Here's the real shocker. Over the 30 years i ran my company in the UK i paid the government a total of more than $614.000.00 in National Insurance contributions on top of 40% income tax. And since i moved to the USA i receive zero benefit, if i need health care and wanted to travel back to the UK for treatment i would have to wait 6 months to get reinstated into the NHS system. Good luck if you need emergency treatment.
A friend of mine in San Diego had 4 bypass procedures. His alive but his medical bills of more than $1,400.000.00 are killing him with the pressure of trying to pay back this huge charge.
