If SEO is your bread and butter then tell us what Google is going to do in future. What is your prediction?

Anyone getting traffic from Yahoo?

I used to get a bunch but now mostly get it from Google and Bing.

It's surprising since Mozilla recently added Yahoo to be their default search engine when people open the browser up.

Build a business that appeals to customers, then build it so outside forces like FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Google and Adblockers can't harm it.
How many successful sites have you built lately Paul?

True ... but I was mainly thinking of my comparison between Bing and Yahoo. Lots of Bing traffic but very little yahoo, if any.

Google owns 70-85% of search traffic.
The rest are of Yahoo, Bing, ...

Explain to everyone why people's thinking, selling and marketing is different online. Explain why I'm wrong. Not to me but to everyone else.

I have a lot of experience in a few things. Selling and marketing are one of those few things. Running a successful business selling content until 8 years ago was also something I was good at.

My stance is, there's fuck all any of you can do to get Google to change the way they do business to suit you. Google has always put the surfer first. This thread is just like all the other bitching that a large company has changed its rule to suit customers and not us. So apart from collective bitching and weeping this thread is pointless.

My point is to take your heads out of your asses and realise that true marketing and selling is the way forward so you maximise the affect your sites have on people. Not worry about things you have no control over.

As for what I've achieved. So far as we can prove, more than you.

Paul Markham.

Google Expert. Which one are you. so far you're a loud mouth with a screen grab and nothing else.

I have more to claim about making money online than you. Is that enough for you?

Of course, it's easy to reply with abuse, hard to reply with links to your sites. Screengrabs are all most of you can muster.

Good point.

Then like people who are employed or rely on one company for their income. You have to suck it up and take what's dealt. While doing what the boss decrees. You will have to play the game according to Google.

You can try marketing on Twitter, FB, YT, etc. More and more effectively. You can make sure when people land on your site they're very impressed by it.

Of course, we are always at the mercy of what people want, so give it to them.

"what if SEO traffic is your bread and butter?" And you can't adapt. You die. And so far no one else has offered another solution, which is amazing with so many experts here.

Relying on Google puts you at the mercy of Google and you have no control over it.

Using Social Media works great and gives you far more control. Just follow the rules and have some common sense about what you post.

Think about your customer first, what motivates him, what does he want, need, like, etc. Apart from the hardcore porn aspect. Because that's done to death and everyone is still flogging that dead horse. Be clever, entertaining and informative.

Also use text to please the SE Bots and video to please customers. Just not sponsors clips taken from the porn scenes. They're so 2002 and never will compete with Tubes. Images as well aren't going to help much to entertain customers. They're 1998.

Of course, there are those that can't do this, which makes it great for those who can.

There are those who will just say this is rubbish, ask them what they do and ask them to show it. The problem with my critics is, none have shown anything that gives them the right to offer any advice or criticise.

It's a job that has to be done. Does it guaranty that the people landing on your sites care about what you have there? That's the entire message I'm putting across.

Making the most of the traffic you have, is better than concentrating on getting more traffic to a site that doesn't make the most of it. My method is already winning which is why no one can challenge it. The days of opening a blog a week or month and filling it with meta tags and offering little to the people are over for all but those who have nothing to offer the people.

JLP. Some things come to me after I've posted, some are separate because they to be answered separately. So far I think I'm the only one posting ideas to get around what Google and other SEs are dedicated to doing. Providing the surfer with the best service.

Organic search yields the best new customer conversion ratios.

Don't confuse customer acquisition with email's best use scenario of a *customer retention touchpoint*. Emails "nag" a customer to return and are not that effective in the newer intention oriented web marketing.

Either you are indexed favorably in search or are present where your new customers are. Viral success or reputation branding are out of reach for most.

Build a tube site. Give away all the free porn you can to attract a user-base of millions of free-loading porn surfers. Then sell their worthless traffic to desperate advertisers.

I've never left adult, I just stopped posting on GFY. I did dabble in the mainstream software market for a while, but it didn't pan out. Just thought I'd pop back into GFY to see what I missed.
