So i mailed to someone and my questions were (are) the following:

- why do you need an invoice now, is there some kind of change of regulations ?
- What are the informations that you need on the invoice ?
- Do you have some webpage to generate a pdf invoice automatically...

Dating Factory does this, but we generate an invoice on the information you give us and automatically submit it. Easy peasy.

I see this as a great step towards getting rid of all the hobbyists.

If you dont know how to send a invoice and what it should include, you have no business being here anyway. Even Excel and Libreoffice have a template for it, so you can get it done for $0 ,-

We do not require an invoice and no one from our company (that I am aware of) has ever asked anyone to provide an invoice for payment.

Also, I have not received an email from you regarding this.

Uh, oh, Pormasta. I looks like you may have just gotten scammed out of your basic business information and some details of the business you've been doing with Gamelink. It's hard to seee how that info would be worth the scam effort; I hope the scammer doesn't have some clever way to hurt you with it.

Unfortunately this kind of scam will get easier in future, because there does seem to be a developing trend of a few programs trying to use invoices and paperwork demands to slow down the velocity of their affiliate payments (thus giving themselves interest-free loans on the float) and suck up free money from all the low-attention affiliates who aren't aware of the new payment requirements, especially if they aren't communicated clearly by affiliate email. DDFcash took quite a bit of flack (full disclosure, some of it from me) earlier in the month for doing this with a particularly confused (and never clarified) email to affiliates:

Meaning no offense to Jeff, who sounds very professional and helpful, this is what programs frequently say when questioned on industry forums. And it makes perfect sense for them. Invoices are so 90's

I have a word template that I fill out when they ask. If they are are not in the billing system which does it on it's own.

Thanks, but according to the french law i have to send a receipt after each payment, and i was used to send some until i noticed that it created more trouble to sponsors that asked me nothing. I continue to make these invoices on my side, but i keep them for myself.
So i use "pre-receipts" as invoices. It's just that i can't add the amount in euros, now...

I've been an affiliate since the mid-1990's. Promote hundreds of programs.
So for 20 years I've never needed to send anyone an invoice.

How am I supposed to magically know how to do it and what it should include? And how does that make me a "hobbyist" when I have made a little over 14 million dollars as an affiliate in the last 20 years?

I know how to do it. My point was that I've NEVER had to do it in the entire history of the adult online affiliate model.

And that doesn't make a person a "hobbyist". If you only did affiliate work for a living then you would have no clue on this.

Also...for guys like me with my Stats Remote full of programs, how in the hell am I supposed to go to all of them and invoice them every time I need to get paid?

We certainly haven't had any "pressure" from our "local tax authority" yet. But knowing how the govt. works it would not surprise me.

I am referring to companies in Europe and their local tax authorities.

Companies in Europe need the correct documentation for all funds leaving their business.

Correct documentation means invoices with the correct legal identity and address, VAT number if applicable, and the reason for the payment.

If you do not have all of this in place when you get an audit then the tax authority can assume that the payments you are making are not legitimate business expenses. They can then assume that you are a) paying the money to yourself and you need to pay more personal income tax, or b) the company is paying the money to itself to avoid additional corporate taxation.

Either way if you do not have the correct documentation to hand it can be a very difficult process.

So you will see more European companies putting their house in order because the tax enforcement situation in Europe is changing. Just because a company has never asked for this before does not mean there is anything sinister happening.

However the smarter companies realise that our American friends tend to find raising an invoice a bit "taxing". So we take your details once, and then automatically create the invoice in house whenever a payment is due.

This method would probably be frowned upon by a tax inspector, but it saves your company from the gfy hoard labelling you a "scammer" or a "shady program".

yes, i made an error: i had to request two payments...
gamelink and gamerevenue, i thought i received an answer from gamelink, while it was the answer of gamerevenue.
I made this topic about gamelink because i didn't receive an answer after i sent the answer to the first mail, but it was obviously because of my error... :/
I received this payment of gamelink, while i'm still struggling with gamerevenue.

Also i could write another subject, about the fact that i have to complain more and more to sponsors to get paid or to correct errors (ddgcash). For gamelink the explanation is that they have problem to reload their paxum account...

Your level of engagement strongly implies that you are involved with, or at least sympathetic to, the class of program owners who view affiliates as people to be jerked around and stolen from. And since you cannot or will not engage with my arguments, every time you speak up it makes you (and the people you are implicitly defending) look worse to the people I am talking to.
