Yes but this isn't what Venzilla is trying to make it out to be. This is just adding a single bullet which should of been added at the time of the ban. It's not a new law or banning guns or all .223 rounds it's just banning a very specific round which has already been banned in other calibers.

Assault rifle bullet sells out ahead of proposed ban - Mar. 9, 2015

well looky looky. turns out obama is banning green tip, TO PROTECT POLICE OFFICERS.

Quote:
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives recently announced a proposal to include M855 in its long-standing ban on armor piercing ammunition in order to better protect police officers.
so the NRA & Vendzilla oppose the safety of police officers, just to oppose obama.

Can you even read? The ammo is not the problem you fucking retard. In an AR15 they can't ban it, they are calling on it because someone made a pistol that can fire it. It amazes me just how fucking retarded you are some times

“All rifle ammo made with lead ammo is able to penetrate a soft body ‘vest’ because of the high velocity of rifle rounds,” said Lawrence Keane, senior vice president and general counsel of the National Shooting Sports Foundation. “So banning M855 does not advance law officer safety. No police officer has ever been shot and killed with a so-called ‘armor piercing’ bullet fired from a handgun that penetrated a vest.”

White House says ammo ban will save cops' lives - Washington Times

He dose everything they tell him on right wing TV & radio. Hence Benghazi.. Remember how outraged Vendzilla was about Benghazi? It was over and over again that boohoo Obama this Obama that.. Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi.. After 4, 5 , 15 (who knows) investigations on Vendghazi gate nothing was found to be out of line but they still to this day will never admit they were wrong.

They just move on to the next bitch & moan..

There's other kinds of .223 you can buy. Again, conservatives are distorting information to suit their knee-jerk agenda.

What's so special about M88 that you just have to have it? By the way, I used to reload my own 223 when I owned a CAr15.

Please you ignorant fuck, name one cop that had died from a .223 pistol!

I agree, that its dumb to ban the ammo because it can go into a handgun. It makes no fucking sense actually.

But you can still buy .223 ammo, so why cry about one variant?

There is nothing special about that round, that's the point

That round would just be the first, this is about testing the water to see if they can get away from it, every round that can be put in an AR15 has the same capability.

So does a 30.06 in pistol form, they have had those for decades. A 30.06 pistol will go right thru a cops vest.

What's really funny is that the new ar15 pistols that Obama is bringing up is 2 feet long and weights in at 6 pounds. Does this sounds like any pistol you have shot?

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has backed away from what first appeared to be an immediate plan to ban a popular type of ammunition, and now claims that some confusion was caused by a ?publishing mistake.?

In February, the ATF published a new framework for deciding what ammunition is ?primarily intended for sporting purposes? and thus can be exempted from a federal ban on armor piercing ammo. The ATF also put out a regulation guide that didn?t including a current listing of exceptions, including the popular M855 cartridge that?s used in the AR-15 rifle.

A government foot in the door is never a good thing in any industry. This is a precedent that shouldn't be set.

In 99% of industries I think you're correct. Government reigning over the private sector is bad.

But 99% of industries don't manufacture products made to fire hot lead at 3500 feet per second. A little overwatch is OK with me, and as I've said before -- I've had a lifelong love of guns and have owned many, including assault rifles. Why does gun ownership need to go hand in hand with being an "over-reactionist"?

DEVELOPING ...

The ATF is shelving a controversial proposal to ban a popular type of bullet, amid opposition from hundreds of congressional lawmakers.

The ATF said in a statement on Tuesday they would not seek to issue final guidelines "at this time."

Probably sneak it thru next year buried in a children's lunch subsidy bill, lol.

You mean like how Republicans in Congress are trying to do away with net neutrally once again by calling the bill "Internet FREEDOM Act"?

Ironically all but 2 of those whom sponsored the "Internet FREEDOM Act" received money from Comcast.. (I wonder what those 2 did wrong)

Thanks, Obama..

Any bullet can kill a cop, this round out of a AR15 pistol never has and the ATF is not going to do this right now because of people standing up to it!

You guys really don't know how heavily your government regulates business and your everyday life in general? It seems not, if banning some ammunition type seems as a big deal or as some precedent case. Even the right to have guns is from government and government controlled. The whole framework of your life is government controlled. Your rights, oblications, liberties and so on.. all from the government. Even the right for your own propery-> from government.

And USA is not famous for its freedom anyways.. I mean outside US. Kinda opposite.

all that you mentioned is addressed in the Constitution of the United States, a document created by our government. the right to bear arms is in that Constitution. our personal rights, freedoms and liberties are also in there.

so, fyi, of course we really do know that the government regulates in general.

so, fyi, of course we really do know that the government regulates in general.
The Constitution didn't say you had a right to own .223 ammo, just like it didn't say you had a right to own a suitcase nuclear bomb. The Constitution stated "arms" and it's up to the people & elected officials to determine which "arms" are appropriate to bare.

Obviously it's not appropriate for any citizen to own a nuclear warhead or a tomahawk missile. Much the same as the average person should not be walking around with an automatic machine gun.

These limits are set, because they are sensible and no, not being allowed to own them doesn't mean anyone is violating your constitutional rights. If the majority of "the people" do not want these things on the streets then they should not be on the streets.

This is the problem with guns and lack of regulations, right now everyone is held hostage by a small very vocal group of people whom think they should be able to do and own anything they want regardless of how that affects the majority of people.

if you can come up with something better, run along and make your own country without guns.
I don't want a country without guns. I want one where people have some common sense and reason about the possession of them.
