Buy the way Crimean people voted ~95% "yes" to join to Russia. So, next month Miami will join Cuba lol

Watched the documentary last night - pretty sad. One can totally understand why Tito always kept Kosovo autonomous - probably the only way to co-exist with a nation that can't do pretty much anything else than cause trouble.

Experts of the US National Geographic Society say they will mark Crimea as part of Russia. The chief geographer of the National Geographic Society, Juan Valdes, has said that once the Russian Parliament ratifies the treaty on accepting Crimea into the Russian Federation, the Crimean Republic will officially become Russian territory, according to the Bloomberg news agency.

not exactly. Tito's fault was that he gave them special treatement (constitution from 1974 that Serbia opposed). Only Serbia (from all yugoslav republics) was divided and two autonomous provinces were created (Kosovo and Vojvodina). That was done under Tito's rule and he was a Croat that never liked Serbs. He was fighting against Serbs and Russians back in WW1. (paste from wikipedia: In January 1915, he was sent to the Eastern Front in Galicia to fight against Russia. He distinguished himself as a capable soldier, becoming the youngest Sergeant Major in the Austro-Hungarian Army.[19] For his bravery in the face of the enemy, he was recommended for the Silver Bravery Medal but was taken prisoner of war before it could be formally presented.")

What Tito did on Kosovo is that he let mass migration of Albanians in deal with Communist Albanian Leader Enver Hodza , and that way he changed demographics there.

It is true, muslim fanatics and uneducated population can only make problems. For example, there were never problems with other ethnic minorites like Hungarians in Vojvodina. All of them have same rights which means language, schools, church, tv,radio, newspappers, etc. but Albanians even denied to have own university that Milosevic was giving to them. Their only goal was to take land and have own country.

All ex yugoslav republics were sending money to Kosovo to somehow make them civilized, but it never worked. At the end, West and NATO armed them and supported them and now we have shithole in the middle of europe, with smugglers, killers, drug traficking and organ harvesting gangs....of course, supported by nearby US army base and european frioends, same those that are helping Nazis in Ukraine.

While the rest of the Western world refuses to accept Russia?s annexation by force of Ukraine?s Crimean peninsula, National Geographic was quick to recognize the territorial takeover.

As you can see, National Geographic maps Crimea as part of Russia.

Google has continued to show Crimea as part of Ukraine.

I guess that depends on a number of factors including how you define democracy.

Crimea, Sevastopol officially join Russia as Putin signs final decree.

Russian Prime Minister Medvedev said that Ukraine owes Russia $11 billion because the treaty under which Russia provides Ukraine with cheap gas in return for the Sevastopol naval base was "subject to denunciation".

In addition, he said that Ukraine owes Russia $3 billion for a recent loan in the form of Russian purchase of Eurobonds, and that around $2 billion is owed to Gazprom, Russia's state-controlled gas concern.

you were talking about 'annexation' and 'territorial takeover', and stated something about 'admitting what has been happening for weeks'

Crimea just voted for this on the 6th. hard to call something a 'take-over', when the democratic process has been followed

what's funny, of course, is i don't think the Parliament can 'vote the president out of power', but i suppose the action was backed by the free world

Just for clarification because you choose to cherry pick comments in the thread:

The "annexation by force" and "takeover" comments were quoted by me by 1 of our Russian Board members here.

Perhaps it is time to use whatever you need to correct your vision and reread the thread.

Or is it you have a problem with me, if so maybe it should be discussed privately.

Your Russian "friends" here on the board stated for weeks that Russia/Putin was not forcing any issue and troops were in Crimea to protect Russian Citizens and Interests, correct?

Now 1 of these same posters admits that Russia has "Annexed by force" and "taken over".

Do you understand my comment and how it relates to the comment I quoted now or does this need to be simplified more for you?

are you referring to the people who are using english as a second, third, or perhaps fourth language?

we know better, don't we?

i notice you entirely avoided talking about democracy, and if you still believe in it

and, to be entirely blunt, i just posted this in order to give way for our economic partners to point out our new visions of 'democracy'

I noticed you entirely avoided acknowledging my explanation or that in fact you misspoke about me posting the annexation or take over comments rather than just quoting them.

