Who didn't see this coming.

At the end of Watergate almost seventy people were charged, most of whom was found guilty. Drip. Drip. Drip.

So you use Fairfax Underground, the stomping ground of DC types. That tells me more.

1. Isn't banned despite clear failure to follow rules, open threats to dox, and continued disruption of the site
2. Has a "mission" to a level which would be insane in an amateur
3. Purportedly a "nice guy" in person to the few who have seen him
4. Uses the standard classic projection displacement technique by accusing everyone else of being fake, or deceptive, in their personas

Ladies and gentlemen, we might be in the presence of our very own operative! Has anyone seen him? Does he have a shaved head?

This is exactly the way they took down occupy wall street, all the biggest crazies were in fact planted operatives.

Search me out, my lad, let's go to our respective folks at the top and see who has more power.

Except that it's not a witch hunt, and there are no such thing as witches. It's a criminal investigation, and its turning up a whole lotta criminals.

Melania flipped as well. She was secretly using her Slovenian contacts to get Manafort info.

Ivanka will flip later today. Trump will flip on himself over the weekend.

If only Mueller had thought to put anything at all related to Trump and his campaign in the indictment he brought against Manafort!

Get good at your job, Mueller!

Giuliani told New York Daily News reporter Chris Sommerfeldt that, with regards to Manafort, “things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons” once “this whole thing is over.”

More obstruction of justice, this time from Guiliani.

Yep. They're desperate. The blue wave has shown it's power in the special elections and so many in the GOP senate "retiring" because of Trump's idiocy. 2018 the house will be the Democrats for sure.

I'm pretty sure not putting anything Trump related in the indictment was done on purpose. No use in showing all your cards at once.

That has always been a possibility.

So with that logic, it means they are hoping that Manafort will have a story to tell that he has not told up to now that would tie Trump to Russian collusion.

Thank you for confirming for the rest of the crowd that, at this time, there is no Trump tie to this indictment and you are hoping there will be in the future.

And there might be - who knows. But there isn't now.

He knows that. He's just playing stupid to get post count up like his Acepimp nic.

Just like every other investigation you work from the bottom up and prosecute from the bottom up and build the pressure. Just like they did with the mob families.

I have always maintained the same thought process on this. Big investigations work like a whirlpool. They start slowly at the edges, bringing in fringe people with small stories to tell and they slowly work their way to the middle where the bigger players have more to offer until we finally get to the eye of the whirlpool where the final targets are moved against.

Mueller is building his whirlpool. Slowly but surely he is moving closer and closer to Trump. He doesn't leak. The only things we know from his investigation is what they have decided to release or were forced to release because they were public things like indictments etc. Beyond that, we have no idea what he has or doesn't has.

Mueller isn't dumb. He sees that Trump is trying to prosecute this case in the media so the last thing he wants to do is let Trump know what he has (or doesn't have) so Trump can attack those positions publicly. I believe that he thinks Manafort has a big story to tell so he is ladling on the charges against him in hopes that Manafort will then take an offer from him and flip. He's not including any Trump info right now because he wants Manafort to speak to that stuff later so there is not much use in giving Manafort and his lawyers time to look into that information and develop a defense against it.

Personally, I don't want Trump to be impeached and removed from office. The main reason is Mike Pence. He makes me nervous. I would rather see Trump put in a situation where he was weakened to the point where he either chooses not to run in 2020 or he runs and gets beat either in a Republican primary or the general election.

I understand that this is one possible playbook. And from your point of view, totally reasonable.

My way of thinking suggests that Manafort is already likely going to prison for life and if he had something to tell he'd have told it by now - how much pressure does he need? The guy is 69 years old! Is he hoping to get out by 79 instead of 89?

Still, I am open to both possibilities - what is a FACT is that currently, this indictment has nothing to do with Trump.

Lots of people just like you - and YOUR views on Trump are normal and reasonable. And lucky for you, as I'm sure you know, the Senate will not be impeaching the President.

