have made their decisions on what strategy to use in promotion, based on many factors, including payout threshold.

I understand why small outfits may wish to do accounting more infrequently, but I see no good reason for any large company to be lazy about paying what they owe. How long does it really take to get the system to autogenerate another check?

Review sites probably pre-target and pre-sell traffic better than anyone in the adult marketplace.

Not everyone out there takes 2000 hits to make a sale if you know what the hell you're doing... some people have been dominating a certain niche for years and still know how to do so...

Bold added for emphasis. This is a really important point. I am super glad I'm not trying to just sell general interest adult now. Focusing on specific niches does create specific patterns and needs, from an affiliate perspective.

To be fair, I can't go back to 2001 and change my business model. ;) And I wouldn't anyway, I made a killing some years.

Too late to adapt, there's much easier fish to fry than adult these days. I've written up like $75k in proposals this weekend. I just have no energy to focus on diminishing returns. It's too depressing.

17 milion joins in 15 years of your industry career means at least 1 milion joins a year, means at least 2.5k joins a day and yet still posting on GFY, of course sir