To be blunt with you your economic partners and my economic partners are not the same.

You may have whatever view of democracy you would like and I will have mine.

The major difference between you and I is I will defend your right to speak freely whether I agree with it or not.

What my exact beliefs are is not the issue in this thread are they?
If you would like to discuss my beliefs perhaps you should contact me privately rather then hijack this thread.

Do I believe in democracy? Yes I do, however what exactly democracy is up for debate that should be left for another thread or private conversation so this thread can get back on topic.

do you usually make such assumptions? if so, let me know, so i can ignore you now

i asked you a question based on your vague insinuations that people are 'admitting' to things

do you have a problem with that?

if so, why are you on the internet?

if you do, how can it be 'annexation' or 'territory takeover'?

it's a vote. they voted to leave the Ukraine, and requested to join russia.

for the record, the word you and they are looking for is 'amalgamation'

but it makes for shitty fox news headlines

As far as I know the only referendum that is eligible to choose the Crimea status would be all Ukrainian, not a local.

That's correct. We tried to bring democracy to Vietnam. After we left, the communist North Vietnam took over.

Again someone else made the annexation and takeover comments, I just quoted them.

You seem to be too dense to understand that or is it you are trying to push buttons or provoke a issue with me?

Yes ignore me that would be your absolute best course of action.

"Your" trading partners are not "My" trading partners, your countries and my countries trading partners may be the same but yours and mine are certainly not.

Do you have a comprehension problem?

Or again I ask you if your issue is personal with me?

It would have be appropriate for you to man up and say so but I can see that does not apply to you and your thought process.

I will not go any farther then that even though you would like me to.

If you want to continue this you are welcome to contact me privately, if not kindly fuck off and do feel free to take that personal.

Now rather then act like a 10 year old and try to keep this going by trying to have the last word ignore me or act like a man and resolve your issue with me privately.

Show everyone here what kind of a man you are.

Thank you for noticing!

It's my job to be an abrasive fuck and an asshole, what is your excuse?

I have always been an asshole magnet which would explain your attraction to me.

You are free to choose the alternative lifestyle if you like, I am not interested in it or you though. Sorry to disappoint you, I hope you can deal with this rejection.

You are the 1 that said you were going to ignore me and not follow through with it, just like the avg. child of approx. 10 years. I encouraged you to ignore me didn't I?

Now be a good boy and stop hijacking your comrades thread as I suggested before.

Although the following quotes by the OP sum up the whole thread:

What a fucking hypocrite Putin is, in his view the independence of Kosovo is illegitimate then uses it as an argument for Crimea breaking away from Ukraine.

And the Serbs still don't understand why they can't have a Serbian Empire. Yugoslavia crumbled and the crumbs wanted their independence from each other.

WTF is wrong with Eastern Europe and Russia, you're practically all Slavs and share the same religion - why do you hate each other so much? Get out your accordions and dance a polka together.

Your words, no twists, no propaganda, no spin, straight from you.

The statements you made contradict each other and basically negate any defense or rhetoric you try to post going forward. Best part is it is there for all time and you can not edit it to suit your agenda.

Annexation by Force = Invasion

Referendum for Independence does not = Annexation

That news brought to you by National Geographic.

Anyone with sense of fairness should accept the choice of the Crimeans.

But you stated Russia took Crimea by Force.

Those are your words, you can not argue you did not say it.

After you posted this thread titled "Russia didn't Invade Ukraine" and we all know Crimea was a territory under Ukraine control.

Where is the "choice" in the "Take Over and Annexation" you speak of?

Remember that talk all your comrades made about the referendum being for Crimean Independence? A Independent Crimea would not be annexed or taken over by Russia.

Your own words show you and the situation for what it is.

Your posts are nothing more then propaganda to justify a act of aggression on a neighboring sovereign nations territory. A nation your leaders signed a non aggression agreement with.