I'm of the opinion that in November the Democrats will take back the house, but not the Senate. Even if Mueller returns his report and it claims Trump did things that might warrant impeachment the Senate will not move forward. Even if the Democrats win control of the Senate it will be a very small majority so they won't be able to move forward.

The only way I could see an impeachment actually happening is if the Mueller report includes something so grievous that there is no way for them to ignore it, but I don't think that will happen.

History says the Dems should take back the House - but we are in a different time so I'm not so sure that is going to happen. The Dems SEEM to be ready to shit the bed with bad ideas before an election - Pelosi? Yuck.

Anyway, I will sit here waiting patiently to learn how Manafort money laundering for Ukrainians years before he came to Trump's campaign will soon lead to Trump's arrest and perp walk.

It's not possible that Manafort himself and his illegal dealings is the subject of the case I suppose.

It is entirely possible that Manafort came into Mueller's cross hairs through this investigation and he was brought down for his past crimes AND he has nothing of any real value on Trump. It just seems like Mueller himself is taking a personal interest in this case unlike that other case recently where he came across info on someone and handed it over to another group to follow up on.

At this point, just about anything is possible. What I get annoyed with is when I see a lot of Republicans and Trump supporters saying things like, "There is no proof!" or "There is no evidence!" and they scream for an end to the investigation when the reality is nobody outside of the investigation really knows what they have or don't have.

Let me give you another possibility that it's not just about Manafort - BUT, not about Trump either.

How Tony Podesta's firm is connected to Russian-backed lobbying - Business Insider

"A big-shot lobbyist and Democratic donor has gotten caught up in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation because of his firm's ties to the lobbying organization led by President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Tony Podesta, who stepped down from his position as the head of the lobbying firm the Podesta Group on Monday, reportedly worked with Manafort's lobbying firm that had sought to ease the Obama administration's tough stance toward Ukraine's Russian-backed government.

Tony Podesta is the brother of John Podesta, the former campaign chairman for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Manafort used the Podesta Group and Mercury as part of a two-pronged strategy he was pursuing as a consultant for the Ukrainian Party of Regions, which was the ruling party during the tenure of ousted Russian-backed Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych."

The Podesta Group is DIRECTLY tied to Manafort.

You are correct - we have not seen any evidence so screaming about it from either side like we know for sure is just for fun speculation.

You don't have the same feelings for anti-Trump people on this board that do the same thing when, as we have agreed, there is no evidence?

I wouldn't be at all shocked to find out that Manafort flipped on multiple potentially including Podesta and others affiliated with Podesta's group. Manafort has worked in and around Washington for years. He has had a lot of access to high profile people. He may know where a lot of bodies are buried, so to speak.

If some Democrats go down, fine with me. I want to see crooks put away no matter where they fall on the political spectrum.

It is very odd that Podesta would just immediately shut down his company that was making $20 mil/yr right after Trump was elected

That actual situation may have nothing to do with Trump. Here's how many investigations work:

Criminal 1 robs a store and doesn't get caught.

Five years later Criminal 1 is now being investigated for something they may have done more recently that involves Criminal 2.

During the process of the investigation into the actions of 1 and 2, they discover 1's previous crime. They charge Criminal 1 with said crime then make him a deal, "We will let you plead guilty to a much lesser charge for robbing the store if you flip and give us information on Criminal 2."

In order to escape his past, Criminal 1 takes the deal and flips on Criminal 2.

That does strike me as odd, yes.

And, clearly, it appears, so is Manafort.

So I guess the question we will eventually get answered is: How many people will Manafort take down with him and who will those people be.

Love seeing Trumps people plead guilty week after week.

Seeing Manafort thrown in jail today and lose $10 million bail is icing on the cake.

Alll Conservatives want to see the law enforced. Criminals belong in jail.

Btw... since we're here, what does this last sentence say??
