I have made a website with the CB V1 API. Now sometimes i see the grey CB logo between the other cams, and when i click it i get the login screen.
In other words, the grey CB logo means that it is a cam that you only can see if you login.

Is there a possibility to filter that rooms out?

July has been bad. This is my first post on this forum and I got here trying to find information from other Chaturbate affiliates on this month's surprisingly low performance. I have been an affiliate of Chaturbate's program for 10 years, and I am quite successful, this month has been 3 standard deviations below my average performance on the site.

There is something to be said about the political landscape affecting US spending patterns which is where the grossest slice of the tipping demographic comes from. However, I don't see a similar impact on my other affiliate programs, at least not on my earnings from Stripchat, which is the most similar Sponsor to chaturbate I work with.

It rather seems to me like the lack of optimization on Chaturbate's promo tools algo is finally catching up with the spending on the site, takes a while to trickle down. One of those compound effects you only end up noticing over long stretches of time. I could be wrong but it almost seems like it's a woman directing the selection.

It has been a very slow couple of periods. My user base is quite old and well fed, some of my spenders signed up all the way back in 2015, and my program consists of thousands of accounts a spending a little rather than one huge deep pocket “whale”, so I have a rather stable income, almost no variation, and yet my revenue is down 2 or 3 standard deviations from my average.

There is something to be said about the political climate in the US, how this instability is making people weary and when anxiety is in the air everyone lets go of their crotch to clutch the wallet. However, I am not seeing the same effect in some of my other affiliate programs, for instance, my Stripcash account while a bit slower because it’s the summer, isn’t seeing such a dramatic drop in revenue.

One of my theories is Chaturbate’s careless algorithm for placement in the promo tools is finally catching up with the spending patterns of the tippers site wide. This is one of those compound effects easy to overlook on the short term but the impact is dramatic over the long haul. The algo is not good for affiliates because it doesn’t drive much traffic, the conversion rate is poor and this translates into less density of tipping. Meaning… there is much less tipping action per 1000 users. When there is less tipping users who tip are also less inclined to tip so it has a snowball effect. So if you are driving less traffic, if your traffic is converting poorly or if your accounts aren’t spending as much as they used to, the problem is with Chaturbates promo tools algorithm.

Clicked traffic: 21057 clicks, 14496 uniques, 49 Free signups, $188.52 total users spent, my Revenue 37.70 USD. Very bad conversion rate.

I will do my best to be succint.

When working as an affiliate every single detail matters. If you pay attention and take great care of the details when you advertise a sponsor you can do 10 times more. You can drive 10 times more traffic, get 10 times more signups, and if you run a white label you can make them spend 10 times more.

What matters? Everything matters. You have to put yourself in the mind of someone who has never seen Chaturbate before and who comes across your pop-under or embedded cam or whatever. What is the first impression? Where do they click? The available buttons, the positions of said buttons, the general feel, everything plays a part, the most important being WHO is featured on these promo tools you are using because different webmodels have wildly different effects on the person seeing them.

Some webmodels are terrible all around when they are featured in the promo tools they don't drive traffic or signups and they certainly don't get users to spend because they LOOK AND FEEL like a recording. The person who comes across these ads thinks they are seeing a pre-recorded video, and ignores the ad like it was literal spam, they don't think there is an actual person there performing. These are simply terrible webmodels to use for all intents and purposes. Whatever traffic you put this in front of is wasted.

There are some webmodels who are great for driving traffic. When you feature them everyone clicks. Some don't drive that much traffic but they make people sign up at 10x the rate of others. I have my observations on what type of model will be better suited for each intention, but that would be too long for this post, maybe if there is interest I can write more on this.

The problem is the webmodels featured in Chaturbate's promo tools are given to you by Chaturbate. You cannot select which model you want to appear on the embedded frame or the pop-under on your site, you can only pick the gender. So you are stuck with whatever models Chaturbate selects for the embedded frame, etc.

The way it is currently set up is Chaturbate will rotate the "top 10 cams" through these tools pretty much at random and the "top models" are selected going by registered users watching, that's their criterion. And there are two complications here, first the fact that studios cheat a lot and inject fake registered users into their webmodel's room to get them better placements. And the second is the fact that Chaturbate itself seems to have something going on that selects against a number of things including different body sizes and levels of nudity/explicit actions going on.

What is the result? The result is the promo tools are dominated by webmodels who come from studios, who have almost exclusively a fit or slender body type, who are completely naked and peforming sexual acts. THEY LOOK AND FEEL LIKE RECORDINGS and this is the single worst type of model you can feature in an ad.

This didn't use to be this way a few years ago, you found all kinds of body types and levels of undress in the promo tools, mostly independent webmodels camming from home with imperfect backgrounds, amateur feel... which is a HUGE advantage for driving both traffic and signups. I would say this changed somewhere around 2019, definitely before the pandemic.

What is the result? As a result sign-ups and traffic has been going down, tipping in the rooms has also been going down because when you don't have many new sign-ups all you are left with are old spenders who tend to spend in a more measured way, and because people on camsites have a lot of herd mentality they only tip if others are tipping, like a snowball effect. If nobody is tipping in a room, nobody is likely to tip. If there are people tipping others join. When you sign up 10000 models and only 100 users you split those tippers among thousands of rooms and the density of the tipping decreases which makes it slower all across the board.

Sure, you can do many things if you tweak the stuff that is given to you by design, but what I am talking about in my post is the promo tools as they are given to you by Chaturbate. 99% of affiliates don't tweak things because they don't know how to do it, and this is what shapes the culture and the userbase of the site, the force of the vast majority of traffic being pushed having been filtered by the default promo tools. Not what you or me can do individually.

You can only pick the gender, like I said. And this forces most affiliates to work with what is served to them by Chaturbate's sloppy algorithm.

Plus, handpicking a room you can choose to either have traffic directed to said room when the room is online and then send them to the homepage when the room is offline, or send them to the top room which, again, is the crappy "Top Cam" algorithm I was discussing. Most models are NOT online more than 8 hours a day so the other 16 hours your pop under or embed is the top cams or the homepage.

Having studio models with "perfect" fit/slender bodies doing full nudity, hardcore and lush monopolizing the tools is what is fucking with everyone's signups. Nobody is going to sign up for a site when they believe the woman in the embed is a recording or when they don't see any interaction possible with the person. The dude seeing a Chaturbate room for the first time doesn't even know what a Lush is. To him this is some random video of a woman masturbating that he can't interact with.

I personally don’t use the promo tools specifically for this reason. I use only text links to handpicked rooms. But I don’t use bought traffic so I’m not like many affiliates out there.

VizerCato is 100% correct in his analysis of the state of cam models. The sites themselves don't care, studios have overrun the model inventory with generic and uninteresting models.

Affiliates who just throw up iframes or popunders without taking an active role in promotion will see their earnings continue to drop.
